  1. That's the Mark Buerhle we all love to see out there on the mound, and he showed today how big of a loss he would have been if his ankle injury was more serious. On Ryan Franklin, he was very lucky to make the Seattle rotation, and I think the M's are glad he's there now. If Sele and Franklin can keep pitching well, so long as Beltre and Sexson keep slugging, the M's are a good sleeper team.
  2. That's easy to see why, we're not on a coast, so therefore we're not recognised.
  3. Most of the time we don't have to do much anyways, at least over the past few months which has been good, but for a site that has over 2000 members, yeah I'd probably say that's about right.
  4. Jabroni, if we lose this, you can't start game threads when we're going for a sweep ok.
  5. LOL @ McNabb and Mitchell, definitely one of the funnier cartoons. Also found this picture;

    Sep 11, 1985 9 + 11 + 1985 = 2005 2 + 0 + 0 + 5 = 7
  8. Things are starting to get interesting;
  9. Larry Miller, I certainly hope you don't end up with him;
  10. Sep 11, 1985 US - Money for Nothing - Dire Straits UK - Dancing in the Street - David Bowie and Mick Jagger
  11. Is Adrian Beltre going to play? IIRC, yahoo said he had back stiffness or something like that. Be a huge loss for the M's if he didn't play.
  12. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) Twins 3 Dmitri: Stoopid Now imagine if that was a Jay Gibbons or Frank Catalanotto saying it about the Yankees or Red Sox, ESPN and the nat. media would be all over it. "Uh, don't get me wrong, the Yankees and Red Sox aren't bad, but I think when it's all said and done it'll be between the Blue Jays and us".
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) And it is usually the same people who do all of the complaining, which tells me all I need to know about the thread. Some people you just don't pay any attention to, because all they do is complain. I think that's becoming pretty clear right about now, and everyone knows who those people are.
  14. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) Until he gains some control, Cotts isn't going to reach his potential. He needs to be at Charlotte working on that. Cough..... 33K's, 13 BB's after the all - star break last season. Gees you'd think he's pitching the way he did that 1 time in 2003 in Arizona. The funny thing is with Cotts though, he has much better splits against righties than left, yet most of his walks do come against righties, if that make sense somehow.
  15. Marlin Jackson. They need a CB with Kelly Herndon gone to Seattle.
  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) You could at least get what i said right... :banghead This, the, it's all good.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) WHY ARE WE YELLING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? So I can hear for once.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) Who's Steve? That's fine though. I will make yours. SuperSteve. You've been warned.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) Yes, because Cruddy is going to hit for a higher average than those guys this season, right? Dye and Uribe are making what about $7,500,000-$8,000,000 combined this season right? And Crede about $400,000 IIRC. I'll remember this statement if Crede turns it around don't worry.
  20. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) Just because you're a Sox fan doesn't mean you're automatically forced to defend our scrubs. You can admit that we have our share of crappy players and still be a Sox fan. It isn't a crime. The fact is that Cotts and Cruddy are our scrubs. And how much are they costing us? If you're bagging Cruddy every second, why not Juan Uribe as well? In the last 7 days, Crede has an AVG of .286, and you know he's going to pick it up on his power stroke. Every team has problems, but it's when you get desperate and start looking into players like THE Vinny Castilla, (for an extra what approx $3 mill BTW) that there lies your problem. We have Josh Fields, and he'll be ready by 2007, Crede knows he's on thin ice this season, and has motivation to play well. Hell, let's bag A-Row while we're it because he's been hitting real bad except for the last 2 days.
  21. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) He hasn't been any good for the entire 3 years that he's been on the roster and he hasn't gained any control either. He's still the same wild pitcher. This is his 2nd year as a reliever now. Cotts's stats are perplexing, but right now he's still the best option. He goes through flunks (0.90 ERA last April), but he improved his K/BB ratio from about 1.5 to 2.5 after the All Star Break last season. He's there as our 6th option in the pen, if there's a better pitcher right now who should be taking his spot, suggest it, but just be glad we've got Shingo, Hermanson, Vizcaino, Politte and Marte in front of him.
  22. As qwerty once said, lol @ this title.
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) Well, even if Walker isn't the guy that doesn't mean Cotts deserves a roster spot either. And how many appearances has Cotts had so far? I was for him starting in AAA but that didn't happen, but that doesn't mean the solution is going to be better than the problem.
