  1. dunn single on first pitch FB, viciedo rope but out... definetely saw a leg kick and a little more open stance from dayan
  2. wow morel down 3 pitches 3 strikes looked AWFUL
  3. Personally, I think it should be Danks. I'd rather give a young guy a shot THEN call up wise. Tekotte has been having a decent spring too.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 10:26 PM) He won't. Tyler Flowers is awful. I know we are a little out of MLB season and we may be forgetting some, but it was just a few months ago where we all wanted him gone because he wasn't a good enough back-up catcher. One that barely played. Now he's our starting catcher. Well, I don't think he will be. Hopefully Hahn has another move. I really hope Hahn has another move, because I don't want flowers as our catcher. I was speaking simply in terms of what if. Far too many times have I seen him whiff at pitches. My point was I thought that AJ's time had run out, BUT we need something better than TFlo
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) Oh, I have no doubt this was a business/saving payroll move. As do I, but personally at this point in time believe we have little shot versus the tigers this year, why not try to develop flowers? What if he turns into a legit .260/20/75 threat? Hahn will look like a magician, But yes i know, what if he doesnt, well then were all in for a long summer.... go D'Backs?
  6. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 10:16 PM) For one year? Yeah, there is not a GM in baseball who would go with Flowers. one year on a semi-cash strapped team? I think you would be surprised. There are many doubters in AJ's year last year, wouldnt be surprised for him to be below career AVGs next year Sometimes thinking like a business owner > ***
  7. my one input before i go to bed... we are better off without AJ I'm tired of people holding onto players for far too long, that only leads to bad contracts, etc. How can we develop players when we do not let them play, lets remember TFlo at one point had a nice rave about him, lets put some trust into Hahn. Has anyone thought about brian mccann?
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) Appreciation? For what exactly? Was just thinking this, happy he is gone.
  9. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 01:45 PM) So with Shields off the market are there any SPs better than Floyd who are openly available via trade?? Trevor Bauer has more value.
  10. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 5, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) In reference to this post... Someone I follow on twitter said Heyman was on MLB Networks and said: White Sox tossing around "pie in the sky" ideas. "somebody that they've loved for 5 years" Also he just tossed Justin Upton's name into the White Sox possibility bin. Don't know if that's based on anything but he said it. Can anyone vouch? Ive been saying all off-season the sox were interested in Upton. However, I dont think we have what it takes to get it done. I'm not giving up viciedo. De Aza + Sanchez + Reed + Johnson/Rienzo/Castro maybe? prolly not even close. We would need to trade for someone else's prospect. Who plays center then? Rios?
  11. ESPN is a bunch of scrubs. I heard we need an ace left handed pitcher too?
  12. why was everyone so stuck on youk? he played well for a few months for us then totally fell off. especially when he is going to be getting WAY more than he should.
  13. we werent going to get him for 2 years with the market the way it is, it was either 3 years or brent morel. i thank god for the 3 years.
  14. backup for flowers would probably have to be someone like olivo
  15. Dunn/Reynolds/Flowers in the same lineup? hide me.
  16. it starts today? for some reason i thought it was tues or wednesday
  17. if AJ is the difference between sanchez at third or someone else, i say flowers.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 23, 2012 -> 12:55 PM) I certainly hope Wise won't have a Melky Cabrera type year. Minus the 50 game suspension
  19. I'd assume there will be many teams open to Figgins at minimum wage due to his versatility.
  20. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 12:58 PM) This is a great idea, I think it will work. Now they just need to do $3 dollar beer, $1 hot dog night in the bleachers like they do at Wrigley to cater to the college kids. Theres nothing i hate more than seeing the sox on TV with empty outfield stands. I suggested this as well. Being a college kid myself, it is extremely hard for me to go to games unless with my family. If prices were lowered, I could easily get a group of 10 friends to go, especially if on Thurs/Fri/Sat nights. My games attended per year would instantly go from 10 to about 20.
  21. If he repeats next year, do we explore an extension to possibly buy out 1 year of FA?
  22. GREAT deal. Sale/Peavy/Danks/Quintana/Floyd(for now) SICK rotation. Top 5.
  23. half-price or lowered beer price weekend night games.... attract the college kids i know what comes along with that, but it will put more people in the seats
  24. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 26, 2012 -> 12:38 PM) The biggest issue during the news confernce was whether Hahn, who served under Williams for 12 seasons, would have final say on all baseball matters, including trades. "It's Rick's decision until it's not," Williams said. "When it's not, we'll have to hammer it out." Not a big fan of this quote basically says KW will have MAJOR say on every move. I watched it and I actually felt KW's tone was very much that the reins are in Hahn's hands now. As the poster above me said, they will watch over him just like any other business always has someone that is higher. But it seemed to me that Hahn is now the very much in charge of decisions. I loved the emphasis he put on continued spending on the draft/international, and by the sound of it, they are looking to add from last years team.
