  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) I wish that Vinny were kept, but he won't and we'll end up with another inexperienced coach who goes through growing pains. If they do that though, won't the Bulls virtually have not much of a chance at getting one of those big FA's. If the Bulls can get an experienced hire, by all means they should. Whether or not they do though is another story.
  2. That could end up being a very good series for the Hawks in the playoffs, they hard to work very hard to get thru, and there's a lot of upside going forward. Should be a great series against Vancouver.
  3. And we're thru to the 2nd round, that was pretty damn easy. Dwight Howard fouled out again in 25 mins though, so there's a lot of upside in terms of he's nowhere near his best right now, but can he get in going in time for Cleveland.
  4. Interesting read from Steve Kyler of Hoopsworld on VDN;
  5. Hate to think where the White Sox would be right now without John Danks. KW's been criticized a lot for some moves that he's made, I think you can argue that selling high on B-Mac and getting back Danks could be his best ever move as a GM.
  6. Fisher always looks terrible against quick PG's though, and that was the matchup that the Thunder were always going to exploit in this series. That said if the Lakers bigs don't get their act together, they're in trouble, big trouble.
  7. Nothing like a bit of excitement over the past couple of days. Great outing from Freddy, bounced back well from Toronto. Props to Paulie and Rios of course. Let's get the sweep tomorrow to keep building some momentum.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 25, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) The Thunder are absolutely destroying the Lakers right now. Looks like we have a series. Yes they are. Already at the line 32 times before the end of the 3rd, and they've made 29 of those. No doubt Phil Jackson will come out and say something to the media about the refs again. Like I said about a week ago, I think the Thunder can win this series. Game 5 is going to be very crucial.
  9. United beat Spurs, so the pressure is on Chelski again tomorrow. Arsenal playing Man Citeh right now. My mob West Ham appear to have saved themselves from relegation after beating Wigan. If we got relegated, we'd be the next Portsmouth and go into administration.
  10. Nothing new there, everyone knows that LeBron is a d**k, but no-one in Cleveland will stand up to him and admit that while he's there. It'd be interesting to see what the media says if he bolted for the Knicks in the off-season though.
  11. Jones should be the full - time DH from here on in. He's one of the only players in the Sox's lineup who's actually hitting well, and giving it some much needed pop. Pretty decent outing from Floyd, deserved better, but it fell apart for him in the 7th. Still a win is a win, and a much needed one at that.
  12. Think you're being a little harsh on Spoelstra there palehosefan. I don't think you can really judge him until next season when they'll probably get either Bosh or Amare, then you need to see some progress in terms of getting up to become close to a 55 win team. As for the Celtics, they just find a way to hang around. I just wouldn't be underestimating em, don't think they'll beat the Cavs FWIW, but I think they'll definitely win a game or 2 to at least make that series a little bit interesting.
  13. That's why I was very happy to avoid the Celtics in the 2nd round. Yes they played like s*** in the 2nd half of the season, but they can still turn it on when it matters. Their 2nd round series with the Cavs should be fun to watch, and hopefully it takes a lot out of which team makes it thru.

    Gage is 27

Bit late to the party but glad you had a good day Jason.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 23, 2010 -> 01:37 PM) Can Williams be released at no cost to Dallas? Don't think so. It's an uncapped year anyway, so it's not like that's going to stop Jerry Jones or anything. I think he'll stick around unless he demands to be let go to be a #1 WR again. And last season showed he clearly isn't that type of player anymore.
  16. Mays can't cover though IIRC, basically those type of safeties (see Roy Williams) really get found out eventually.
  17. Mays can't cover though IIRC, basically those type of safeties (see Roy Williams) really get found out eventually.
  18. The Hawks came out and played exactly the way they needed to play. Hopefully they can take the momentum from this and win the series, but Nashville is a resilient bunch, they certainly won't lay down.
  19. Well I wonder what's going to happen to Roy Williams after this, getting $15M this season to be probably nothing more than a 3rd or 4th WR, ouch. Got mixed feelings on the pick, because the Cowboys went away from the low character guys last season and it brought them success. Bryant's is probably a top 5 guy in this draft on talent though, and him and Miles Austin (not Austin Miles you dumb f*** Steve Young) could make one hell of a 1-2 WR combo going forward. I would have loved Earl Thomas is he slipped because we really need that CF type of FS, but Seattle nabbed him at 14 (and had IMO the best of the draft so far getting him and Okung tremendous value for each pick).
  20. I have a feeeling the Cowboys are going to trade up to about 14 to 17 and try to nab Earl Thomas the FS if he's still on the board. That's unless a guy like Anthony Davis somehow slips to 27.
  21. Yeah I'm actually in agreeance with fathom here. That said, KW has to take some of the blame as well, all of the decision makers should if we continue to struggle. KW could have done better by simply not trading for Pierre, and putting the money that you save from that deal towards signing Damon and keeping Thome on a smallish contract.
  22. QUOTE (WCSox @ Apr 22, 2010 -> 02:22 PM) I would've over-paid for Damon, rather than give up Hudson or Flowers/Danks for Crawford. It's too bad that the Sox don't appear to have an in-house solution to the lead-off spot for the foreseeable future. They'll probably have to over-pay for a veteran, as Kenny did to solve the CF situation last summer. Hindsight's a wonderful thing. The Sox should have held off on trading for Pierre, and put more money towards signing Damon, as there offense would obviously be better with him leading off than Pierre, but what's done is done I guess.
  23. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) Pretty scary how good Okie City could be in the next few years. Just signing someone like Haywood for defense at the center position would make them championship contenders. They also have 3 draft picks in the 21-32 range they could package for a high first round pick. Demarcus Cousins or Cole Aldrich would be very good fits. Yep a top defensive C is pretty much all they need to go to the next level. Maybe they'll try to develop Mullins into that type of player though possibly. Collison's a damn good defensive PF as it is, but he needs help on that regard. As for their draft picks, they should definitely try to trade up, as they're already pretty deep as it is.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 21, 2010 -> 06:08 AM) Normally I'd agree, as I've been an NBA 2k backer for like 4 years now. The game took a step backward this year, and I think Live is actually more fun. Ah ok. I haven't actually played 2K10 yet, still playing 2K9 (and I'm strictly a PC gamer). I'd say 2K10 has the better graphics and presentation but Live probably has the better gameplay possibly.
