  1. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 11:48 PM) I wonder if DBAH0 has seen this. No I haven't Knight (spent all day at the footy, watching the WORST game ever), but thanks for the heads up. They do need another safety, but they need a cover / free safety, and they can probably get one in the 3rd or 4th. I went for Jamaal Brown, although Pollak was tempting. Our LB'ers are ok chi-guy2, Scott Shanle came in for the last 3 games and really did a great job, Al Singelton has played on Tampa's Championship team, and was injured for most of last season, while we've got Dat Nguyen who's a tackling machine, and Bradie James who should keep improving. Brown gives us a good RT, and pretty much make our OL complete, which will be really, really, really important with Drew Bledsoe at QB. Torrin Tucker and Kurt Vollers will make good reserves along with Andre Gurode and Peterman. We had problems stopping the run last season, because our D-Line was horribly undersized, Marcellus Wiley was a bust, and we've taken steps to improve that by signing Jason Ferguson as the nose tackle in the 4-3 or 3-4, and Anthony Henry who not only is a good cover corner, but he's one of the best run stopping CB's in this league because of his size.
  2. And some other stats so far (thru games as of 4/8/05) OBP - .286 BA/RISP - .167 ISO - .167 SLG - .420 FIP - 3.28 G/F - 1.82 IF/Fly - .235 K/9 - 7.3 BB/9 - 3.1
  3. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) He's got a ways to go DB ....He's +3 with one round left. Dang, he was at like -3 yesterday stupid Augusta.
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) Unless you finish the above with "without a left arm" then it's not a true statement. I should have put that another way. He's a fantastic starting pitcher. However his record in early innings and early in seasons, isn't fantastic.
  5. Happy Happy Birthday!!!!
  6. Damn I should head out to my buddies place down the street and see if I can watch the game on his TV considering he has ESPN (thanks stupid cable provider). Should be a great game though.
  7. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) I don't care how Minnesota reasons with these losses. If our club defeats Santana tomorrow even their club can't possibly act indifferent. Or continue this "It's just April" reasoning. Our 3rd/5th starters outdueled their 2nd/4th starters. If Buehlre pitches on par with Santana, whom I'm expecting to be dominant, our hitters would have battled the best Minnesota has. Rincon and Nathan will undoubtedly pitch if needed, so any victory earned will be hard fought and well earned. However, let's remember several members of our lineup haven't seen Cy Santana. Iguchi will be overwhelmed, and you can likely forget about any production from our new LH hitters, Podsednik and Pierzsyski. Someone needs to step up, or atleast resist swinging at his changeup in the dirt. It can't possibly be that difficult I'm liking our chances tomorrow very much so as well. Santana isn't a good starter, early in innings, and in April in general. There's a good chance the Sox could get out to an early lead on him, and all we'd need is for Mark to do his job and pitch well to keep that lead hopefully.
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) 6 innings. 3 runs. That's a quality start. Five in a row for our starting rotation! I'd take that from Jon every day of the week. We should definitely be able to score more than 3 runs in most games, especially with half our games at the Cell. If the bullpen do their job, Garland will have a good year with regular outings like that.
  9. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) Let uribe rest Sunday That'd probably be my idea too, don't want to overwork Juan too hard, even if it's still definitely early. Be good to see how Ozuna goes against Santana.
  10. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) It's so nice to have speed this year. And it's paying off especially at the top of the order. Will be really good to see what type of impact it has on Pods and Iguchi scoring runs when the Big Hurt comes back into the #3 hole most likely.

    Silva gone!

Now let's see how the Twinkies handle having someone different as their 5th starter. Will they crash and burn like we did last season? Will be definitely something to be keeping an eye on, especially with Joe Mays in the 4 spot as well. They'll need Lohse to step up.
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) On the contrary. It means plenty as we are beating the teams in our division. Not only that, but we are beating the teams that the "experts" say will finish above us in the standings. These games are big. These games against the division rivals are the ones we didn't really have a great record in last season, especially against the Tiggies, who we really played a lot against. It's definitely way too early, but every game we can win against someone in our division (minus the Royals because they ain't going to be in it, even though we should be looking to win every game against them) is a good little bonus.
  13. I'll ask this question in another way. Is Eddy Curry worth more than double of Sam Dalembert, because he's going to re-signed for more than double of what Dalembert is probably going to get.
  14. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) This is the most over-rated statistic ever. They are on totally different teams. I could understand if they were on the same team and you compare them with those stats. Philly is not a good team, any medicore player can look like he makes the team better when on the court. Ok so since by your reasoning Dalembert is mediocre because he's on a bad team, others like AI are bad because they have negative percent when they're on the court (yet then when he's not on the court, they do even worse). How can a player be BAD, if they play on a bad team, yet the team plays better when they're on the court? What would Eddy Curry stats be if he played in Philly instead of Chicago? How come the team as a whole plays better when he's not on the court?
