If Atlanta keeps Joe Johnson, they're better. Ha, probably the funniest thing I've read on a msg board in quite a while. Oh wait no, that was Delonte West sleeping with Lebron's mom.
-
Wow that's pretty f***ed up if true. I think either way with what happens with Lebron, Delonte just gave the Cavs permission to void his contract from next season.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 15, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) From a business perspective, not locking yourself in with a long term deal right now is insane, because of the high probability of a lockout and the high probability that the Owners will break the players, again. It's fairly likely that player's contracts and players share of the pie will decrease significantly next year after a lockout. Lebron would be a fool to play for a 1 year deal. No I was talkin bout Shaq settlin for a 1 year deal to stay in Cleveland if Lebron re-signed there. No way is Lebron going to only sign for 1 year obviously.
-
I thought he was still pretty decent in this series, but for him to play for another season, it's got to be the right situation for him (to win a championship). If Lebron stats in Cleveland, I could see him staying there for 1 more season. Dallas would be a possible option also, especially with Dampier's non - guaranteed deal.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2010 -> 11:29 PM) Then you should have set your goal with him on winning a championship, not on doing things to make him happy. Well they wanted to keep him for the rest of his career by making him happy I guess, and they probably would have thought this time last time last season after sweeping Atlanta and I can't remember who else, that the strategy was working perfectly. Watching him over the last few games compared to what he did against us last season, there's no way Lebron was either 100% healthy or giving 100 % effort. I think it's probably the latter.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2010 -> 10:54 PM) He's going to lose his job because he, along with everyone else in Cleveland, have coddled James too much. Probably because the franchise has been walking on egg-shells ever since Lebron came in. You find any little way to piss him off (by pushing him too much) and he can just move on when his contract was up (which he'll probably do now anyways).

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 14, 2010 -> 09:46 PM) If you wer LeBron, would you rather play with Bosh or Rose? I think its a fair question that could be tough to answer. Noah may be the key. His improvement may help the Bulls in ways never even imagined. I do know this, if LeBron was cloned and played for both the Cavs and Bulls this year, the Cavs would have been knocked out in the first round, and I don't think Boston would have had much of a chance either. If the Bulls get LeBron, I think they dominate the East for at least 5 seasons. Some teams like Orlando will be great, but not great enough. Rose, and I say that because he's younger than Bosh, and Lebron needs to play with a PG who can create his own shot to take pressure off him (which is why Danny Ferry brought in Mo Williams a few seasons ago). I still think even if the Bulls get Lebron that the Magic will be very competitive against them. SVG would probably out-coach a guy like Calipari easily, and they've got the inside - outside game that when it is working (like it is now) is just very hard to stop defensively. A lot depends also if they decide to maybe trade in VC's ending deal for an upgrade at the SG spot also possibly at the trade deadline next season.

I mean from the Bulls standpoint, to me it all depends on whether they could pull a sign and trade to get a 2nd star like Bosh to come in with Lebron. Because the Knicks can do that, and to me, that's gotta be their whole selling point to Lebron, pick which star you want to come and play alongside you. That and Lebron and D'Antoni have a got a pretty good relationship (although D'Antoni's stock is probably at an all time low now especially considering what Alvin Gentry has done in Phoenix). But if neither team can sign a 2nd max player, I think at least the Bulls have the advantage over the Knicks definitely when it comes to talent on the roster. Cleveland pretty much put everything towards winning a championship this season but going after veteran players they thought could put them over the top. Now it's backfired in a huge way.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 14, 2010 -> 03:10 PM) So it's really true? There's got to be more to it. I remember hearing this back in February but I refused to believe it was that simple. If so, Lebron is an idiot if he resigns. Cleveland basically went for Jamison over Amare because they thought that Jamison would be a much better matchup at the 4 spot against Rashard Lewis when they would meet in the conference finals. The problem was, they never made it there, and KG took advantage of Jamison's lousy defense. Now Cleveland's stuck with his contract for another 2 seasons.
-
Well Mike Brown will get canned in the next couple of days no doubt. He'll definitely get another job quickly though. 22TO's tonight for the Cavs, there's just no way you can win a game of basketball with that number. It's funny because Cleveland made these 2 big moves to bring in Shaq and Antawn Jamison to help match themselves up better against Orlando in the playoffs, and they didn't even get to play them in the end. Jamison was beyond awful tonight, Kevin Garnett took advantage of his porous defense all series long. As for the Celtics vs Magic, should be a good series to watch. They match up well with us, mainly because Perkins can actually defend Howard 1 on 1 in the post. Rondo vs. Nelson should be great to watch because they are argubly both playing the best basketball they've ever played right now. The key will be if Lewis can do a decent enough job defending KG (so we may see Howard and Gortat on the floor at the same time quite a bit). If he can, I think we'll win in 5 or 6.

If you're making a trilogy of films, the 2nd film is pretty much the hardest because you're setting up plot points for the 3rd film, and it's just never going to live up to expectations of the 1st film. That said, if you look at a history of film trilogy's, there have been some pretty damn good 2nd films over the years.

Needs more Heidi Montag. Kelly Brook's moving down here to Melbourne, which is pretty cool. I always liked Navi Rawat back when she was on the OC. Christina Aguilera 18? WTF has she done lately... Same for Miss Bynes. Chelsea Handler and Ke$ha. Rightio.

