QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 07:59 AM) Mo Williams was quite bad last year in the playoffs, was he not? Or he was against Orlando, if I remember. Simple thing with Mo, if you don't hear that stupid Godfather music, he's not that playing that well. But Rafer Alston argubly beat him in our series with the Cavs last season for sure.

And Theo Ratliff for that matter. I'd never rule it out with AI, but he's got a LOT of personal issues he's got to deal with, and they've got some young guards that they want to develop. If anything, they should bring back that Di Leo guy who took pretty much the same roster to the playoffs a season ago, think he's the director of basketball operations or some fancy job title like that now.
-
And Eddie Jordan's been canned by the 76ers. Tom Thibodeau and Larry Brown the early favorites to take over.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 11:44 PM) He probably never should have signed in Orlando. Are you saying that because you're a Bulls fan? Orlando's his home-town, and if it wasn't for Grant Hill's injury, that team could have made it into a finals series possibly. In Chicago, he would have been playing with Curry and Chandler, who have turned out to be massive busts.

QUOTE (Tex @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 12:51 PM) Something that Kalapse said earlier got me to thinking about the negativity. IF, for example, Peavy continues to slide and the worse fears come true, some people will be able to point to April 14 and say they knew way back then. Also, we all we agree at some time angst is warranted. What is the crossover point? That is probably different for every person. Some people panic at the first sign of trouble, others have much more patience. A lot depends on what the team has done in the past. Say this is 2006 or 2007, the vibe's probably a lot more positive around here because of the success they would have had recently. Now, it's not so much. That said, April 15 is definitely way too early to be jumping off the ledge.

Rumors going around that T-Mac is going to retire at the end of the season. Quite sad if it's true for me personally, as he's been my favourite player for the past few years. Don't think there has been a better natural scorer in the NBA since MJ than T-Mac argubly (Kobe and Lebron his main contenders), although I think Durant has taken that crown now. He probably never should have been traded from Orlando, if it wasn't for a hockey executive who became the GM of the Magic for a few months.

If San Jose can't win this series against Colorado, they're argubly the biggest choke artists when it comes to playoffs in the past 10 years or so.

4/15 Gamethread: White Sox (4-5) vs Blue Jays (6-3) 6:07 PM
DBAHO replied to Kyyle23's topic in 2010 Season in Review
Let's keep the momentum going. Freddy was good in his 1st start, be good to see that type of outing again and hopefully we can get him a win this time. -
Ozzie convinced he'd get another job if fired
DBAHO replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Thought he said when he got hired that he didn't want another job in baseball if he got let go from this position. It's almost as if the writing is on the wall if this team doesn't perform this season. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 15, 2010 -> 12:44 PM) Rose >>>>>>>> Mo Williams. Noah/Miller > Shaq/Varejao as you said. Hinrich > West in my opinion at least. I'll take Jamison and LeBron over Taj & Deng, but I think Jamison is slowing down a bit, since his scoring has dropped and his rebounding went down (not a lot). A healthy Bulls can at least make it interesting. Probably because he has gone from a team where he was the #1 option on offense to a team where he's probably the 3rd behind Lebron and Williams. Noah/Miller > Shaq/Varejao isn't a slam dunk either IMO. I hate Varejao because he's so damn annoying on the court when it comes to rebounds / flopping etc. but he can play.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 05:31 PM) Chicago - 40-42 Damn Bobcats...
-
Dang, with the Bulls winning, 1 game off what I predicted their record would be at the start of the season. Do I see em beating the Cavs? No. I'd be suprised if they take a game off them, Lebron will be supremely rested, although it will be interesting to see how they work Shaq back into the mix.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 11:40 PM) If he can add a three pointer, he will be unstoppable. That's something I actually almost wouldn't teach Rose. You don't want him to be a guy that's jacking up 6 to 7 3's a game (like a Gilbert Arenas for example), when he's so damn good at what he does now, driving in and either finishing at the hoop or distributing the basketball. Surround him with some actual shooters, and his value will only get better.

QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 11:28 PM) I directed a patient to go left down the hallway... but dammit they were supposed to go right! I should be fired, I consistently f*** up like this all the time! What happens when you go left instead of going right?
-
Ozzie being Ozzie. Can't say I'm surprised something like this came out, especially with the whole Facebook/Twitter thing that makes Ozzie speak his mind even more now.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 11:17 PM) I think a guy with Shippley as a name should be fired. He does nothing but b**** about the coffee and fill up the garbage cans Sounds about right.
-
Bill Parcells taking on a diva like WR. Never thought I'd see that again after him and TO.
-
I actually wonder if Arizona is after one of our SP's? They were going pretty hard after another 3/4 starter in the rotation even after they acquired Jackson. And they've got Brandon Webb who probably won't stick around after this season I'd guess.
-
Apparently MJ has given Larry Brown permission to seek a job elsewhere, and Brown wants the Philly job IF he gets complete control (GM and coach). This is why I hate Larry Brown. He brings a team back to respectibility, and then bolts for the next rebuilding project.

QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 12:38 PM) Would agree it is early in the season, but he's been doing this for years. He's simply not a good manager... '05 won despite his antics not because of them. Ok then, what did Ozzie do wrong in 2005 FWIW?
-
Safe to say this season has picked up significantly since they've moved on from the Temple.
-
And Boston get the 4th seed, yay. Charlotte may rest Jackson possibly, I think they definitely have the 7th seed locked up.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 08:12 PM) I think we all knew that already, unfortunately.... Oh, and my girl Lacey had the line of the night: After Tara ran in and slapped her around a little, she ran out of the ring and told Velvet and Madison: "She hit my BOOOOOOOOOB!!!!!" ...and then she started to check on it to make sure it was okay, and the camera cut away REAL QUICK. 3:50 to 4:05 on this video;

Of course this is assuming Durant has a good playoff series. Artest could easily shut him down.
-
That's going to be my upset prediction for the playoffs, the Thunder to knock off the Lakers. If Sefolosha can do a decent job on Kobe, I think the Lakers are there for the taking. I know they'll pick it up for the playoffs, but I just don't like the way they've played at all for the past 20 games.