  15. For rangercal because when in rome.... Now here's the argument on Dalembert; He's NOT going to get a max contract, like Eddy Curry will. He could be had for the mid - level exception for the next 5 seasons. Do you think Golden State would have loved to give him that instead of forking out $40 million over 6 years for THE Adonal Foyle? For those who think he scores nothing but dunks, have a look at the stats; Eddy Curry - 16.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, .92 blocks per game, 730 FG's attempted Sam Dalembert - 8.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.69 blocks per game (he had 2.3 blocks per game last season). He ranks 13th in the NBA for rebounds per 48 mins (14.6), and 12th in the NBA for blocks per 48 mins (3.27). Now Dalembert has had 300 less shots than Eddy Curry this year, and if he came to the Bulls that number would rise. AI would have at least 20 shots per game, and Webber would have about 15, plus you've got Korver lighting up from the outside, and Jackson and Igoudola. When Eddy Curry is on the court, the Bulls are 2.1% worse off. When he is off the court, the Bulls are 3.2% better off. When Sam Dalembert is on the court, the 76ers and 0.9% better off. When he is off the court, they are 2.9% worse off. This site shows the diff in stats b/w the two; Salembert is +1.3 above the average (*PER), while Curry is +4.2, the main difference being Curry is down in rebounding, turnovers, blocks and assists, but he's way ahead in scoring. The Bulls have to decide whether or not they are willing to live with Curry's shortcomings in the other areas of his game other than his scoring. http://www.82games.com/04CHI13C.HTM How do Curry and Chandler play on the same court together? Not good, at a -7, something to keep in mind for the future. http://www.82games.com/0405CHIP.HTM Looking at PER Diff vs. On / Off Court Diff, Curry comes off with a -1.8, while Dalembert has a +1.2.
  16. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) 'Sheed scores. Rasheed Wallace in Portland. 19.2 PPG in 00-01, 18.1 PPG in 01-02, 17 PPG in 02-03 Rasheed Wallace in Detroit 13.7 PPG in 03-04, 14.9 PPG in 04-05. Wallace has sacrificed his game in order for the good of the team.
  17. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) The same Sam Dalembert who was being benched by the 76ers, earlier this year?? Hell no. Chandler does everything he does and is better at it. Dalembert and Chandler would just get in each other's way and that would equal no offense. I understand defense is important, but offense is important as well. Many other players have had heart problems. In fact, two pretty good players(can't remember names, but it was noted on the radio had irregular heartbeats and they were nothing more than a simple complication. Dalembert You can thank Jim O' Brien for that benching, simply because they had Marc Jackson to hit the mid range jumper. Now Dalembert has started like the past 30 to 40 games, and puts up double - doubles almost every night. You put Dalembert and Chandler together and teams won't want to drive inside against the Bulls, they'll have to settle for outside shots all night long, and with Kirk, Deng etc on the perimeter, the Bulls will be better. Detroit have shown you don't need your C and PF to be great scorers to be sucessful in this league.
  18. The old IGN predictions, screw those so called experts, these are the only ones that matter; http://sports.ign.com/articles/602/602324p1.html MVP 2005 predicted us to win the division, and beat the Yankees in the Div Playoffs, but lose to the Red Sox. MLB 2K5 also predicted us to win the division, but alas we lose to the Yankess in the Div Playoffs. MLB 2006 predicted us to come 3rd with a 80-82 record, and get this, the Royals win with a 96-66 record.
  19. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) I didn't say that. I said they need a center. Lots of NBA players are not worth what they signed. Hell, most atheletes in general are not worth what they are paid, but that is a whole different discussion. Lots of NDa players are only good at scoring. Some are only good at defense. They still make the team better. Is Eddie one of those? I don't know, that's why I asked who would be out there. Are the Bulls gonna start Othella Harrington next year? While I love what he has contributed this year, put him in the starting roll, he will be toast. I suggested Dalembert. He's easily got double - double potential every night, even though most of his points will come from dunks, put - backs etc. They could always trade Curry for a pick and try to draft Bogut, the European dude Ankruslivicus? or Chris Taft. And they could always try to make a sign and trade deal like they did with JC. All I'm saying is that Curry's not worth a max contract at all, and the Bulls would be wise to check all of their options to upgrade this team. You sign Marshall and Dalembert, and this team not only gets deeper, it greatly improves on rebounding and defense.
  20. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) They DO need a center, who can post up and score, so in no Eddie, who is out there they can sign? So it's worth signing Curry just because he can score, despite the fact he doesn't play defense, can't rebound and could balloon his weight when he signs a long - term deal like so many other centers have done?
  21. Ahh yes the masses are converting even more. Ship him to Atlanta, sign Sam Dalembert and sign Donyell Marshall. The Bulls are a bonafide contender.
  22. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) *bump* I'd pin this, but we have a lot of stuff up there.... I did some spring cleaning. Nice job as always Ian and Goldy.
