  1. Too funny; http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont...?urn=nba,206950
  2. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 11:34 AM) Well Romo came to play...Witten came to play...Hell, EVEN Roy Williams came to play. Nick Folk needs to go, as well as Wade Phillips. What scares me is that the Cowboys were 8-4 at this same point last year. f***. We basically lost that game in the 4 min period at the end of the 2nd Q. Defensively, we just gave up those big plays and it killed us. We've got the Chargers and Saints next, so we could easily be 8-6. Gotta love being a Cowboys fan in December.
  3. Forget Al Harrington, the Bulls should go after Anthony Randolph. If he could get out of Golden State, and Nellie's doghouse, he's a potential all-star. But back to the Bulls, the problems are all on offense, and if you only score 90PPG, you're not going to win many games of basketball.
  4. Would that be the Bulls' worst performance ever under VDN?
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Dec 5, 2009 -> 08:19 AM) Ghana's strength is in their midfield. They lack a dangerous striker. Same can be said of Germany. Don't know much about Australia. So if defense is what Serbia is known for they should be in good shape to advance. Basically under Pim Verbeek we play 4-2-3-1 with a big striker up front, with Kewell, Cahill and Bresciano behind. We've become pretty strong defensively, but have problems scoring at times. Pretty bad draw for us, and we'll have to get results against Ghana and Serbia if we want to move on. Ghana have Michael Essien who's argubly the best defensive midfielder in the world. As for the US, that's pretty much a dream draw, and if you can't advance to the 2nd round, your manager should be sacked.
  6. He won't live up to that contract, but at least it won't be as bad of a decision as the Carlos Silva signing under Bill Bavasi. They'll get draft pick compensation for letting Beltre go also.
  7. Was kind of hoping Australia would face the U.S in the group stages but that won't be happening. Besides South Africa, I'd love to get either England or the Netherlands out of Pool A. England I think are susceptible, especially if they keep going with Emile Heskey next to Rooney, while if Robin Van Persie misses with an ankle injury, the Dutch lose their main strike weapon up front.
  8. Story down here saying that Tiger paid for Uchitel to be flown down to Melbourne when he played in the Aussie Masters 2-3 weeks ago.
  9. This was from the Bleacher Report (hence don't really trust the source, but still);
  10. QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 04:15 PM) This is America. That's not that easy to find, not to mention most of the weekend games are on in the morning. It's not the most convenient set up. Pretty much any British / Irish Pub will have Setanta. I found at least 5-6 in New York / New Jersey, although I'd imagine there's probably not as many in Chicago. You are right about the conveinence though. I have to put up with watching the game at 2AM down here.
  11. Magic move to 15-4 with an easy win over the Knicks at home. Been doing very well without Nelson at the PG spot, and Lewis is getting back into a groove now. Atlanta scored 146 against Toronto tonight, and the Nets are about to lose their 18th in a row.
  12. I wouln't bother with Setenta personally, there's not a whole lot on there unless you're really into EPL. If you need to watch a game on Setanta, just go to a pub or something, because there's more EPL games on FSC than there is Setanta.

    Thornton

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 3, 2009 -> 01:09 AM) Wouldn't this be the ultimate definition of "sell high"? With the sporadic nature of relievers, is a better bet that he comes back in form, or that he has an off year? Usually I'd agree that relievers are so hit and miss from season to season and you can't really trust them But Thornton's basically gotten better each season since he came over from Seattle, and he has that dominant fastball which unless he loses velocity, it's going to remain a major weapon, hence I'd think we'd continue to see very good numbers from him. With Linebrink's inconsistency and Dotel maybe not returning, I don't think we can move Matt ATM.
  14. So Roy Jones Jr. got his clocked cleaned within 2 mins tonight by Australia's Danny Green. Green could fight Bernard "The Excecutioner" Hopkins next. As for Jones, stick a fork in him, he's done. Saw him against Calzaghe at the Garden last year and he's pretty much got nothing left. Been a great fighter, but it's time to move on as De La Hoya did after he got smashed by Manny.

