  1. You can thank Roy Williams and the Cowboys for another McNabb Choke - Fest come January!!!
  2. No suprise that teams will be interested in Miller. The guy is usually a horse in the 2nd half of the season, and just comes on stronger, which would be huge for a team like the White Sox. And you know the Sox are interested in him because they almost traded Carlos Lee for him.
  3. I wouldn't mind Tomo Ohka at all, I'm sure Shingo could do a great sales pitch, and it could help our chances of signing Daisuke Matzusuka in the 2005 off-season. With the money you use for Ohka, you'd have some payroll space leftover to sign a catcher like Pierzynski or sign or trade for a middle infielder like Polanco.
  4. So if Juan Uribe doesn't put up Miggy Tejada like numbers at some period of his 3 year deal, he won't have performed adequately then? Let's just have a look at other shortstops from the past season who will have made more than Uribe. Orlando Cabrera ($6,000,000) - .264, 10 HR's, 62 RBI's Jose Valentin ($5,000,000) - .216, 30 HR's, 70 RBI's Alex Gonzalez ($2,800,000) - .232, 23 HR's, 79 RBI's. Cristian Guzman ($3,725,000) - .274, 8 HR's, 46 RBI's. Alex Gonzalez ($5,750,000) - .225, 7 HR's, 27 RBI's. In the final year of his 3 year deal, Omar Vizquel will be 40 years old. In 2 of the last 4 seasons, he has hit .255 or worse. Would you rather have Juan Uribe coming into his prime in the final year of his deal, and possibly putting up Tejada like numbers or Vizquel? I still think Uribe will hit around .280 with at least 20 HR's over the next 3 years.
  5. Nothing like a nice hot Christmas.
  6. There was an article from a Washington paper at least a week ago where Jim Bowden comfirmed he offered Perez 3 years $20 million, but wasn't very confident on signing him.
  7. The Nationals definitely offered Perez 3 years $20 million, not $18 million. The M's are probably offering about $22 million over 3 years, and they'll have the edge over us because Safeco is a pitcher's park. Franklin and Armas could both be interesting to look at though, and Gil Meche is probably available as well.
  8. Found this in Ken Rosenthal's latest piece;
  9. Ok so Kotex Boy has a problem with us not signing Clement and Vizquel. 1 - Who would you rather have over 3 years. Juan Uribe for less $$$, or Omar Vizquel when he hits his 40's and isn't an everyday player. 2 - What happens if Clement's arm goes snap, if he throws one too many hard breaking sliders. Kotex Boy just wants us to splash some cash on anybody, even if he's remotely not good, so he can't use the argument that we don't have ownership shortchanging in a large market, even though there are 2, (count em' Jay) 2 teams.
  10. You used to be neck and neck with me. What happened man? You've changed.
  11. Wow, Valentin got $3.5 million. Sorry I couldn't help but notice that.
  12. Now what would Florida want from us? Jon Garland probably, and a bullpen arm like Cotts or Adkins. Another prospect possibly as well.
  13. That article is registration only.
  14. But long - term it could hurt B-Mac if he's counted on as the 5th starter and killed early. I'd prefer him to earn a spot through AA at least, before he can be counted on, and I've got no doubts he can do that.
  15. If B-Mac pitches well in Birmingham, I see his next move will be up to the Sox and not the Knights. This is because of a number of reasons such as; 1 - The Sox showed they will promote pitchers from AA to the Sox if they produce e.g Arnie Munoz 2 - Charlotte has a hitters park. 3 - Charlotte will most likely have a very full rotation. If B-Mac can keep his HR totals down and the K numbers up, we could see him up by July, although I'd still like to see him have a full year at B-Ham and Charlotte for 2005, and if he produces, he can most likely have a job out of spring training in 2006, like Joe Blanton will for the A's.
  16. With Chad Bradford a possibility to be non - tendered as well, there's another guy the Sox could go after to replace Marte if he was moved, although I don't know if he would come back here. Steve Kline is another option, as he suprisingly didn't sign a deal with the Yankees.
  17. If Davis can rush for over 100 yards, and Andre Johnson gets more than 4 receptions, I think the Texans will pull it off. But the Bears offense could have a field day against the Texans' D and their lack of a pass rush.

    question for you

What about the drunken threads? Surely they have to count for something as well.
  19. Meh what can I say, I consider it to be a worthy investment.
  20. Just think of all the wonderful hot chicks this guy's going to pick up now.
