  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) I don't believe Randa is a free agent. Could of sworn he signed a 2 year deal last offseason. Terrible deal for the Padres either way. What were they thinking? Joe Randa: signed deal for 2005 season worth 2.15M on 12/21/04- + he receives a 100K assignment bonus if traded- + was traded to SD on 7/23/05, giving him a 100K bonus Agent: Ron Shapiro Service Time: 10.000 (as of May 30th, 2005)
  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:07 PM) and we gained 5 whats your point? Tim Thomas+Michael Sweetney+Darius Songaila>>>Eddy Curry+Antonio Davis+Jared Reiner? Not saying the Bulls are a top team in the East but IMO they will finish ahead of Milwaukee. I wouldn't say Tim Thomas is better than anybody.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) Ha, now can we get Aubrey Huff? If they're serious, they should trade him for some good young pitching. Considering they have an OF of Crawford, Baldelli and Gomes, with Young waiting in the wings, and Joey Gathright, move Huff while his value is still quite high. Hopefully for the franchise's sake, the payroll starts going up with the new ownership as well.

    Summer Internships

    SnB, I hope you have more luck than I had looking for Vacation Work. The Chicago Exchange sounds like a good place though, we even learnt a little bit about it in one of my finance courses down here, because don't they still record transactions on a big blackboard or something?
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) I never said he was I dont think Texas would even trade him.... but if we lose Garland for one of those other players u mentioned id be very very pissed..... unlike with Teix in which id be happy with it. Yeah I get what you're saying, you'd hate to lose Garland unless it weas for a superstar like Tex, which isn't going to happen anyway, so we might as well keep him. I think though if we want say Thome or Howard, Pat Gillick's probably gonna ask for B-Mac or Garland since they want real good young starting pitching. Arizona maybe too for a Chad Tracy, unless they wanted prospects like Dan Haigwood etc.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) And he gets put into RFK...where if he can turn himself back into a 15+ game winner, all of a sudden he becomes far more valuable on the trading block. Yeah. Washington just needs a third baseman now, unless they want to give the position to Ryan Zimmerman full - time already. Hate to say it, Jim Bowden actually made a good move for once.
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) I'm sure Paul would love the bench during interleague as well. Boston don't worry me with Paulie. Sure they're probably gonna offer a big deal, but Paulie has said before, he doesn't want to live in Boston and the East Coast. So really only the Padres (if they lose Giles), the Dodgers and the Angels worry me.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) Holy crap, could you butcher his name any worse? Probably not. Man I'm getting qwerty like in my posts. Ugh. :banghead
  9. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) Especially at Petco. RFK was an extreme pitchers park and now he lands in another. I imagine that lawrence must make a lot of money so this is a bad salary swap? What about Joe Randa? Was he a free agent or something? I would have though he'd be in SD for awhile. This might be the final nail in the Sean Burroughs coffin in California Washington were looking for starters so I think this is a pretty good trade for them. He was terrible this season no doubt, but he won 15 games in 2004, and he's an innings eater.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) I believe Randa was a Free Agent, which is one of the reasons his name popped on the surface in trade talks in the first place. Yeah so it's pretty much a given Randa won't be back with the Padres now. Maybe he'll wind up in somewhere like Minny?
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) Chad Tracy and only Chad Tracy. Thank you.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) The only way Id be ok with Garland going is if it brought us Teixiera....A course there would prob be more to the trade than just those 2 but thats what id ultimately want. Teixeira ain't coming to us for the simple reason Scott Bora$$ is his agent. That's why it's realistic you're seeing Overbay, Tracy, Thome and Howard come up in these rumors instead.
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 09:53 AM) He's been at some of the hangouts, I presume he's ok, just busy. Don't really know. C'mon Jim we need some updates here.
  14. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 10:17 AM) Already? Seriously? These threads are coming up already? Dear Soxtalk, Pace Yourself. Sincerely, AddisonStSox What else do you think we're meant to talk about in the off-season?
  15. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) Is Tracy a good 3rd-sacker? I know he played there but not sure about his D. Tony Clark was awesome for them last eyar but that team doesn't know if its coming or going. THey have top prospects ready but are held down by Vets. Thats fine if you are a winning team like the Angels but the Dbacks aren't very good. Teacy's not a good defensive 3rd baseman. That's basically why they signed Glaus to play 3rd base for them last off-season. They just didn't see the offensive explosion Tracy would have in his 2nd season. They are loaded with prospects, especially position players, but they need upgrades in their bullpen and some good young pitching prospects.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) FOCKING BASTAGE KW WHAT THE FOCK??? VINNY CASTILLA IS BETTER THAN FOCKING CREDE FOCK Favorite Vinny stat of the day; A .683 OPS in away games. Doesn't that just ooze "Trade for Me!!!!"
  17. QUOTE(Wanne @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 09:24 AM) Thank you! I can't see why everybody has such a woody for this guy. And in my opinion...there's NO WAY the DBack part with Tracy...NONE! Their infield soon will look like Tracy at 3rd, Drew at SS, Cintron at 2nd and Conner Jackson at 1B. But their pitching pretty much sucks. It all depends on whether they can trade Troy Glaus. If they can, Tracy stays at 3rd, and it's the perfect solution for them. If they can't, Tracy's the best trading chip they have for the young pitching they need. And I don't know if Jackson is even going to stick at 1B for them long - term, he's terrible defensively. Would be perfect as an AL DH though.
  18. QUOTE(rangercal @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 06:33 AM) on the home page ( don't know how to post it) The leading vote getter and with 44 % of the votes, The Chicago Bulls With the way Milwaulkee have started and Cleveland demolishing the Hornets last night, can anyone say it's suprising?
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) Why do you assume it will cripple us in the future? Because of his chronic injuries like his hip condition, IIRC.
  20. No suprise there with Konerko. If a team is willing to do that long of a deal, they'll probably get him.
  21. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) typical of a bar where most people are sox fans watching the sox game... Well I'm sorry, that's just not good enough.
  22. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) I see no reason why curry doesn't average 12 rebounds a game this year. He will have alot of rebound opportunities with all those low percentage shooters on the knicks. 6TO's for Jamal Crawford tonight. How long before Larry Brown goes to Isaiah and demands a trade there?
  23. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) Losing to the Celtics = LOL. That is like losing to the Magic. Right Dbaho? Ahh c'mon we're not bad. I'll take Dwight Howard over any of your b****es that's for sure.
  24. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) ' You would say that. You know me too well.
