  1. Ok so maybe he hadn't turned the corner. He's 2-1 with a 5.65 ERA and has a 40/30 K/BB ratio in 43IP. Only 1HR given up in 31G so far this season though so that's a positive I guess.
  2. Clayton's moved up to Winston - Salem now. He finished up with a 6-6 3.87 ERA at Kanny with a 54/28 K/BB ratio. At Winston - Salem, he's 1-3 with a 4.56 ERA, with a 12/6 K/BB ratio in 4GS.
  3. Egbert's still only given up the 2HR all the way thru the season. Finished up at 9-8 2.94 ERA at Winston - Salem with a 120/46 K/BB ratio. The big story here is however, 4GS at B-Ham, 0-2 with a 0.86 ERA, .215 BAA and a 24/8 K/BB ratio. He's quickly becoming one of our better prospects.
  4. Gartrell's up at B-Ham now as many of you would already know. He finished up with splits of .308/.438/.449 down at Bristol. 5 games with the Barons hitting .200/.333/.267. Looks to be a guy who won't hit for much power so far, but has good plate discipline. Had a 48/43 K/BB ratio in 214 AB's down at Bristol.
  5. An update, Jose finished up with a 3.27 ERA in 12G, with a 27/17 K/BB ratio. He's up at Kanny now, not doin so well. 4GS, 1-2, 10.80 ERA, 5HR, 13/6 K/BB ratio. .369 BAA. His last start though, 6IP, 2ER, 2BB's and 5K's.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 04:44 PM) Shelby started off slow but really come on as of late. I hope to see him in High A to begin the season next year. And hopefully he comes out and does well, because we're really lacking in middle infield prospects right now. He has posted +.800 OPS's over the past month and a half though down at Great Falls, so he's really come on as of late like u said.

    uh facebook?

    QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) yessssssssssssssssssssss except everytime i look, some chick is sticking her tongue out at me. WTF IS THE DEAL WITH THAT? It's a North Dakota thing (or South Dakota, they're all the same).
  8. He's been good in past half a dozen starts. Hopefully it can continue. There's still hope with him folks.
  9. Konerko's splits since the ASB FWIW; .298/.372/.524
  10. Round of applause for Javy tonight. Great outing.
  11. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:08 AM) Papelbon back yet? If not, who's closing? Probably Foulke I would imagine.
  12. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) I like sweeney as a 4th OF next year, or platooning with josh fields in left I'd rather he get consistent AB's starting for us or Charlotte. He has looked good tonight though. I think he'll be a factor down the stretch now (hopefully).
  13. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) It is indeed a very critical game. It would give Sweeney some good major league experience. And hopefully give the rest of the team a jump if he does well in his 1st start.
  14. Tevez and Mascherano both got unveiled at a West Ham Press Conference today. They are both on 4 year deals, but have a clause after the 1st year of the deal that they can be sold for a big amount e.g 35M Pounds for Tevez if a team like Chelsea comes in and makes a bid for them.
  15. Heard this joke today; A Duck walks into a Supermarket on the 1st day and asks the Clerk, "Do you have any Duck Food?" The clerk says no, and the duck says he'll come back tomorrow. Same thing happens the next day. On the 3rd day, the Duck asks the same question and the Clerk says "If you come back and ask that question one more time, I'm going to nail your webbed feet to the ground". So the next day the Duck comes back to the supermarket and asks the clerk "Do you have any nails?" The clerk says "No we don't", so the Duck asks "Do you have any Duck Food?"
  16. Just a FWIW on Vazquez, in 6 GS in August he had 3.41 ERA with a .239 BAA, much lower than his middle months. I know Chris Young is going to make us wince everytime we watch the D-Backs play (assuming he stays there), but I think Javy has shown he may actually be starting to turn it around a bit. He hasn't given up more than 4ER in his last 6 starts.
  17. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) Its amazing to me how many parents try to live the glory they never received, via their kids. Its kind of sick, really. How embarrassing for them. That's pretty much my thought process when I see some whacked out soccer mom/dad screaming obscenities at an 11 year old kid (or a 17 year old umpire, or a volunteer coach) while foaming at the mouth over a play at a little league game. As Lisa Simpson once said; "You mean those leagues where parents push their kids into vicious competition to compensate for their own failed dreams of glory?" It's just sad that these things happens honestly.
  18. We had an equal oppurtunity session at work that went for an hour and a half today. The woman taking it looked like something out of the Rocky Horror Show or something. One of the more funnier discussion was it's harassment even if you don't say stop, if someone is flushing your head down the toilet. But yes the poll, Male, 20, and White.
  19. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) Rugby players are insane. Yes they are. The only position I would play in rugby is the scrum half, who's the little guy who picks the ball up at the back of the ruck and passes it to the fly - half. Basically he doesn't get his head trampeled on and pummeled like all the big forwards do.
  20. I just saw an old episode of the Amazing Race where they go to the Water Tower, then Gino's East and finally to Ping Tom Memorial Park. Nice to see most of cabbies have no idea where the latter was as well
  21. Since the ASB, Howard has splits of .360/.496/.806. That's an OPS of 1.302. If Philly end up getting the wild card spot, there's no doubt Howard should be the NL MVP. It also raises the question, if you were building a team, would you take Howard over Albert Pujols right now?
  22. Egbert has only given up 2HR in 29GS so far this season. I don't care who you are, that's very impressive.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 5, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) And last year I felt he was a piss poor manager as well. The man has some serious flaws when it comes to his managerial techniques but the worst part is he's far too stubborn to ever learn from his mistakes. The thing is, aren't there a lot of managers out there who have poor in game managerial techniques? Look at Terry Francona for instance. Even Ron Gardenhire who a lot of posters here think is a GREAT manager, gets criticised by Twinkies fans a lot, for example when Jackass Jones played for Minny, he wasn't platooned even though he was terrible against lefties. Ozzie's main positive is to keep the clubhouse loose etc. That'll be extremely important in this upcoming month. It's not Ozzie's fault Jenks just didn't have a good outing today, I thought he managed quite well actually.
  24. All the best to him if it's indeed the case;
