  1. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 02:07 AM) sounds like hes going to work his but off And that means no more dirt bikes in the off-season either.
  2. Well how was Day 1 of SoxFest for everyone who went. I want details.
  3. Anyone who doesn't believe A-Row won't work his butt off, read this, and his goals for 2005;
  4. Charles is doing the right thing, I guess the Royal Family is counting its blessing that Williams is second in line to the throne and not Harry. And if he wasn't watched Schindler's List yet, he should park his ass in front of a TV and watch it. And on another thought, I wonder what his Zimbabwian girlfriend thought of the whole stunt.
  5. Welcome to the boards. Rex is definitely the expert when it comes to Birmingham, but I'll have a stab at it; Catcher - Chris Stewart 1B - Travis Hinton 2B - Antoin Grey 3B - Josh Fields SS - Pedro Lopez or Andy Gonzalez LF - Casey Rogowski or Scott Bikowski CF - Brian Anderson or another outfielder like Blakley or Spidale RF - Thomas Brice or Ryan Sweeney Starter #1 - Brandon McCarthy Starter #2 - Eduardo Villacis Starter #3 - Jim Bullard Starter #4 - Sean Tracey Starter #5 - Heath Phillips Bullpen Members: Fabio Castro B.J LaMura Josh Fields or Matt Smith Dwayne Pollok Enemencio Pacheco perhaps
  6. Pujols would probably be the guy to go after, I took A-Rod 2nd in a draft last year, and he ended up finishing the 10th best player I think. If it's a pitcher, Schmidt or Santana would be my picks.
  7. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jan 15, 2005 -> 12:02 PM) You may be right qwerty on the numbers. It's hard thing to do in this league, to hit 30 bombs. We'll see. THis might seem contradictory for me to say, but I'd probably hit Rowand 2 if we don't get the Gooch. I don't like hitting him there, but Wllie and Uribe are worse options. We just don't hat a 2-hole hitter. I guess this is better than a month ago when we didn't have that AND a leadoff hitter. Does anyone know enough about AJ's ability to bunt, hit the other way to suggest he could handle that spot? It's not ideal to have a your 2 guy only playh 80& of trhe games, but is he an option? Pierzynski is too slow to be a #2 hitter, and he also GIDP's. He'll be down at #6 or #7 in the lineup most likely.
  8. QUOTE(Mr. Zero @ Jan 15, 2005 -> 08:49 AM) One name. Daisuke Matsuzaka. Not only would his last name look completely badass on a Sox jersey, he would be an absolute stud. My thinking is that having 2 Japanese players to relate to would help him come here unless the Yanks or Mariners or Dodgers are hellbent on signing him. This is the 1 guy I want the Sox to target next off-season if there's a hole in our rotation that needs filling. His numbers in Japan are really quite insane, and a lot of teams will be after him, even though his arm has been used a lot over the last few years.
  9. If A-Row lays off the pitches low and away, he'll be fine. That's the only thing that worries me about him going back to his old form, but I think he's worked hard enough and is good enough to get through this.
  10. There was no George Bush segment tonight as I'm sitting here watching Letterman. How disappointing.
  11. And with the 8th pick of the 2005 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select ....... Matt Leinart! War Room Mock Draft Oh ya they had Edwards going #4 to the Bears, while Mike Williams goes #21 to the Jags. Riggggghhhhhhhhhttttttt.
  12. Maybe a team who misses out on Delgado could be interested in Sweeney, but I'd seriously doubt it. There'd be better targets to go after like Mark Teixeira.
  13. Oh how I wonder how that KC journalist is feeling right about now;
  14. Mine is 175 * 500 and that seems to be a pretty good size. Something around that dimension, 200 * 500, sounds pretty good though.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) The one move the Bulls need to make, is to get a big 2 guard to play defense at the end of games. Gordon/Hinrich/Duhon are all too small. That was Orlando's thinking in trading Mobley for Doug Christie.

    Weird Quirks?

    I'm addicted to Icy - Poles or Popsicles are you would probably call em up there. I have to have 1 a day straight after lunch, even if the weather is freezing.
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Me and DBAH0 will just hang out here then while all you are out having fun. Your place or mine?
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 02:16 PM) Quick.....lets put out the nice silverware and dishes and china and hide the strippers and illicit poker games. I'm looking your way Gage and DBAH0! Hey hey, that was all Jason's idea now.
  19. Borch and Escobar will both probably be with Charlotte, so that leaves 1 outfield spot up for grabs.
  20. Everyone who's going, hope you all have a blast, and it's a memorable experience for you, especially if you get to meet some fellow SoxTalkers.
  21. QUOTE(Loaiza21 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) You don't know how he's going to do in the AL, he won't necessarily do worse. Especially against the AL Central pitching. Gimme Darrell May anyday. As for at bats it was around 400. I think he can still handle the load. Who gives a s*** that he's in his 40's. I just can't go through another season resting my hope on Willie Harris. The guy is a pinch runner. Larkin isn't a good enough fielder to be an everyday player anymore. And he only wants to play everyday, unless he decides to be a backup with the Washington Nats.
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 01:15 AM) Very interesting. What would we be looking at getting from LA? Minor leaguers? I'd assume so. We don't really have many needs left on this ballclub to fill.
  23. If that's the case, the obviously don't think Navarro won't be ready until July. I guess this could mean Jamie Burke could be coming back as well, as it looks like no team has claimed him yet. I don't buy the rumor though, we all know how much KW BD.

    University Question

    Ok I'm just wondering if anyone had information about these 2 universities. I was originally planning to try and study at the University of Mass. Amherst, but unfortnately I couldn't get my subjects matched up. All of my sudden my Uni has allowed a $4000 grant for anyone to study at these 2 Uni's in 2nd semester of this year. Now I don't know if I could get my subjects matched up for these Uni's again, but I was wondering if anyone had any information that I could use, and which would be the better University to study Accounting and Finance at?
