QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 05:05 PM) I would imagine that Engel will sign. Octavio Rodriguez probably goes to school. He could be a 1st rounder in 3 years. Maybe he is worth a little $$$ penalty.
-
Is there ANY possibility we can get both Engel and Rodriguez?

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 15, 2013 -> 12:06 PM) Tigers, Pirates, Rangers, Yankees, and Indians have all lost to the Astros as well....If we lose the series though, that's rock bottom. Did they lose when their ace struck out 14 and gave up no earned runs?

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jun 9, 2013 -> 03:34 PM) Micah Johnson, 2/4 with a 2B, RBI. Now hitting .330/.420/.503/.923 with 13 2B, 7 3B, 4 HR, 33 BB, 47 K, 49 SB. I think it's really time to push him to W/S. Dump OF Richmond, or SS Curley and give Micah a chance to see better competition. I think we will see that in the next week or two. No reason to keep him in Kanny anymore, he can obviously perform there.

I think the sox will make sure they are able to sign Michalczewski and then one of Engel/Rodriguez

You're Hahn, who are you looking to trade first?

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 10:30 PM) You don't trade the players who are performing and then expect to contend in the near future. Plus when you do trade what do you want in return? You don't just tear your team apart out of frustration. What do we do then? Do we remain below-average, drafting 10-15th for the next 3-4 years until our older players are gone and then let our farm take over? You can't build a team through free agency anymore, unless you want overpaid players on the wrong side of 30 that will remain good players for half of their contracts. If we go that direction, you need to trade what little impact players you have now, for a potential impact player that you will control for the next ~5 years, then supplement that through FA. If we had a few impact players in our farm, this would be different, but we don't. We have MAYBE 1-2. One of which who is likely 3-4 years away(Hawkins) and the other (Johnson) won't help since we can't hit to save our lives -
Thompson up to .246 Hopefully he can get up to ~.270

Who would it take for us to get a Tony Cingrani or Anthony Rendon? Rios/Crain package? Peavy? I'm just curious, and am in no way saying that's what will happen or should happen so don't flame me hahaha. Could we even do it? -

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 07:17 PM) Yea probably right. Although Sale facing the NL night in & night out...... :o With that trade we take on a SS, possible frontline starter, and 1B who are all ~25. I'd do that trade each and everyday. -

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 07:14 PM) Goldschmidt/Corbin/Gregorius/Bradley or Skaggs for Sale/Paulie With Skaggs? Definitely. AZ would never do that though. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 07:06 PM) Do you think the A's would trade Cespedes, or the Dodgers Puig (for Sale)? For the A's, having some semblance of an offense has to be more important than MORE pitching. Sox would want more than just Puig. He's off to a hot start but no one knows if he is a sure thing. -

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 06:24 PM) Who's going to play short if you trade Ramirez? If we're selling, does it really matter? -

Crain. Won't completely be seen as a white flag trade, team could still be somewhat competitive, and we could get a good return. -
Seems like we're saving money to sign our two question marks

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 01:28 PM) Um. A 10% K rate doesn't exactly qualify as "strikeout issues" to me... That's what I was thinking.

if rowdy is still there in the next round, thats a good pick

hopefully they know what theyre doing

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 12:18 PM) Well there goes Denney to Boston. good pick for them
-
QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) Yea I have a feeling he will be off the board real early today. Not sure about his signing situation. Committed to go to USC. Well we should be able to go below-slot with Danish, so maybe we go a little above with him or Dahl if he's there
-
Wow. That kid does have some pop. 7.42 60 yard dash is not bad AT ALL for his size.

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 11:51 AM) Could draft our future DH in ROWDY TELLEZ!!! Arguably one of the BEST POWER HITTERS in this draft. Listed at 6-4 220 but he is more like 270 haha. ROWDY ROWDY ROWDY that kid is massive

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 7, 2013 -> 01:45 AM) Check out Phegley's splits. Pretty much the same guy vs RHP and LHP I was looking at that the other day. I went into it expecting a decent difference. I'd really like to see what he can do, even though at one point I was a Flowers supporter.

Premium position, exceptional speed, chance to have an above-average bat, and favorable age. I'm cool with this.

I'd love Denney to still be there for us but I doubt it. Biggio's kid?
