QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) Arent AL Harrington and Nazr Muhammed both f/a's...... With the amount of cap space we have Id think we can bring them both to Chicago. Muhammed would give us the C we really need. And the Bulls have always seemed to have an interest in Harrington. Add that in with two 1st rounders one possibly top 5 with the Knicks sucking so much... although nothing is definite. There's actually quite a few big men out there who would appeal to Chicago as FA's. Nene's value will be pretty low, but he'd still be an excellent fit if his knee was back to 100%. Mohammed like you said, plus someone like Kelvin Cato (who I mentioned as a good trade target for the Bulls) as well.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) I could be wrong, but I don't see KW reversing his trend by trading a good solid starting pitcher for a slugger. Philly are in a lot of rumors right now. I read about Vernon Wells for Bobby Abreu this morning. If the do end up needing a center fielder (and most likely an excellent defensive one), you know Rowand or Anderson would definitely appeal to them.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 12, 2005 -> 12:10 AM) Philly would have to pick up ALOT of that deal if we were to trade Garland/Freddy for Thome. I had a thought about that. Philly has a starting pitcher Vicente Padilla, who IIRC may possibly be traded or non - tended. He's had success as a starting pitcher, or even in the pen before (he won 14 games in 2002 and 2003 with ERA's around 3.50). Maybe KW can work to try and get him included, although then they would pick up less of Thome's deal of course. Garland would be a PERFECT fit for Philly's ballpark though, being a good groundball pitcher.

I'm going to move this thread in PHT, because in the Philly papers today, they've been mentioning the White Sox with a Thome deal;

QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) Anyone could be moved if the right deal comes along. Rowand is one of those that would be more probable than others on the Sox. As for the Yankees, I never could see what they have to offer that could match up. It wouldn't shock me to Cashman try and pull in another team if he has his sights set on Rowand. The Yankees have an abundance of starting pitchers (I think they have 7 who are capable of being in the rotation under contract). They could try and make it a 3 way deal, and include someone like Carl Pavano or Jaret Wright possibly.
-
QUOTE(beck72 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) That teams are asking about Rowand and hearing "there's not a match" instead of "no way" should be a sign that Rowand could be moved if the right deal comes along The NY Daily News article said that the Sox were looking for a bat to replace Everett. Anyone think that if Pierre is moved, Rowand could be included in a possible deal for Delgado?

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 09:11 PM) Good sports games. Uncreative and unimaginative in all other genres. Yeah I don't have a beef with that, I play EA Sports Games, I don't spend my time playing games like The Sims etc. But most of them get pretty good reviews anyways.
-
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) They have no one that would interest unless the Yanks would give up Eric Duncan, who is their best prospect and that ain't happening. I wouldn't see a match as well. I could see KW asking for Cheng Ming Wang here, but no way would the Yanks give him up, they won't even give him up in a Bobby Abreu deal.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 03:43 PM) But.Her.Face. Everything is great BUT her face. Butcherface has pretty much the same sort of meaning though doesn't it.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) So did you actually play MLB 2k5? Also if you play on PS2, you don't really have a right to complain about graphics. It's the platform silly. Thank you. Tell me you've never played a PC EA game before and tell me you haven't been impressed with the graphics. And it's only going to be better with the XBOX 360. It seems like people are b****ing about EA, for the sake of b****ing on EA, because they have a monopoly on the market yada, yada, yada, and not because the games are actually GOOD.

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) We ought to trade Jon Garland, Joe Crede, and Aaron Rowand. Then turn around and use him to get Randy Johnson... We'll win the world series for sure... Hell throw in Jose Contreas just for the hell of it... I don't believe Rowand as ever part of the RJ package.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 11, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) You can't trust Grossman to stay healthy right now. Thank you for the diagnosis Dr. Riviera. -
Ok so this means Josh Byrnes is really gonna be after some more starting pitching now. At the moment they have Webb, Ortiz, Halsey and Vargas. Not exactly front - line material. At least they'll be able to save some salary though.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 10:02 PM) The sox would probably be the only team in a position to offer PK a no trade clause. If he's the team leader they say he is, then putting in that clause wouldn't and shouldn't be an issue. That clause will also help lower the money and may be enough to overcome another teams offer of say 5 or 6 years I say a 4 yr deal for $50 mill with a no trade clause, is more than fair. I actually think if the Dodgers are desperate enough, and you don't know what McCourt's feeling right now, they could offer him 5 years with a no trade clause. They really worry me now when it comes to Paulie. I still think he's gonna end up with around a 65/5 deal from somewhere though. Matsui's contract is probably set the market for him, and he'll definitely want more salary wise.

QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Germanic Studies Pros: You get to speak German Did you not understand the speaking German aspect? You can scare the f*** out of anyone while yelling in German Cons: Christ, who cares? You're speaking German! German is a part of my (possible) triple major, and I love it. You forgot the going over to Germany and enjoying the Oktoberfest as well. Currently I'm studying Business majoring in Accounting and Finance like quite a few other people here (like Jason, Greasy I think, and KJean). It's pretty much the majors that are most popular if you do business, and will probably most help get you a job out of grad school. That said, I still really wanna work in the sports industry in the States, somehow if that oppurtunity opens up.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) Yeah, St. Clair sucked with the Rams big time. Yep didn't last long at all. And they brought in Turley and now Barron at RT.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) SHOCKING! Unless Orton completely blows the next few weeks After his performance against New Orleans, and games coming up against the defences of Carolina, Atlanta and Tampa Bay, don't you think this is actually possible? Especially with only 1 good WR target in Muhammed. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Yessir. Learned everything he knows from Orlando Pace....I hope. St. Clair. Haha, oh man you guys are screwed.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) No shock there. Right now the Dodgers are a mess though, with no manager and no GM. I was hoping they would try to upgrade at one of the corner outfield spots, but it doesn't suprise me they're going after Konerko. He'd be a real GOOD fit there.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 07:52 AM) I HATE any sort of public speaking. I had to give a presentation again in a fairly large class today. I hate those nervous jitters. Was my greatest fear in my life about 5 years ago. I used to HATE that. Now I'm not so bad. Just a confidence thing I guess.
