  1. Wouldn't Fabio Castro be interesting right about now?
  2. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 06:16 PM) I agree. The Sox and Indians are clearly the class of the division. However, I could see the Tigers possibly finishing ahead of the Twins. The Twins' offense is very suspect. I still think though Minny's pitching is a bigger difference than what Detroit's offense will be. Maggs never hits well at Comerica, Pudge was terrible, Nook Logan could still be a starter, Carlos Guillen is terribly injury prone etc. there's still a lot of what's ifs with that offense. At least with Minny's rotation you know Santana and Radke are going to bring it, Silva will be a pretty good #3, Lohse may improve, and Baker / Liriano would be very nice #5 starters. Also can we get Dimitri Young's thoughts on what way he sees the AL Central going this season?
  3. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 5, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) Hasn't Redding looked good so far? Before today I don't think he did IIRC, but the 2 and 1/3 innings of scoreless relief he worked today he really needed to stay in the race.
  4. I've heard rumors the Boys want to trade down a few spots, and draft Manny Lawson from N.C State, if possible.
  5. He's still pickin the Yankees to win it all though right?
  6. Thanks for the info there RME JICO. Probably a good idea for everyone to do.
  7. Thomas has got 20 points in his 1st game for Phoenix thus far.
  8. And wouldn't you know it, right on cue, Steve Francis turns the ball over. EDIT: AND AGAIN!!!!!
  9. Well Gordon finally got the ball in the clutch.
  10. Francis is droppin bombs on ya, BWAHAHA.
  11. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 11:24 AM) Oh he's gonna be in Louisville to start the year. This definitely calls for me going to the park and talking to Timo this year. May even have him sign a World Series ball. Definitely calls for some hazing as well.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 4, 2006 -> 12:10 PM) It appears 4 of his runs were also unearned. Lopez and Liotta appear to have both had good showings. Yeah, taking the B-Mac school of thought from last ST, you really shouldn't take much stock into what a pitcher does here at all. If they succeed, you place too much pressure on them to be the next big thing (that way when they fail like B-Mac did, you call them a bust), and if they fail in ST they're a bust anyway. It's almost a no win situation.
  13. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 05:45 PM) We've really gotta get that trademarked.
  14. QUOTE(rventura23 @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) arent there any prospects we would rather be looking at? I just think theres no benefit to having him. If we are short on pitchers in charlotte and we have no prospects to use then its fine to sign Nomo Not really. When you consider Munoz and Diaz were starting in Charlotte last season and they won't be back there, B-Mac pitched some time in Charlotte as well and he won't be there either. As for arms coming up, well Sean Tracey is probably moving to the pen, even if he doesn't make the 25 man roster out of ST, but they may make him start at Charlotte anyways, don't know yet. Most of our better pitching prospects like Lance Broadway, Ray Liotta and Tyler Lumsden will probably start the year down at Birmingham.
  15. Randy Jackson will say DAWG at least 10 times.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 3, 2006 -> 10:37 AM) I don't care if it's Spring Training or not. Baj hasn't shown the ability to get MLB hitters out. I hope he improves the rest of Spring Training. I don't want him making the MLB roster unless he proves he can get these hitters out. Certainly not the start he needed in ST. But at least his main competition hardly put their names forward today either.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 2, 2006 -> 08:28 PM) Why not draft Morrison and trade for JR Smith. I can't see us doing both. To be honest, if we traded Battie for Smith, and then took one of the bigs in the draft (I'm thinkin we're gonna hav a top 4 pick at this rate), that would do me. But it definitely looks like we're going to re-sign Battie, and I guess they want him to stick around to help teach Darko like he's done with Dwight, and Battie has had his moments at C this season (although lately he's stunk).
  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 2, 2006 -> 05:15 PM) The Hornets had a good 2nd half today. 16 points. Ouch. A team like Phoenix could rack that up in 3-4 mins.
  19. Orlando keep losing but Darko Milicic's line tonight; 26 mins, 12 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks. And our main need has GOT to be a bonafide 3 point shooter. We'd definitely be at the bottom in terms of 3 pointers made, and if we can get Adam Morrison in the draft, or even trade for J.R Smith (giv em Tony Battie for all I care, since Darko deserves to start right now), that's the way Otis Smith should go.
  20. Didn't we have a thread once to do with pet peeves when you're at the ballpark (probably was quite a long time ago though). There were some funny ones in there.
  21. Yeah this off-season was pretty good, and I suppose that's due to so many things happening for this team with trades etc. and KW not sitting in his GM chair twiddling his thumbs all day. But the site keeps growing and we got some really good discussions happening here.
  22. It's probably had it's head ripped off by A.J by now anyways.
  23. Well there's no conspiracy theory on the Sox suddenly wanting to deal Freddy Garcia or Jose Contreras since they are gonna sign Nomo at least. But yes Charlotte needs arms, albeit Nomo's has absolutely nothing left. I thought he retired and went back to Japan at the end of the 2004 season though?
  24. QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Mar 2, 2006 -> 08:42 AM) Now this is the one i am talking about that mercy! was b****ing at me for. She had the worst sense of humor... it was amazing. So that's where I remember it from.
