Did You Know?
And here I thought this thread was going to be some reason why the Bears won't do anything in the playoffs. I'm disappointed Alex.

Bulls @ trailblazers.
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) This season is going to be frustrating... I still think we can get the 7th or 8th spot in the playoffs but it will be tough. Chandler has been playing like s*** and I think its obvious he doesnt fit in the C position. So one of the main goals in the off-seaosn should be a starting C and im hoping we can grab Nazr Mohammed. The East actually looks pretty good this season. You've got teams like Orlando, Charlotte, Boston etc. who are going to be fighting tooth and nail for one of those playoff spots.

Flying Under The Radar
YAY. Australia's going to World Cup next year in 2006. We just beau Uruguay on penalties to qualify for the 1st time in 32 years. Hopefully we draw the same group as America, so we can have an easy win.

Levine says there's a lot of interest in Marte
So many teams are desperate for bullpen help e.g Arizona, Florida, Colorado etc. We should be able to get a good deal out of this, if that's the course of action KW takes.

Federov dealt to the Blue Jackets
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) nash hasnt been playing. Yeah I know, which is the major reason they've struggled. When he comes back though, along with Federov, surely they'll pickt hings up offensively.

Prospect Smackdown: McCarthy vs. Baker
QUOTE(heirdog @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) Where are broadway and valido in his top 20? I think broadway would be ahead of lumsden on down and valido would be ahead of lopez. I like that antoin gray cracked the top 20 though. I'm assuming he was reviewing the top 20 that he had at the start of the 2005 season, hence why Broadway wasn't on it.

Flying Under The Radar
Why Dwight Howard is going to be a monster - 21 points and 17 rebounds midway thru the 4th quarter.
-
Federov dealt to the Blue Jackets
Nash - Federov - Zherdev is going to be a very nice scoring line assuming they play together.

Free Agent Player's Priorities
QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) So you would value being a starter over being the backup? How many free agents don't wish they had signed with the White Sox during the past off season? Of course every player wants to start. In some cases, like I said in my first post, you may have a veteran player with declining skills, who could get a backup job with a good team to help him be part of that world series win. Of course a lot of free agents right now are gonna be annoyed they didn't sign with the White Sox. This off-season and in the future though, I think a lot more FA's are going to be open to heading to the Southside, especially if we keep KW and Ozzie around for a while yet.

Free Agent Player's Priorities
QUOTE(Texsox @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) Imagine the free agent market if every player said, I don't care about the money, get me to the Braves or Yankees, I want to play in the post season. But the players should be smart enough to realise, on the right team they can make a definite impact, and help push that team over the edge. For example if you're a catcher, and all of the good teams already have catchers who have better abilities than you, than you're gonna be hard-pressed to sign with one of those good teams. Of course if you're say Rafael Furcal, and the Yanks and the Royals offer you the exact same deal, of course you're going to want to play for the Yanks. That's why those low revenue franchises have to build with young players (like the Indians have done), and try to catch some breaks on the FA market like they did with Kevin Millwood.

Free Agent Player's Priorities
It depends on the player and their situation. Say for instance B.J Ryan, could take a little less money and not be a closer to help him win a World Series Ring. And personally I think more players should be like him, because that's what you play Baseball for. And I know Tex we've discussed quite a bit on this over the last year or 2 about this subject, like Maggilo Ordonez getting that offer from Detroit, but you know right now he would probably like to be back with the White Sox after the success we've had. And signing a big contract, doesn't necessarily make you happy. Ivan Rodriguez is an excellent candidate to be traded because he wants to win, and the team may use that money elsewhere etc.
