  1. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) I thought he would automatically be offered back to us if he didn't make the team? So he would have to clear waivers first? Yeah I think so. Anybody have an inkling that the Twins could claim him, considering who they have trying out for the LOOGY role?
  2. QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) He is a statue in the pocket, and you cant blame just the OLine for his problems.. In their wins he had a QB rating of 105.4 In their losses it was 59.8 Is that the OLines fault? Or more like when Bledsoe is bad he is REAL bad.. Bledsoe had a rating of 70 or lower in ALL of their loses, I think you can hardly blame the Offensive Line for that.. An offensive line is either gonna be good for the most part or bad for the most part.. They arent going to go up and down from game to game like QB play can as seen above by the games Dallas won and Lost.. How about when it came down to crunch time and Dallas needed that extra win to get into the playoffs? In their last 5 games, 3 of them had Bledsoe with ratings of 36.9, 42.0, and 53.6.. All losses. Like I said, Bledsoe is not a top QB anymore.. Sure, he is above average, but he is not gonna be leading Dallas deep into the playoffs. If Bledsoe had great ratings throughout the begining of the season and then tanked the rest of the season, sure, I might agree with you.. but thats not what happened.. 4-2 with Flozell Adams Should be 6-4 without him if Bledsoe wouldnt have blown the Seattle game. Either way, im done arguing my point about Bledsoe. You guys can think what you want, I just dont agree with you.. Just on these points, to show how important having Adams was, Bledsoe had a 101.25 QB rating in those first 6 games, when he had Flozell protecting his blindside. Bledsoe suffered down the stretch because the protection from the like Rob Pettiti was getting worse and worse at the end of the season (if you saw Leonard Little own him like no tomorrow in the season finale you see why). He's got his shortcomings no doubt. He's slow, he's getting older, and he hangs onto to the ball for too long. But if you give him time, he'll produce. And with some serious weapons in Owens, Glenn, Witten and Julius Jones, I can't see why Bledsoe can't have a good season, if the O-Line can stay healthy, and the likes of Fabini and Kosier provide improvements on the line as well.
  3. I still think the Sox are going to look for a guy at the end of ST for the bullpen. Whether it's a lefty or not, I don't know. But Boone has certainly put himself on the map. It's a 2 horse race b/w he and Lopez right now. So long as Boone doesn't have any brain implosions on the mound in the next week, the job could very well be his. But I am hoping we get Fabio Castro back as well (which is probably doubtful at this point). I think he's shown he wouldn't be completely out of his depth either if we got him back, although he should go down to AA or AAA.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) 3 years, $25 million? Has Jerry Jones been paying attention the last couple of years? The guy is a great talent, but has acted his way off of 3 teams. SF, the trade to Balt. and Philly. Nothing would please me more than if he were to continue his cancerous ways in the Big D. It's basically a 1 year deal, and if the Boys want to keep him, they'll just pay the roster bonuses.
  5. Borch had 2 more hits at the plate today, how did he look?
  6. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 12:15 AM) I have my doubts about Broadway. I'll reserve judgement on him though. I hope KW and the scouting staff knew what they were doing here. I think initally he may not put up the numbers that people may expect from him as a 1st rounder, because he doesn't really his "plus" stuff besides that curveball. But in a lot of ways, he's like Brandon McCarthy, who didn't really come onto the scene when he was in the system for a couple of years IIRC. He's only 190 LBS, so he can still put some pounds on, and hopefully from that, that'll help him put a couple of extra miles on his fastball. He reminds me a bit of Justin Duscherer actually who's turned into a pretty good reliever for the A's.
  7. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 12:05 AM) Does anyone know who Jester is? I would like to thank them for there donation. Probably EvilJester, he of the about 5000-6000 posts.
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 07:20 PM) The Knicks beat the Pistons. :puke Yeah saw that, LB's actually got a set lineup for the last few games, Malik Rose seems to be doing ok at PF, with Rose, Curry, Francis and Starbury alongside him. They've been a little more competitive lately, but they still had something like 22 turnovers against the Pistons. And that's something we've been improving in with Mr. Franchise the turnovers. Dwight Howard's actually the main cause of ours now, he leads all PF's in the NBA in TO's actually. But Darko's starting to become a real presence for us down low now as well. He's had 14 in his last 3 games. And he's got a fairly nice offensive game, as he can hit the 20-22 foot jumpers with regularity. For this team to move forward though, we need a real good shooter at the wing spot. I'd love to get Adam Morrison. I know a lot of people here don't like him, but we play a slow half court offense, and Brian Hill's offense allows for guys like Stevenson and Hedo to shoot a lot of outside jumpers. They're just not that good at it. Getting a guy like Morrison, who's got serious skills shooting the J, would take our offense to another level, especially since Dwight's getting double teamed down low, and he can dish off to the open man on the outside.
  9. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) He's got to know this is his last chance. I seem him being a model citizen for this year only. After that, it's gonna get ugly. Which is why in a perfect world, I'd trade him after that 1 season, when his value is at its highest, but that'll never happen. But after the moves we've made in terms of upgrading the line, I think Bledsoe could pass for 4000 yards next season, and this football team could win 11-12 games. The NFC East is going to be even better than it was last season. The Redskins have massively upgraded, so have the Boys, the Giants will be therabouts, but will probably depend on the Eli/Tiki combo, and then you've got the Eagles who dominated this division before last season. Each team could easily win 10 games.
