  1. The Lakers want Hinrich and are offering the expiring contract of Adam Morrison around. But they also need to trade Sasha Vujacic in a deal, so they're trying to find a 3rd team to do that and give an expiring deal back to the Bulls. Chances of that happening probably aren't very good.
  2. Thomas is a decent backup center as well, even though he's pretty old now. Gives the Bulls some insurance in case they move Miller and TT in that T-Mac deal.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 10:16 AM) Salmons going (as long as the Bulls get an expiring back) would assure the team that they'll have at least enough cap room to offer one max contract. Sounds like the deal might be with Orlando with JJ Reddick and fillers. I know Chicago would love to do that deal because JJ's deal is up at the end of the season (he wants about 4/20 in the off-season also), but I just can't see the Magic doing that deal. They've already got enough 3's in Barnes, Pietrus etc. and they probably need to cut salary if anything, which if they just let Redick go in the off-season they can probably do. And Redick's become a pretty integral part of the Magic's rotation (he plays a lot in the 4th Q), so I don't know if the Magic want to mess with that when they think they can still win the whole thing. Although with the Cavs getting Jamison (who will clog the lane up far less for Lebron than Amare would have), it's going to be very tough to beat them in the East.

So who is the little kid that Flocke was going after? Theories - Younger version of Jacob, Older Aaron, Younger version of Sawyer or Penny and Desmond's kid.
  5. Robothal having some technical issues today I see.

    London/Paris

A lot of my UK Friends on Facebook have been joining Secret London recently, that's got a lot of recommendations if you've got time to check that out. http://www.secret-london.co.uk/Welcome.html
  7. I'd be shocked if the Raptors dealt Bosh over the next few days. That team could be the #4 team in the East with the way the Celtics are sliding come playoff time, and I think Bosh is more likely than not to stay there long-term.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 17, 2010 -> 01:16 AM) Hasn't PHO been paying the luxury tax for like the last 5 years? I don't know if they are paying it this season but they have been for the past few. There were rumors that Sarver wanted Jason Richardson's deal to be included for any deal with Amare also. If I'm PHX, I'd rather Beasley over Gay straight up. At least you have Michael locked up at a good rate for another 2 seasons after this.
  9. Hmmm, I dunno if Memphis would be willing to give up Gay, although it probably seems likely that he'll bolt in the off-season (although they do seem to finally have something building in Memphis). And I don't know if PHX would be willing to do that, considering it's probably doubtful that they'd re-sign Gay (considering Robert Sarver is such a tight-arse).
  10. Just what the sport of Cycling needs right now. They've actually done a much better job of cleaning things up over the past couple of years since this fiasco back in 06.
  11. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 07:25 AM) I disagree. I think Mark is the guy we know what we will get the most. Are you basing this on a few bad starts in half a season? I think Peavy is the biggest wildcard. He gets hurt a lot and as we all know he is making a huge move in parks. Now I think he will be very good but it certainly isnt a known commodity to me. The other two are still too young to say they are more of a sure thing than Mark. I look at Mark's history, and he's basically gone through stretches in a season (some call it a dead arm period because of all of the IP he's thrown over the years) where he's struggled, the back end of 2009 being one of those times (albeit an ERA of 4.06 post ASB is still pretty good). There were just a couple of worrying signs for me with his numbers last season, giving up 5 more HR's in 09 than 08, his K rate decreasing signifcantly (albeit he's not a strikeout pitcher), while his BABIP will a bit lower than what is was over the seasons before, which may me thinks his numbers were a little lucky possibly. Both CHONE and Marcel predict he'll have an ERA just over 4 for 2010 FWIW.
  12. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 02:45 PM) Right now Id say Rose, Deng, and Noah are all better than anyone on that team outside of Lebron. Depth is nice and all but in playoffs you only go 6-7 deep anyways and that starting roster would have no prob getting to playoffs. Well if they get Amare in the next couple of days, that argument is moot. I'd still argue that Cleveland would be a playoff team in the East, even without Lebron (and that's partly because the bottom half of the Eastern Conference sucks).
  13. If it were about championships, he'd probably stay with Cleveland. I'd disagree that the Bulls are way better than Cleveland without Lebron also. Cleveland has more depth, especially in the frontcourt, although obviously Rose is the best player from either squad (cue the Cavs saying Mo Williams is UNDERRATED!!! again). They also have a much better head coach, although I'd be interested to see who the Bulls could get (won't be George Karl unfortunately Jason as he re-signed with the Nuggets for a further season the other day IIRC).
  14. Let them underrate us. It should be what we want coming off what we put up last season. FWIW, the key guy for me for our rotation will be Buehrle. We know that Peavy will probably put up some damn good numbers, and we know pretty much what to expect with Gavin and Danksy, even though they may hit a rough spot every now and again. We need MB to be the pitcher he was before the perfect game last season, and not what he put up afterwards.

