ESPN Magazine Computer Predictions
Carmona is obviously going to be the guy they really need to rebound if they want to have any chance. I'm surprised they have the Tigers so low though. Is losing Granderson and Jackson for Damon and Scherzer really going to cost them that much? Uhhh no.

25 man roster set
You look at Nix's numbers from last season as well, .608 OPS at home (with a .175 AVG) and a .812 OPS in away games. So if you're going to use him, against lefties on the road is going to be the ideal opportunity it seems.

Very cool spot SHIPPS, that whole area is very picturesque. I stayed about 20 streets up from there when I was in Miami last year for the WMC.

Because there's a much greater chance he joins Wade in Miami than coming to Chicago, because he has a superstar to play with. Of course if Miami signs Amare instead, that's all moot. Rose is good, but he's not at that level yet.

I look forward to the bachelor party......... Congrats Jeff!- SOXTALK'S BOLD PREDICTIONS
1 - White Sox finish 2nd in the AL Central to Detroit. They finish above .500 though. 2 - Dan Hudson will be in our rotation before July. 3 - A new lefty DH will be brought in at the deadline to replace Kotsay. 4 - Juan Pierre won't put up an OBP above .330. 5 - Buehrle will have an ERA above 4 for the first time in a few seasons. The Mariners win the AL West and the Angels finally miss the playoffs. Jerry Manuel to be the first manager fired, and he'll go at the same time as Omar Minaya as Jeff Wilpon cleans house. Brandon Webb is dealt before the deadline. Red Sox win the AL East, Yankees the wild-card. Phillies win the NL East. Giants win the NL West, Rockies get the wild-card. Cardinals win the NL Central.- Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
I think Miller's almost a lock to bolt for Houston this off-season to rejoin Rick Adelman as some Yao insurance, but we'll wait and see on that. Alexander's not a NBA caliber player at this point, he'll be lucky to stay on with the Bulls next season. The Bulls hit on Gibson though, and they have him locked up for another 3 years at a good rate right?- Winter/Spring 2009-10 TV thread
24 officially cancelled after this season finishes DAMNIT!!! Can't say I'm surprised at the news. Never could find the writing and direction to follow up to what they produced in Season 1, although I think season 6 was the killer, that was just terrible.- Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
The Nets have won 2 in a row too you know. Tomorrow could be interesting.......- Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
Potential big result for the Bulls, the Raptors lost to Denver at home at the Buzzer by 1 point. Does anybody want that 8th seed in the East?- Official 2010-11 NFL Thread
I wonder what he would have been like if he actually went to a better franchise in the NFL. Guess we'll never know.- Official 2009-2010 NHL Thread
QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 12:34 PM) I really hope not DB. I don't think Crawford is a very good option. Niemi has shown flashes this year but I would prefer someone with little bit more of a track record of success if we have the ability to replace Huet next year. Sometimes you just have give a goalie a look for at least 20-30 games to see how he is going to cope at the NHL level. Look at former Hawk goalie prospects like Craig Anderson and Michael Leighton for instance. Crawford is basically going to give at least what Huet has done this season I would have thought at a far less salary.- Official 2009-2010 NHL Thread
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 11:31 AM) Is it realistic to think the Hawks will put Huet in Rockford next season (assuming no one claims him on waivers, which I am sure no one will) and eat his contract? I think they definitely go for a Niemi / Crawford next season. Certainly would be the cheapest option, when you consider the Hawks' contract situation also.- LOST!!!!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 11:25 AM) Something is the "cork". What that is, who knows. The candidates maybe? Maybe Flocke can't leave, until they're either all dead or all on his side.- Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 01:06 AM) Or Kobe telling them he is leaving for nothing if they don't... I don't think there's any chance at all of Kobe leaving. He's playing with argubly the best team in the NBA, could be about to win back to back championships, and they have the core in Artest, Odom, Bynum and Gasol locked up long - term around him. And it's likely that Phil Jackson is going to stay on for at least another season after this one.- Music Thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 25, 2010 -> 06:17 PM) Some Passion Pit, anyone? Too poppy for my liking. Anyone into the House / Trance scene at all around here? I'm a big fan of Ferry Tayle and Static Blue's work for instance.- Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
Here's a trade scenario I want to bring up. If the Bulls don't get Bosh, Wade, JJ etc. this off-season, would you have interest in trading for Al Jefferson? It's likely that the Wolves see what he's worth on the open market because he's not a good fit in the triangle offense. I'd say the Wolves could have some interest in Deng for instance, as they're not exactly stocked at the 2/3 spots.- Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 20, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) Any of you dudes ever use match.com to pick up the ladies? I actually used E-Harmony for 3 months whilst I was in New York, just to see if anything would come of it. Basically, it didn't. Most of the girls that matched with me that were actually attractive, were based on in New Jersey somewhere (and since I didn't have a car) well it wasn't worth pursuing.- Teahen's struggles...
QUOTE (Ranger @ Mar 21, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) He had 2 awful months, 3 subpar months, and 1 pretty good one. And even if 5 of them were awful, it doesn't necessarily mean anything in terms of what is to come for him. Players will sometimes have anomalous poor seasons. The issue is for Rios was that it's bsaically the 2nd season in a row his OPS has fallen (albeit the 2nd was more dramatic). Can he turn it around? Absolutely, he's hitting in a very good ballpark power wise. I'm one of those who doubt he'll ever reach an OPS above .850 (what he was basically averaging in his prime years in Toronto) again though.- Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
Bulls finally get a win at Philly but Toronto also wins. And the Celtics have won 4 straight, beating Dallas tonight. Hate to say it, but Paul Pierce is starting to get it going and they're looking a little dangerous.- Video Game Catch-All Thread
So I recently downloaded a Sega Genesis Emulator with 800 games all so I could play Road Rash and Skitchin again. Any recommendations on other great Genesis games I should play (as I'm not that familar with it otherwise).- Official 2009-2010 NBA Thread
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) I gotta admit the Bulls have been fighting back in games short-handed. Acie Law looks like a player. Maybe we can resign him to a cheap contract to backup Rose for the next decade.. Eh, most teams in the NBA seem to do that nowadays (come back in the 4th if down by more than 20, see Indiana vs. Cleveland today for instance). With the Raptors beating the Hawks thanks to Bosh's late game heroics, the lead for 8th is now 2.5 games.- Andruw Jones spring training mean anything?
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Mar 18, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) Spring Training is fool's gold, you get your hopes up based on spring performance and you're bound to be disappointed. Especially when you go from the hot Arizona weather to the cold Chicago weather to start the season (and we've seen the effect that's had on Alexei for example). - I am engaged...yes thats right