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 06:08 PM) You've got one year to enjoy him. He's gonna have to kiss ass for atleast this season. But come year 2, he'll be the T.O. we all despise. I don't even give him a year myself. That's giving him too much credit.
  11. AZ fans have soured on Koplove pretty hard. I saw him first hand give up a 3 run shot to Dimitri Young last year IIRC, and they were booing the heck out of him for that. Don't know whether his problems could be fixed by Coop or whatever though. Could possibly be an interesting option.
  12. QUOTE(beck72 @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) Most people are expecting the sox to pick up a guy who could start the yr with the sox though. IMO, the sox got Nomo for the same things people are expecting from a guy like Osuna--help for AAA and an outside shot at helping this yr. Well would you think Osuna or Nomo has more left in the tank right now? It's going to be hard for the Sox to trade for a guy who can help right now and start in the bullpen straight away. 29 other teams want the same thing, and there's not much on the market at the moment. I'd suggested trading for guys like Jermaine Van Buren who won't be on their team's bullpen because of too much depth. If that option can't be taken, and you don't want to give up too much for a good reliever, unless you want to sign someone like Danny Graves who could be released from the Indians if he doesn;t make their bullpen (4 guys fighting for 1 spot), then you have to look at signing a guy like Osuna.
  13. I don't think people are expecting Osuna to jump right in and perform for the Sox if we did sign him. I'd sign him on a MLC, let him start the year in Charlotte, and if he performs well there and if there is a need on our bullpen to upgrade still, you've got an option in Osuna. Always good to cover your bases and have extra options, as we've seen for Hermy's injury.
  14. The Newark Stark Ledger reported a while back that the A's have been dangling Cruz in trade talks for a while now. And why wouldn't they, they've got 7 starters (8 if you include Cruz), and an incredible amount of depth. So if we're going to trade for Cruz, we'll probably have to give up a fairly good prospect I'd say, since Oakland don't have a great need for anything else at this stage.
  15. Danny Granger is fast turnin into a damn good player. Moved into the starting lineup for the Pacers now, has 19 points midway thru the 3rd quarter. And yet we overlooked him for Fran Vazquez.
  16. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) Now you're just patronizing me. Seriously though, Twins first 2005 Draft Pick (Garza--a hardthrowing pitcher) has done well in Spring Training. Why didn't we take him instead of Broadway? Or Cirillo? Oh yeah, Broadway rose his stock the last two months of college, is a lefthander, AND--most importantly--throws beneath 90. As you said, our management shouldn't concentrate on drafting Mark Buehlre's because they're rare. Let those pitchers fall into your lap. Here's what we do from now on--find out who the Twins are scouting, then STEAL the picks from underneath their eyes. It's the only way to improve. Hire scouts to scout their scouts. And if Broadway outproduced Garza in the minors this season, what about the comparison between the two of them then? Besides, Broadway is already more advanced than Garza, Lance is startin at AA, Garza at A ball. Garza had a 3.07 ERA for Fresno State Uni. in 2005 FWIW.
  17. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 05:04 AM) Gload is better/proven insurance policy if Thome or Konerko go down. That is about it. Huge issue staring KW and Ozzie in the face between the two. But I mean we signed Bucky Jacobson who's produced in the majors before in AAA, and even Casey Rogowski down there as well. If we can package Gload instead of Borch for a good reliever, I'd rather do that.
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 06:34 AM) Oh, fantastic. Another thing to worry me. THE SKY IS FALLING!!!! OUR SEASON IS OVER BECAUSE OF THIS DAMNIT!!!! It's the freakin Rocky Mountain News.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 18, 2006 -> 03:32 AM) That's exactly how it was with the Bills too. The guy's got a great arm, but he's a statue with a damn slow release. You put him in front of a solid O-Line and he'll make Peerless Price look like a pro-bowler (while still taking 2-3 sacks per game). You put him in front of a weakened offensive line, he'll take 5-6 sacks per game, and never complete a darn thing no matter who his receivers are. Which is why it's so damn important we upgrade this offensive line. I tell you one thing for's certain, Rob Pettiti won't be our starting RT this season that's for sure.
  20. Joe needs to keep it going, he's being hitting the ball well lately, and hopefully Ozzie keeps giving him AB's in the rest of the games.
  21. So I went to the Commonwealth Games tonight, and saw some Field Hockey which was interesting. Unfortunately we had 4 screaming kids sitting right behind us, with a mother who decided to vanish for 30 mins and leave them unsupervised so that she could go and buy them some food. And they had those annoying plastic clappers thingies. We got hit twice with them, and told them "nicely" to please be more careful with them.
  22. QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) Haha, he cant even get along with a Pro Bowl QB in Donnovan McNabb... Cant wait to see what happens as he goes a season with sorry ass Drew Bledsoe Bledsoe actually wasn't that bad for us last season. He just actually needs an offensive line to protect him. When Flozell "The Hotel" Adams went down, so did our chances.
  23. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Mar 17, 2006 -> 11:34 PM) God no. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Just what I want to see plastered all over my tv from now until hell freezes over is stupid ass Terrell Ownes. The Dallas media has to be creaming their collective pants. We've just signed possibly the biggest cancer in professional sports. I can't see him falling into line with Parcells hard line stance either. Frankly they should have signed Eric Moulds instead, but Jerry had to have his man. And I'm guessing after all of the moves Dan Snyder and the Skins have made, Jerry's going to try and trump them with 1 move.