Iron Man 2 certainly wasn't as good as the 1st movie, but T2RotF was argubly the worst film (or pretty close to) of 2009 IMO.

I reckon if Adu ended up at a team like Barcelona, which is probably the best team in the world but actually develop their young players and play a real great passing style of game, Adu could be a star right now. He probably made the wrong move going to Benfica but hindsight is a wonderful thing. He's still got a long time to make it.

Reading thru a lot of pieces about Lebron right now, a lot of people are comparing him to Tracy McGrady in terms of mental toughness. That when the going gets tough, he capitulates. Doesn't have the focus or intensity to make it out of the post season. A lot of people are saying that James Anderson is exactly who the Bulls should target at 17 in the draft also. Would be a good fit at the 2 guard spot for them going forward.

Nothing in the city centre really so I wouldn't recommend that. Best bet is to stay at the different beaches for a couple of days each. I stayed at Santa Monica last year for a few days and thoroughly enjoyed that. If you're in LA though, make sure you rent a car. I didn't because I was being a cheap bum trying to save $$$, but the public transport system isn't very good to say the least.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) The most important thing I took from the flashbacks is that Kate was a lot hotter and less muscular when the show started. I only saw the end of the episode and I saw Kate and went "damn that's the best I've seen her look for a while" and now reading the recaps, it's an old scene from season 1. Dang.

The issue I would have with hiring Collins is that he's been out of the game for so long from a coaching perspective, is he going to be able to handle the ego's on an NBA team, especially if say Lebron came on board. That and the Bulls aren't considering him because JR would never want to fire him because of the friendship he has with him.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ May 13, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) Do you think an addition of Wade or Bosh makes the Bulls instant contenders as well? Yeah I think so, but I think Lebron obviously makes them a better team than those 2. Wade obviously needs the ball a lot to score, so it'd be interesting to see how he and Rose would play together. Bosh is obviously a good fit because the Bulls need a 4 or a 2. But he's not a low post guy, and defense isn't his strength, but luckily Noah is basically the perfect type of center for him to play next to I guess. Right now as it stands, I think Wade stays in Miami, Bosh goes to Miami to join him or to Chicago, Amare stays in Phoenix after what they've done in the post-season, if Bosh goes to Chicago, Joe Johnson goes to Miami or New York, Rudy Gay gets a max offer from the Clippers and joins them (because they desperately need a 3), Allen stays with Boston for 1 more season, and Lebron goes to New York or Chicago if they get knocked out by the Celtics, or he stays in Cleveland if they make it thru (assuming if the Magic knock them out that the Cavs fire Brown and bring in Calipari to replace him).

QUOTE (zenryan @ May 13, 2010 -> 06:16 AM) Terry is cleared of any injury and will play in South Africa. He'll get his eventually though. Yeah I jumped the gun a bit then when I initially found out about it. Too bad really.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 13, 2010 -> 02:55 AM) A lot of familiar names missed out on their national team cuts. Along with Benzema, Patrick Vieira was left home, Ronaldinho, Adriano and Alexandre Pato from Brazil, Del Piero/Totti/Toni from Italy, Hargreaves and Scholes (although I heard he declined) from England, Zanetti from Argentina, van Nistelrooy from Netherlands... And is Spector even going to start? Obviously you have Bocanegra and Onyewu, but Cherondulo and Bornstein have a shot as well as Jay DeMerit after his performance at Confederations Cup Spector started at RB for the US in the Confederations Tournament when they made the final against Spain IIRC. I'd assume he'll get first crack at that job again.

As a Magic fan, obviously if the Bulls get Lebron they become an instant contender. If he goes to New York or the Clippers, it helps us naturally. I can't say though that after what happened with Lebron's lack of class after we knocked them out that a part of me is glad that this is happening to him. Karma is a wonderful thing.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 13, 2010 -> 01:26 PM) What is the Magic situation going into next year? DBAH0? I read somewhere they could have money to work with. Imagine a lineup of Howard, Nelson, Lewis, Carter and someone else not named Matt Barnes. Redick and Barnes are both FA's after this season. I'd say it's likely 1 of those 2 will leave. If Redick gets a MLE offer (which the Bulls could still do after signing Bosh and Lebron for example if they did a sign and trade including Deng) I'd doubt we'd match. Barnes I'd like to re-sign because he brings a lot of toughness to our team. Something around what Brandon Bass got 4/16 should work for both sides. We'll try to move Gortat in the off-season, but his value has regressed, but hopefully some team will bite. Carter's contract expires at the end of next season, so that could be a very handy trade chip. Otherwise it's business as per usual.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ May 13, 2010 -> 11:25 AM) Does anyone posting in this thread not want LeBron on the Bulls? The guy is a showboating egomaniac. I would rather give it a shot with Bosh or Wade as they aren't so f***ing obnoxious. I wouldn't miss the inevitable, unending comparisons of Jordan-James either. Yes. There's even rumors linking Calipari to Cleveland to replace Brown as a way of convincing Lebron to stay on with the Cavs after this season. Never thought I'd see Bulls fans rootin for Rajon Rondo also.