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 06:31 PM) What would the 4th movie be caled? Ludlum only wrote 3 Bourne books, not including the 4th book that Eric Van Lustbader wrote as a posthumous Ludlum book. Hasn't been named yet, seems as if Universal wanted the movie out in 2010 but Greengrass wanted more time and was thinking 2012, hence why he has moved on. Also had 2 screenwriters writing 2 diff. scripts (1 was the guy who wrote Ultinatum who Greengrass preferred), and I don't think Greengrass was a fan of that scenario, so obviously it's going to be a brand new story.

Just announced that Paul Greengrass won't be directing the 4th installment of the Bourne Franchise in 2010. So the film's in limbo right now, as Damon probably won't want to return without a great director and script to go with it. I loved the last 2 movies (Supremacy and Ultinatum) that he directed, so it's disappointing from that POV. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/the_big_pi...greengrass.html
  17. QUOTE (1977 sox fan @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 12:46 PM) thats why there relief pitchers i mean they pitch a inning here and there and get outs and if they pitch in the right situations they do better some get lucky and pitch to bottom oeder guys here and there . And before you know it they have pitched 45innings with a era of 2.09 and people think there great . your right most relief pitchers stink i love all this specialty stuff to 6th inn guy 7th inn guy 8th inn or setup man haha setup ? set up what ? then the closer more fancy titles . and lets not forget the left handed specialist my god today's baseball is getting to the point of not watchable so many pitching changes pitch counts even for relief pitchers ? For me its all bullsh_t were paying 5 6 mil a year to middle relief pitchers to pitch 60 to 70 inns . What happen to this game ? Supply and demand. Having a good bullpen can be the difference b/w a team winning say 85 games to a team winning 90-95 games and making the playoffs. We've seen in the past how a bad bullpen can affect this team, and it's no secret that the year we won the World Series we had a dominant bullpen with Cotts and Pollite. So that's why those quality guys get paid what they get paid. As for the decisions, no surprise really, but I agree with the consensus that it would be nice if the Sox could bring back Dotel on say a 2/7 or 2/8 deal or something like that. Relievers like him that can strike out a lot of hitters don't come around very often, even if he has flaws elsewhere.
  18. Oh and Charissa Thompson is the new Erin Andrews. Versus have a keeper there.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 2, 2009 -> 02:48 PM) God Damn was Huet amazing in that shootout. Too bad it took 11 rounds for a defenseman to end it. Nothing better than seeing Mason lose it afterwards after he kept taunting the Hawks bench when he would make a save. Nice little hissy fit at the end there, and I hope the Hawks and their fans don't forget that when they face him again in the future. Was actually able to watch the game as we get 3 of Versus' games down here on cable TV. Agree with Murcie that the Hawks were probably lucky, but our power play was very good (Hossa looks like he'll really help there), and our PK was solid again especially in that 3rd period. Nice to see Campbell actually throw his weight around a little for once also.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 1, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) Another game where a Ben Gordon is missed. I think this season so far has shown how weak the Bulls bench has become after the loss of Gordon in terms of not having an impact scorer that you need off there. Pargo hasn't come anywhere close to replacing him, while Hinrich just doesn't really fit the mould of a 6th man. Of course they didn't have Kirk or Tyrus tonight and they only lost to a Bucks team that got Bogut back tonight and has been playing well under Skiles (although we'll see if that lasts the season), but the positive for the Bulls is that they're 6-9 and still around 8th spot in the East, teams like Toronto, Washington and Philly have had terrible starts so far.
  21. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Nov 30, 2009 -> 11:14 AM) Vince Young leads a 99 yard drive with no time left on the clock to beat the Cardinals 20-17. He had 387 yards passing. The Titans have one 5 in a row. That team is a playoff smoky for sure right now. My man Kenny Britt out of Rutgers had 7 receptions includin the game winning catch today, and all of a sudden, Young was able to get the ball to his WR's. Not sure if they'll make a wildcard spot, but I don't think any AFC team would look forward to playing them in the playoffs.
  22. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Nov 28, 2009 -> 07:23 AM) WOW, I really hope this would hit Chicago! Only the best for down under.