  16. Canada finally wins their 1st gold medal on home soil in the mens moguls. We won a silver medal in the event.
  17. Probably Boston or Cleveland if he's moved. Boston being rumored to offer a deal revolving around Allen, but they'd have a serious hole at the 2 guard spot unless Pierce moved over. Cleveland are in on either Jamison, Murphy or Stoudemire. I think they'll probably make a move bf the dead-line and try to get LeBron locked up before the off-season.
  18. Ono vs. the Korean dudes in the 1500 Speed Skating Final should be a great final to watch.
  19. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 06:55 AM) Apparently, three teams have trades in place for Amare Stoudemire. The Bulls are one of them per Ric Bucher. I'm guessing another is Miami. I wonder who would be the third team. Apparently it's Cleveland. Szcerbiak's deal, Big Z and J.J Hickson being rumored. I'd actually be for this as a Magic fan, because I don't think that Amare and Shaq can play well together, as there's a bit of bad blood b/w them from their days in PHX, and I think the Cavs would be worse defensively with Amare. If I'm PHX, I go with the Beasley deal from Miami for sure though.
  20. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 08:18 AM) Go Blues!!! Chelsea's got this, it might be tough with Cole out though. Yuri Zhirkov (the Russian Ronaldinho) is a pretty damn good replacement for Cashley Cole though.
  21. QUOTE (The Critic @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 03:12 AM) GO GUNNERS!!! Thought Arsenal were left for dead a couple weeks ago, but they do have an outside chance. Their schedule seems favorable the rest of the way, so we'll see. I'd still like a more consistent offense from them. Obviously they miss RVP, but if they would have shelled out some money on a big striker like Edin Dzeko or even Carlton Cole (I don't rate Bendtner that highly) in the window, then I think they could win this season. I still think it'll come down to Chelsea and United.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 12:52 AM) You know who actually does a decent job defending Lebron? Tyrus Thomas. I think you should trade for him. We'd love to dump Brandon Bass on you for TT. But I couldn't imagine TT picking up SVG's complicated defensive schemes in 3 months. FWIW, it sounds like TT's either going to end up in Charlotte (why when they already have Gerald Wallace and Boris Diaw) or Denver. I think Denver would be a really good fit for him actually. They run the floor, and he'd make for an excellent backup for Melo.
  23. Anyone else been following the whole John Terry fiasco? Basically he cheated on his wife for the umpteenth time, with a French Lingerie Model who was the ex-wife of his former club-team Wayne Bridge, and they have a 3YO son together. Also for whoever follows the Premier League, looks like we have a 3 team race again with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all in it.
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 12:33 AM) I've read quotes from JR that he won't lose money to win games, but he will bust the budget if said player(s) guarantee a championship. If the White Sox spend money, it means it was available. Signing Damon obviously doesn't guarantee a championship. However with the division likely to be a real close race again, he could possibly make the difference. The Sox weren't just going to splash 4M out on some average relievers, like say an Ed Wade would, it'd have to be an impact guy, and Damon obviously provides that. FWIW, I think the Sox could have been better served by not trading for Pierre, and just signing Damon and using him at LF/DH as a leadoff hitter, Rios at CF, Quentin at RF, and Jones as the 4th OF/DH. They would have had more money available to do that anyways.
