QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) Exactly. Paying him to be your franchise savior has "bust" written all over it. Somebody will give him max money. Probably the Knicks, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Bulls made a run at him at all.

Haha WTF?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 28, 2010 -> 09:39 AM) Unless they're out of their minds, they'll do everything they can to try. Yep although the players union will definitely fight that. My money's on Arenas wearing a Magic uniform at the start of next season though, especially considering the state of Jameer Nelson's knee ATM.

I'm actually hearing the chances of Bosh staying in Toronto are better now than what they were before the start of the season. People will be surprised, but Bosh actually likes the city of Toronto. He likes being "the guy" up there. I think if he does leave though, it'll be for Miami not Chicago. If the Bulls are going to land a major FA, my money's on Stoudemire not Bosh. Seems like PHX is going to trade him at the deadline, and the Bulls could probably put together a package around the likes of Thomas and Deng. Another good win for the Bulls tonight BTW.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 12:48 PM) I'm f***ing psyched for Mass Effect 2. Anyone else? Got a 9.6 on IGN yesterday for the XBOX360. I'm more of a PC gamer, but currently my PC isn't good enough to play Mass Effect let alone Mass Effect 2. Gonna upgrade with the new Radeon 5850 on a new PC pretty soon though.

Bit belated, but hope you had a great B-Day Balta!

Hopefully he doesn't go thru a "sophomore slump" this season, because GB has become so important as that table setter being the #2 hitter and all.

50:50 now according to Cowley. Going with a platoon of Thome and Jones at DH makes the most sense. Jones can easily play some OF against RHP's in order to get him more AB's if need be. Thome had an .881 OPS against RHP's last season hitting .262. That's pretty damn good production.

Rose is just abusing Steve Nash so far tonight...
-
Durant's terrible defensively though. He works on that, he'll be mentioned in the same bracket as Kobe and Lebron IMO.
-
TT will probably be with the Knicks, Suns or Grizzlies next season I'd say. Some team that uses an uptempo system at least.

VC said no. VC is also a shadow of his former self.

I'm sorry but there is no way that Andres Nocioni is a better player than Luol Deng, even when you take their contracts into consideration. Nocioni's nothing more than an 8th or 9th man with SAC ATM.

Ellis shot it 39 times as well. As for the Magic, I think Otis Smith is going to do something, because right now I don't know if this team can make it back to the finals, unless they get extremely hot shooting 3PT's in the playoffs. Vince Carter needs to become a 6th man in a Jason Terry role, while I would not be surprised at all if we try to get Arenas if he is let go from Washington.

Blah the Magic suck right now. Offensively they are a just a mess. Probably missing Hedo more than what they thought.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 15, 2010 -> 05:38 AM) Look at how the Giants D finished though. Injuries were definitely a factor but Coughlin is on the hot-seat in New York too. That defense basically quit on Sheridan at the end of the season though. If they can get Tuck and Canty fully healthy, they have a pretty damn good front 4, but they need to get Phillips healthy at the safety spot. I'd say on paper, they have more talent on D than the Bears currently do.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 13, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Does anyone want to explain to me why the Bulls would deal Joakim Noah for Tracy McGrady. What sense is there in that? Bulls are going to get cap relief regardless so why deal someone like Noah. I could see if we are moving a Deng or Hinrich and including Noah as a way to put the Bulls in a position where they can offer two max contracts this off-season, but the rumored trade which would include Noah would not do that. I think Houston have said they won't be dealing T-Mac unless they get a real good young asset in return. I think he ends up in Philly though, with Igoudala going the other way (which has been mooted a little).

Has there been a sports franchise which has gone more downhill over the past 3 seasons than the Detroit Pistons?
-
The roster's not setup for Carroll to have any instant success in Seattle anyways. They're a complete mess on the offensive line, so they need to upgrade there. Looks like they'll be drafting a QB with one of their 2 1st rounders and getting Jeremy Bates to mould him as he did ala Jay Cutler. So they'll probably release Hasselback (he could resurface in Cleveland under Holmgren perhaps). They should use the other pick on an offensive tackle. They also need an upgrade at RB, and probably on the defensive line as well. The former GM spent too much $$$ on WR's (such as Branch and Houshmanzadh) and on LB's.

Been waiting a hell of a long time to see one of those. The pessimist in me said we'd find a way to stuff it up, but we've absolutely owned Philly all throughout the season, and it comes down to shutting down the big plays to DeSean Jackson and stopping Trent Cole as a pass rusher, and once again we did that. Can we beat Minny next week? Right now I'd say it's a 50-50 game. I think we can definitely get a pass rush on Favre with the way Ware and Spencer are playing, but we'll need to be able to run the football, and we should have Barber fresh for next week, although I'd say Felix Jones is gonna get the majority of the carries regardless the way he's playing ATM. Playing in the Dome shouldn't be a hindrance at all.

Yeah a pretty scary situation all round really, Abedayor came out and said he's lucky to be alive. Not what South Africa wants before the World Cup this year either.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 11:58 AM) I think letting a QB handpick his own OC is a recipe for disaster, and seeing how Pete Carroll basically wants Bates gone and also noting USC's fall from offensive grace, I am not enthralled with Bates becoming the OC. Well this is basically Jay Cutler's team now, like it or not. So you want an OC that knows Cutler's strengths and was around him when Cutler had the most success. Was Bates around at USC when Mark Sanchez was there FWIW (I can't remember off the top of my head).

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 06:30 AM) Didnt the Bears just reach out to the OC at USC? Yeah Jeremy Bates from USC, was at Denver when Cutler was there. And that's the guy the Bears should target not Martz IMO. Why, because I believe Cutler's at his best as a QB when he's out of the pocket and on the run, and that's basically what Bates / Denver's offense was in the Shanahan days. And that's where Cutler has had the most success, not as a pocket passer, but as a mobile QB. Maybe he'd introduce the zone blocking scheme that the likes of Houston and I'm sure Washington will use now also.
