  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 05:52 PM) I appreciate man, but it's a high school graduation, basically making it pointless imo and a waste of time, and cause me to miss the game. Just make sure you sit next to the closest hot chick possible (like I did (and no it wasn't my sister whiteoxin')).
  2. I cringe when I hear the name Ken Griffey mentioned around these parts, without mentioning Austin Kearns or Willy Mo Pena first at least.
  3. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) Your idea #1 is awesome. Someone please send it to BOyer.....anyone have his address? It should be on the letter to Brooks thread that is pinned on the main page.
  4. And also, Willie >>> Nick Punto and Luis Rivas. Inanimate Carbon Rod >>>>> Timo.
  5. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) Let's trade for Ken Griffey Jr. Put Dye at first, get rid of Konerko and we have a set OF and 1B. Dye has actually been looking like the Dye we thought we were getting except with that knee, he can't get to that many balls. Also, when KGJ goes down, you have Everett there to play for him so it all fits well. You got $50 million to give JR for 100 days of service a year from Mr. Griffey Jr.?
  6. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 5, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Can he be banned right now? No, there's no admin on unfortunately.
  7. Currently listening to the new Coldplay CD X and Y.
  8. Tom, How's Fields doin on the pitch low and away still. IIRC you said that was his main problems a week or 2 back, which was the same problem A-Row had early last year. If he trying to pull the ball too much, or is hitting the opposite way on that pitch?
  9. Can someone post how many fans we've drawn so far this season, compared to this time last year?
  10. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) I do not know, that is why I am asking the question. I can pull out threads if you want me to from the past, but we were told in April and May that we should not worry about it then and everything would be fine come June.....so now 23K on a Fri night is fine????? It's the friggin first week of June. Wait for the crowd over the weekend at least FFS.
  11. Can I just say it's not like the Sox brass are doing nothing to make us come to the games or anything. What about the job Brooks Boyer has done? What about the new packages and upgrades at the ballparks? If you build it, they will come............. eventually.
  12. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) 1. Attendance is as valid a discussion as b****ing about Oz, Crede, etc. 2. It's almost pointless because I would venture to guess that most who post here attend as many games as possible and are doing their part. I haven't attended 1 Sox game in my life. Does that make me a bad person?
  13. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) Of course so would 29 other GMs, but we would have more of a realistic shot to get someone like him when he is on the market because we would actually have the $ to even talk to him. Right now, we do not even bother thinking about the ARods and Tejadas of the world because we are forced to get DeAngelo Jimenez and Juan focking Uribe because we do not have the $ to go after the studs. ANd the reason we do not have the $ is because we do not have the attendance other teams do (not the only reason but a big reason) I am going to be really pissed if we let Garland go in the offseason because we do not have the $. We need to re-sign Garland, re-sign Frank (at a new contract, not the one that exists), replace Paulie with at least a decent 1B and replace Crede with a better 3B to continue to be competitive. We were going to pay Maggs Tejada money before his injured his knee remember. If you want to go for a team that spends $20 million on each player, go root for the Yankees or something. Just because you don't spend lots and lots of money does NOT mean you can't be successful. Look at Minnesota Twins and the Oakland Athletics over the past 3 to 4 years. It is hard, but yes it is possible. Garland is going NOWHERE. We control his rights for 1 more season, and the Sox showed they are willing to resign these type of players who are in arbitration etc. Juan Uribe got resigned to a 3 year deal and so did Aaron Rowand. Payroll has gone up continously over the past 4 to 5 seasons, there's no reason to think if we keep winning and make the playoffs, that won't continue.
  14. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) No doubt in my mind Kenny would get the best available if he had the resources. If you have doubts, you must not be paying attention to everything Kenny has been doing for a while now. So would 29 other GM's.
  15. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) I would not b**** if it did not have any effect on our ability to win games every year. Facts are it does, and I want my team to win every year, so b****ing about this is fair game. Nothing different than say b****ing about any of Ozzie's moves. Should only those people whohave coached be allowed to b**** about Ozzie too then in your opinion? The reason we keep experimenting with inconsistent boobs like Uribe and that 2B who just got cut by the Reds is because of our inability to pay for top talent every year. If we did nto have attendance issues, we would have Tejada currently instead of Uribe, and we would be looking at a pennant in Chicago guaranteed. Now, we have to hope and pray we can make the right moves every year. We would have Tejada?
  16. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) Once again, get back to me at the end of the season. Answer the question now.
  17. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) I recall a time when Cotts' career ERA was 5.49. Oh wait, it still is! GMAFB. I recall a time when it's 2.49 below that career ERA. Oh wait that's now. Maybe he's just getting better. And I ask you again Jabroni. Do you still think Kevin Walker has the POTENTIAL to be a better pitcher than Neal Cotts?
  18. With the 15th selection in the 2005 Major League Baseball Draft, the Chicago White Sox select RHP Wade Townsend out of the University of Rice. (bring forward your props peoples).
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Heh, that's the way it always is here. Cotts had a great outing for once and now he's the best reliever on the team after Hermanson. Who said he was the best reliever on the team? And how is this his only GREAT outing?
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) Is your hot sister coming? Thankfully not.
  21. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 4, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) I bow down to the Cocks tonight. He was the key to winning the game. Cocks?
