I'm very glad I was able to see a game for around $30-$35 last year with the ticket prices going up like crazy now (even if teh Hawks had to lose to Columbus, ugh).

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 10:38 AM) Can someone give me some input on Perry and what makes him so great? I don't know much about the guy. Also, as long as you have speed, you'll fit in with Martz as a WR. Look at guys like Yo Murphy, Az Zahir Hakim, etc for evidence. I think Martz is the perfect fit, especially for Matt Forte as a receiver out of the backfield. No matter what, the Bears need an Oline though. The Bills had the #2 pass defense in the league I think or something similar, and guys like Jairus Byrd at FS really had terrific seasons. Maybe he could actually make something out of Daniel Manning.
-
The only problem I see with a Martz hiring BTW is that you need a very good offensive line to implement his system of minimum protection and 4 WR's running their routes, and right now I don't think the Bears have that type of personnel in their system.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 04:03 PM) Perry Fewell (Buffalo's interim coach who just got canned) would be a good target if the Bears went after a new D-Co. And they should target Jeremy Bates as an O-Co, or at least that's who Jay Cutler wants. Bingo;

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 06:11 PM) A more random one anna torv(Olivia Dunham in Fringe) She's from my home town here in Melbourne (has a pretty good American Accent). Here's another, Snooki from the Jersey Shore.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 5, 2010 -> 03:33 AM) I think the Saints are going to be pretty tough to beat at home as well, and I think it'll be awfully tough for Dallas to go into NO and beat them there again. I like Indy/NO The key would be for us to get as good of a pass rush on Bress as we did back in Wk15. We do that, we've definitely got a shot, and our secondary is probably playing at a top 5 level right now, so we can probably match up with their WR's well enough. My sleeper team right now is the Jets, because they're the best defensive team in the NFL and they can run the football. They remind me of when Pittsburgh won the Superbowl in Roethlisberger's 1st season, but Mark Sanchez needs to step his game up in the playoffs for them to have any shot. I'll say a Colts vs. Cowboys Superbowl.

Also acquiring Butler, would allow you to move Luol Deng plus an expiring contract for T-Mac if the Bulls wanted to go down that route. Butler's pretty much a 3 thru and thru.

Caron Butler has been terrible for Washington this season FWIW. I assume Washington want Hinrich as some possible Arenas insurance?

Hmm;

Best performance of the season argubly today from us, but we've got to do it all again next week against the Eagles. The key to beating them is to not let Jackson beat you down field with big plays and to keep Trent Cole in check as a pass rusher. You do those 2 things, it goes a long way to beating Philly. But we seen to have found a nice balance with Barber and Felix Jones now, Miles Austin is a flat out stud (if the Bears want a WR in the off-season, him or Jackson should be your targets), and the defence looked good once again.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) Bulls haven't yet lost since TT came back. The key move IMO, has actually been moving Hinrich into the starting lineup and getting him going, Salmons looks more at home as a 6th man right now, and giving the Bulls that offense off the bench with TT which they need. VDN's got them playing hard again, and Rose had probably his best game of the season tonight, although Jamer Nelson is definitely not 100% healthy with that knee right now, so Rose should have had a good game which he did. As for the Magic, when Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis combine for only 5-23 and Howard has less than 10 touches (he needs to be shooting around 15 a game which basically hasn't happened this season), we're not going to win most nights.
-
Just a terrible shooting game for the Magic tonight on a back to back. The only player who came to play was Matt Barnes, and we don't have much of an offensive flow right now (currently we're missing Turkoglu's playmaking with the pick and roll quite a bit). Very nice win for the Bulls though.

Nate Robinson played for the first time in a while tonight and dropped 41 points. Me thinks he wanted to prove a point to D'Antoni.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 07:48 PM) The move blocks Fernando Martinez, who has been heralded as one of the better prospects for 3 years now. While his stock has fallen a bit, considering they have refused to trade him in recent years, it seems a bit odd to block him now with a high-priced, terrible defensive LF in a very big Citi Field. It's pretty much a desperation signing by Omar Minaya. He knows that if they have another subpar season, he's a goner. So with all of the problems David Wright had in 2009, Minaya goes and gets him some protection. Jason Bay's a pretty good player and all, but is he worth $16M a season for the next 4-5 years, I doubt it.

There was a good article from THT a few months back similar to this stating how Freddy has basically had to change his makeup with his diminshed stuff and is still getting pretty good results.

Ace I saw you browsing at this thread, so I thought it may be bumpworthy.

QUOTE (T R U @ Dec 30, 2009 -> 08:08 PM) Maryse couldnt be any hotter.. my god I'll see you that and give you this; BTW, TNA's prob gonna release Lacey Von Erich soon and bring back Angelina Love (seems like her visa issues are finally getting sorted).
-
I thought Romo should have gotten in before Eli, as it's argubly been Romo's best season as a pro, and he's a much more consistent QB now who doesn't turn the ball over like he used to.
-
The thing that saved VDN is that none of the players want Bickerstaff to take over, and none of the other assistants would do a better job than what VDN is doing right now. Like it or not, the Bulls are going to have to wait til the off-season to upgrade their coaching position. And they're going to have to make a big splash if they want any chance of attracting a quality FA.
-
Anyone get themselves an aluminum pole this year?
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 11:18 AM) Any smart FA would look at our coaching situation and GarPax's inability to build a contender and stay far, far away. There are too many other options. The 2010 situation is going to be eerily similar to begging FAs (T-Mac, Hill) to sign with us, but then having to throw money at E-Rob. Ugh. E-Rob. Especially when Miami is probably going to be the main competition, and it could be very similar to that FA class where both Hill and T-Mac signed with Orlando, you could have Bosh sign with Miami, just because it's a very attractive franchise with the no state income tax and warm weather, and getting to play alongside Wade.
-
They just didn't get it done on the PP tonight and let in a couple of soft goals. Can't fault the effort tonight though.
-
That may be it for VDN. 10 ASS's and 15 TO's, only getting to the line 12 times and shooting 40% = a mess offensively.
-
So if the Bulls lose to the Knicks tonight, is that going to be the end for VDN?
