With the way our offense was last season, I think 4-5 new hitters was definitely needed. Whether they'll prove to be better hitters than the players we had last season remains to be seen.
-
It's the worse since 96 in a game involving the Jazz where the deficit was 36.

RAW tonight basicailly typified how much WWE and Wrestling in general has gone downhill from a decade ago.
-
Happy with my sig bet right now. But one of the Bulls' main problem is their lack of a good 3PT shooter IMO. They only take about 10 3PT shots a game, and they need to raise that, but that'll probably be through a change in offensive system. But the VDN XMAS Firing watch is officially on.

Forget about Holmgren, he's off to Cleveland;

I think the Mets are more likely to bring Delgado back on an incentive laden deal. Was a key part of their resurgance of 2008 when Manuel took over, and if they can sign Bay and get Delgado to rebound, their offense will look a lot better going forward.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 05:38 PM) Why on Earth would New England need Weis? They have no OC since McDaniels left, and bringing in a OC like Weis would allow for Belichick to focus more on the defense which has really slipped over the past couple of seasons. Doubt Belichick would swallow his pride and make the move though.
-
QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 05:32 PM) Weis should be the Bears O-Coordinator. Well I don't think he'd be the most popular choice, and if he'd be the OC anywhere, I'd say it'd be back in New England, as those 2 need each other right now.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 04:52 PM) So I apologize if this has been mentioned in the thread (I am being lazy), but I heard this morning that Shanahan is as good as the Redskins coach already. You guys think this is true? And if so, what the hell do we do now? Probably. I know that Buffalo wanted Shanahan as their new head coach, but he's good freinds with the new GM in Washington Bruce Allen, and Shanahan might be able to make Clinton Portis relevant again with that zone blocking scheme of his, so you can see why they're going after him. If the Bears are going to hire a new coach, they'll probably go with another defensive minded one and hire Jeremy Bates as their new OC I'd say (Bates was the QB coach or OC back when Cutler was in Denver).

And this team keeps on rolling.

Nick Folk will be released on Monday you'd hope. Just a terrible, terrible miss giving the Saints a chance to win. Romo played very well, Austin was good, Roy Williams needs to be better as always. Defensively we played well for the most part. Thought Jenkins had an excellent game, and Ware and Spencer were huge. Still got a chance to finish 11-5 and win the NFC East.
-
Joe Johnson looking pretty good tonight....
-
Got a feeling not getting a TD at the end of the 2nd Q there is going to come back to haunt us. Saints have been unlucky to say the least, we've had the refs on our side so far, and Brees was moving the ball pretty well in that 2nd Q.

One of the weirder injuries in the NBA;

14-3-1 now since Toews has been back in the lineup. Not Niemi's best performance at all, but the Hawks deserved to win, and it's nice to see some offense.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 18, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) I remember that. I was one of the few who agreed with you cause well.... I always hated Kirk Hinrich. I hate Hinrich as much as Zoom, Steve and Slav hate Tyrus. Hinrich was actually a decent player a few seasons ago, when he averaged 16.6PPG and 6ASS's in 06-07. But since then, he's really gone downhill. And he's not good enough of a shooter to be a 6th man. He's basically a glue guy in a starting 5, not a 6th man. The Bulls should have moved him as soon as they drafted Rose.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 18, 2009 -> 03:04 PM) If they had signed Gordon to the deal that he wanted to take last year, and they traded Hinrich(they had 3 chances to do so for expirings since last year), the Bulls would be plenty close. Instead, they need to hope Salmons opts out, still need to trade Hinrich or Deng, and then hope two of Bosh, Wade, Lebron and Joe Johnson want to come. The front office screwed this team. Not Vinny. I basically compared Hinrich to Steve Blake in the off-season when Portland had their cap room, and was shot down by Bulls fans on this thread (or last year's), that I was severly underestimating Hinrich's value, especially on the defensive end. But for that contract, unless he's starting (which he isn't), he's certainly not worth it. Salmons the way he has played so far this season, I think will decide to stick around for another season, and hope to make more money in the 2011 FA class.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 18, 2009 -> 12:55 PM) Because Bosh, Deng, Noah, Rose, and Gordon at SG is probably a legit championship contending lineup. Possibly, but if you had kept Gordon, I don't think you'd have the cap room to sign Bosh to make FA deal. That's unless you could trade Hinrich, but his value would be so low right now (should have traded him to Portland in the off-season). Still think Bosh joins Wade in Miami this off-season FWIW.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) Pierre is going to play left, Rios will remain in center. Oh good, I only read the trade blurb on Yahoo and Rotoworld and they indicated that Pierre would play CF. It'll be interesting to see who has the better numbers next season b/w Podsednik and Pierre also.
-
Well we finally have our leadoff hitter, albeit it is a player in Pierre who does have a lot of downside to his game and that noodle arm of his in CF. To my annoyance, we're now paying Rios $12M a season to play in a corner OF spot when he'll probably put up a .750 OPS. Sure he'll give you great defense there, but that's vastly overpaying, and we're stuck with him for a few seasons at least. If the Sox target a DH, maybe they'll go after someone who mashes lefties, and have Flowers take the vast majority of PA's against RHP's as the DH.

Is it weird that no-one is taking the Cavs as a threat right now, and that Atlanta has probably surpassed them as the #3 team in the big 4 in the East now? Has the acquisition of Shaq actually hurt them as a whole (especially on the defensive end)?
-
On what has been reported so far, I love what Seattle has done in this deal. Adding Figgins and Lee to that team makes them a legiminate threat in the AL West, especially now that Lackey has signed with Boston.

Too bad the Cowboys had to suck for you yesterday. Happy B-Day though!!!!
