  1. Jermaine Dye in June and July; June - .337/.404/.596. July - .444/.545/1.111
  2. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) Richard Justice said on PTI today that there is NO CHANCE the Astros are going to trade Clemens. He is one of the best baseball reporters in the business and follows the Astros closely as he works for the Houston Chronicle. And why would you, when it looks like they may even trade for Adam Dunn to boost their lineup. And we all saw how good they were in the 2nd half of the season last year.
  3. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:06 AM) Can an admin change my description to "Sit Back, Relax, Strap It Down" Or just "Strap It Down" Thanks in advance. Done.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) On another note, I read today that Billy Wagner is asking for a trade to a contender because he is contimplating retirement. I think the Red Sox will have him pretty high on their "Guys to trade for" list at the moment.

    QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 08:02 AM) JD has really heated up. I called that bomb yesterday, his hot zones seem to be growing everyday. Low and inside, low and away, high and inside, he has been the man. He also hits the ball the other way a lot, especially on his home runs, a lot to right center this season.
  6. Sign with the Cavs, but I'm not Redd so he'll re-up with the Bucks. Cavs should throw a max offer Joe Johnson's way ASAP.
  7. All right this thread has gone haywire seriously. I'm going to close it for a while, and I'll re-open it later. EDIT: Ok I'm opening it back up.

    Dye

    So long as he stays healthy, he should post over 30 home runs, and come around 100 RBI's, which is what a lot of people thought he could do at the Cell at the start of the year. Welcome aboard as well.
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:50 AM) You're catching on since you've been here At least I'm not as bad as qwerty.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:48 AM) I don't pay enough attention to the what if's so I honestly had no idea. Weird he said it last month... were there talks about it back then..? Although.. last month was only 5 days ago. With the way the Astros were playing before the last few weeks, a lot of people thought it was a certainity that he would be dealt, since there was an agreement b/w McLane and Clemens that he would be dealt to a world series contender if the Astros were out of the playoff race. But with the way they've been playing lately, and considering it might only take around 85-90 wins for the NL Wild Card, I don't think they'll trade him.
  11. Look at Esteban Loaiza before he discovered the cutter, and look at him afterwards. Just something to consider on McCarthy, and what the Sox should be teaching him.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:45 AM) Thanks DBAHO. That's ok Steff, I knew there was something on it, but it's been discussed so much, it was actually pretty hard to find where he actually said it.
  13. Burnett will get more than $10 million a season in a long - term deal. Book it.
  14. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:42 AM) yes we all know its maddux, I would love to see him turn out 1/2 as good as that. But something is wrong with him and they need to fix it.. even in triple-a he sucks. Is that because it's his first season in AAA, and it's a major hitters park? Of course not many people probably realize this point last year, he was pitching for the Warthogs in high A ball.
  15. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:36 AM) So you would want unhealthy and unproductive jason Schimdt? Please explain how it would be easier to resign Js over AJ? He has an option for next season. Burnett does not.
  16. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:34 AM) That we would want AJ burnett, over an Unhealthy Jason Schimdt.. And that AJ would be an easier Sign for us that Jason would... Show us a suitable trade for Mr. Burnett, and how much you would re-sign him for.
  17. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:30 AM) Lowe is a ground ball pitcher, there are a couple of games with better D, he wins another 4-5 games.. The Dodgers actually have pretty good infield defense, besides whoever they put at third base, which was always going to be a problem for them.
  18. This is what Kotex Boy said in his latest piece; And then there's this;
  19. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:22 AM) Or Lowe's numbers would be better with the better defense behind him? BWAHAHAHAHA. So you think Lowe's numbers would be better for us, despite the fact he would pitch his home games at the Cell instead of Dodger Stadium?
  20. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 07:13 AM) Its called being a realist, most people here are in fairyland, and think things are great before this season. We still have # 5 starter issues since OH can't stay healthy, we have Garland and Marky playing their asses off, and Freddy showing signs of his former self. B-mac looks like Felix Diaz part 2 so far, granted the kid is young, but all that hype and never was able to get it going in the majors or triple-A.. I like where we are at, just think things could be better, sorry If I want to fix the flaws that we have in the sox, and not just settle for a playoff berth. Freddy Garcia in June : 3-0, 2.84 ERA What moves would you make now (come up with a suitable A.J Burnett trade).
  21. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 06:54 AM) http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=733128 Thank you qwerty. Good reading ahead.
  22. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 06:50 AM) I answered the 16 questions.. Just to bad you didn't like the replys... Let see here Derek Lowe or B-Mac.. Hmmm who would I rather have? One makes $9 million, the other makes $300,000 and has half a season of experience above AA. Nice comparison. Can you show me where you answered the questions as well, I must have missed it.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 06:50 AM) Is there a source for that quote? IIRC there was a source a while back saying he would only play for the Yankees if he was traded and no-one else, or at least that's the general consensus.
  24. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 06:46 AM) All I have to say is KC in 03... But if we had Derek Lowe it's all good right? 1-5, record since June with an ERA above 5.
  25. Anthrax I refer you to my signature for those 16 questions that still remain unanswered; And on the OC thing, Joe Crede has finished well over the past few seasons after stinking it up in the 1st half, does that make him a good player?
