QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) I know they can get slap singles, but I'm not completely sure they have the best bat control in the world to be that effective at the top of the order. Basically I did a quick google search and this is majorly what I found;

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 11:38 PM) I love Pierre but there really is no where to play him unless like you said Aaron gets dealt for something else. To be honest I don't recall seeing Juan play the outfield very often so I really have no opinion on his defense one way or the other. Over the past 3 seasons, Pierre's RAA (Runs Above Average at this position) has been -14, -11 and -6. Aaron Rowand's was 2 in 2004 and 7 in 2005.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) I love the idea of a 1-2 of Pods and Pierre, especially if we have a lot of power at first base and DH with Dye batting fifth. Of course our OF defense will definitely be weakened. It also means that 1 of Pods or Pierre probably won't be around in 2007 I'd say, considering the OF prospects we have waiting in the wings.

Anybody think a 3 way trade, with Rowand going to the Yanks, Pavano to the Marlins and Pierre to the White Sox is possible? Of course, prospects would have be included, and salary as well.

So I see 1 thread with people trying to say she looks nice, and this one where quite clearly she's not. Conundrum.

I spent over $750 on suits, shirts, ties and shorts for my new job today. The suits alone (I bought 2) were $600. At least they look good (they better for that price).

Lots of stories in the papers today about Pierre possibly to the Sox;

QUOTE(beck72 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) It clearly looks like the marlins are trying to take a page out of the Billy Beane handbook--cut payroll but still stay competitive. Can't say I blame them with how few fans showed up, even when they got Delgado. Say this trade pulls off e.g Danks is included. Florida's rotation next season could look like this; Willis Vargas Olson Moehler Valdez Shows how badly they need that new stadium though, and how Beinfest has a LOT of work to do.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 10:44 PM) Maybe that 9-1 pasting by Dallas woke their asses up. Speaking of Hockey, what's happened to your team Florida Kap? They've fallen right off the rails.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) Haha, I know, I know. Hold your aplause. In all honesty, I'd wait until the day of the event and try to get tickets off someone who got the weekend package. I wish I could spare a few tickets to fellow Soxtalkers, but as of right now it looks like all my tickets are being used as Jason is bringing his pet chimp as a special guest this year. It will be the first Fest for Bubbles. I hope he's house trained.

Pierre for Pavano + Salary perhaps?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) I don't think so and that is clearly a horrible move by the Marlins on a sidenote. Yeah Jon Daniels first major move as a GM is definitely a good one. They really needed a starter (maybe the prospect could be someone like Diamond?), and Lowell vs. Blalock is actually almost a wash besides the salaries. My guess is Lowell will go back to his previous form, and this season was an aberration.

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) Nothing. But what does that matter? His numbers are better than Konerko's. Brian Giles: .299 .413 .542 .954 Paul Konerko: .279 .349 .488 .837 I love what Konerko did for us in the postseason but give me Giles over Konerko any day of the week. It's an interesting argument though looking at their positions, age etc. We'll see how much Giles is going to regress over the next few seasons.

QUOTE(timotime @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) what did giles ever do for you? Are you ever going to post anything longer than a sentence?

What's that 4 out of 5 they've won now. Looks like Yawney is starting to put his stamp on this team, and the BBC line as you said Keith has been great lately. Hopefully it keeps going.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 05:38 AM) those stast were an aboration. He is really just a lefty specialist. This season he pitched 40 innings against righties and 28 innings against lefties. The only year he pitched more against lefties was in 2002. Not really what I would call a lefty specialist (although of course he's going to pitch a little better against lefties).

QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Nov 19, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Personally I would trade Rowand and Garland for Ichiro, he is that good of a player.. Garland had one good year, I am leary of having him repeat his performance. this would allow anderson and speed in the lineup ElDque as the number 5 again, Bmac at 3 My thing is if He comes here Dye is our new 1b, I don't think we can sign both Ichrio and Paulie. Why would Seattle want Rowand? They've already got Reed in CF (and he played great defense for them too BTW). They're going to need to upgrade the offense way more than that if they're going to trade Ichiro. It takes two to tango. Ichiro means much more to that franchise then a lot of people realize.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) Remember, it's is Sabean. And Eyre has not yet been offered Arbitration. Sabean has until Dec. 7 to fill out the paperwork to steal the Cubs pick. I know he'd skip the paper work if he was getting a 1st rounder, but since the Cubs are in the top 15 draft positions, they can't lose their first rounder. Still, unless the Giants are able to lose their top pick somehow, that would be 3 picks(Their first rounder, a sandwich pick, and the Cubs second rounder) in the top 50-some spots. I thought I heard somewhere that the Giants were changing philosophies, and were actually going to use their 1st round picks this time (might have been BA, dunno). Whether that actually happens, we'll have to wait and see.

QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) I've been saying for a while that Rowand's arm was extremely subpar for him. He's not even in the picture for best throwing CF in the AL. For some reason, he seemed to play pepper with the pitcher's mound whenever he tried to throw someone out at home. I'm 99 pct sure he didn't have an outfield assist at home plate this season. He had 3 assists this season.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan1022 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) but he did have one of the stronger arms in the AL Ok then. So who had a better arm in the AL then Aaron Rowand?
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan1022 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) First thats ESPN, second have you watched any sox games this year??? come on aaron has a good arm, not great, but it isnt horrable like you stated earlier. And it is way better then Pods, or Pierre's arm No-one is saying Rowand's arm is as bad as Pods or Pierre's, but it's not STRONG as you said. He's an excellent defensive outfielder for sure, but his arm isn't the reason.
-
QUOTE(whitesoxfan1022 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) Wait one second...are you trying to say Rowand has a weak arm? you have got to be kidding me. You must have made a typo, or I am reading it wrong because Rowand has a strong arm in the outfield From ESPN - " He has quickened his release and overall his arm is considered adequate." I wouldn't consider adequate to be strong.

Good news on the Dodger front;
