Your Least Favorite New York Knick!
DBAHO replied to hammerhead johnson's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Felix @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) He's the second most hated for me. Its hard to beat out Marbury. I suppose as a person, Marbury would probably be the more hated. In Basketball terms though, I'm going with Francis (I'm thinking someone like Hammer might agree with me). In his career, Francis averages 3.7 TO's compared to Marbury's 3.2. Francis also averages less assists, Francis has shot about 27.5% for 3 pointers over the past 3 seasons, and other numbers like rebounds have dwindled over the past couple of years compared to his career averages. -
Darko played 22 mins tonight (probably the most in his NBA career so far). He had 8 points, 5 boards and 2 blocks. Promising signs, he needs to be getting those type of minutes for the rest of the season. Also Carlos Arroyo had 18 points off the bench tonight. He was pretty good in Utah for one season, before he got in Sloan's doghouse, and hopefully he can get back to that form.

Could Aaron Rowand be a leadoff hitter if he was still in Chicago? Why the White Sox's offense will be due for a regression in 2006? Why the Yankess will win the World Series with their "deep rotation". Just some of the doozies you could ask him.

Yeah I think this is gonna be easy enough.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) Hey Andrew...get off your butt and sign up for our keeper league Duly noted. And the Knicks have scored 0 points in 4:17 of basketball so far. Welcome to the Madness Mr. Franchise. You'll fit right in.

QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 04:31 PM) If you played with witesoxfan he would piss you off to know end. Yeah he loves those pre flop raises doesn't he.

Brian Hill finally came to his senses and brought in Darko Milicic instead of Mario Kasun as the 1st big off the bench. It's about f***in time. And Dwight has 9 rebounds in the 1st quarter. I love that dude.

I'm the only one who's voted for Steve Francis? Wow. -
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) If you guys added JR Smith to go along with Ariza/Milic...... plus already having Dwight and Nelson.... that could be your starting 5 for the next 10 years JR Smith is one of my favorite players in the league I might actually like the magic if that happens. The Hornets want a backup center for Smith. I'd say we'd have to give up Battie to get him. Considering we want to re-sign him (he's been a model professional and a great mentor for Dwight), I don't know if that's gonna happen. If we get Smith, we wouldn't take someone like Redick in the draft either. More likely a Carney, Bargnani or even Aldridge.
-
Otis Smith has said we may not be finished dealing yet. Tony Battie could go to New Jersey for their 1st round pick, and another pick. Keyon Dooling could go to Cleveland (possibly for Anderson Varejao and a future 1st), while Pat Garrity is also getting shopped. J.R Smith could also get traded by the Hornets. I know he's in Byron Scott's doghouse, but if the Magic could get him cheap, I'd love to have him.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 05:22 PM) One guy thats really found a place is Mobley. God damn I never realized how good he was. He seems to finally be letting the game come to him more instead of forcing shots. Livingston will have to stay healthy and develop if they want to win the finals though. Cassel will get things started but by the time this team is ready to go the distance, it will be up to Livingston to run the offense. Mobley for Doug Christie has got to be one of the worst trades over the past decade. I bet Stevie Franchise is trying to convince Isiah to trade Starbury for Mobley now though.

Official Torino Olympics Thread

The Woman's Aerials was on last night, one of our main hopes Lydia Ierodiaconou had knee surgery about 8 months ago, and when she went for her 2nd jump she tore the ACL in the same knee, after she was 2nd after the 1st jump. Gotta be one of the most tragic things in sports I've seen in quite a while; Lydia Article Also I just saw Sasha Cohen's short program. I can see why the Flying Tomato likes her. -
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) You've got to be f***ing kidding me! This has to be bogus. KG to the Knicks for Penny and Frye? If that happens, Paxson should be fired. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives..._the_big_apple/ Realgm is pretty reliable when it comes to trade rumors. This better not happen. Maurice Taylor and Jamal Crawford for Francis? Ugh.

Bress definitely makes sense for a lot of teams at QB. I'm shocked the Chargers are going this route. They've got the caproom to keep both IIRC, and in this day and age, they should definitely get some compensation for him. If the Jets cut Pennington, they could go after Brees and not have to pick Cutler at #4. Oakland could sign him if they decide not to keep Collins. They've seen first hand what Drew can do. And then there's teams like the Bills, the Dolphins etc. who all have muddled QB situations. If healthy, Brees will easily get a starting spot, I've got no doubts about that. How he does without Antonio Gates and LaDanian Tomilnson though, will be interesting to watch.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) He would come very cheap. Cheaper than Timo. If he accepted the fact he was a 4th outfielder, pinch hitter, and a once in a while DH against tough left handers, he might not be a bad guy to have around. There is no way you could count on him for a full season, but picking his spots, if he hit like he hit in 2003, he would be excellent. See my thinking is this. Borch may never get it. But I still think he would provide the same amount of power, that Gonzalez would (and then you've got to take into consideration Gone's injury problems). And with the whole roids issue, I think the Sox are probably gonna stay away, but that's JMHO.
-
The chances of Juan Gonzalez staying healthy are as great as me becoming the next President of the United States. And I remember some people actually thought Cleveland made a good move in signing him last season.

Even Shaq gets it;

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 10:56 PM) I think the weight he supposedly lost has been found. It should of headed B-Mac's way instead. Now where's Bill Parcells when ya need him.
-
QUOTE(beck72 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) I don't think the starters will go as many innings as they did last year. It should be a preventative type thing to keep them healthy and fresh. If Bmac could give the sox 80-100 innings, think how strong the rotation will be in August and Sept, and leading into October. And this is another plus for the Vazquez acquisition. The guy's a horse. You know you'll get 200+ innings from him. Let's hope Coop can work his magic on him.

Darko Milicic to be traded to Orlando

QUOTE(bmags @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) i find people have a pretty strong sentimentality with most of the bands of the late 80's early 90's that said i was never a big faith no more fan but some of pattons later stuff has been really good. Especially tomahawk. Speaking of which, at my Poker Game last Thursday Night we were listening to What's the Story Morning Glory by Oasis? Still gotta be one of the best albums of its time.

QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 03:31 PM) Yea, I did sorta ignore the good news from Hermie. Still, is anyone predicting Hermie to have an ERA under 3? I know I'm not. He shined last year, and thank him for it, but this year I see a bounceback. Hermy needs to keep the ball down if he's going to continue to put up good numbers for us. As the season went on, he left the ball up in the aone a lot more, and got hit a lot harder because of it. He only gave up 4 HR's for 2005 though. If he's going to have continued success for us, that'll number will have to stay around that mark. As for the 12th pitcher, just don't bring back Jon Adkins ok?
