QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 05:08 PM) In their last 7 games, the Bulls have allowed point totals of 110, 111, 100, 116, 105, 122, 132. That's beyond pathetic. I'm kinda hoping we don't make the playoffs. I'd rather have a 5% shot at landing John Wall than getting smoked in 4 games (5 tops) by the Cavs or Magic. Funny thing is early on in the season, the Bulls were actually a pretty decent defensive team, but they just couldn't score much on offense. Now it's completely turned around, and hence why the Bulls find themselves in this little mini losing streak.

Bulls drop out of the top 8 in the East after they lost to Utah and Charlotte won.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 05:27 PM) I was actually thinking of starting one. There's been a bit of a void since soxcast shut down that not even Oral Sox can fill. THat being said i have no idea how to start or run a podcast so i'm glad to see someone stepping in for that. It's something that I think we could possibly get going on here again (we had one with Mario and Jason a couple of years back).

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 06:28 PM) Beat me to the punch, great post. His upside is much higher than Reeds was (and this pains me to say, since I was Reeds biggest fan.. ) I would also say that Reed wasn't a first round talent/pick either (though at times.. that doesn't matter when you find sleepers). I'm glad your thinking about some Jeremy Reed sexiness though Andy. I also find it funny the guy Reed was compared to, is who I'm now cheering for on the sox, though he's old(er) and might be a part time DH on a questionable offense. Ha, no not really. I just don't want people around here to put too much pressure on Mitchell on the back of a hot ST etc. There just aren't that many players like Gordon Beckham that can come up and have an impact straight away at the major league level, although I will say you are seeing more 1st round picks doing that nowadays. But it's good nonetheless that we have a prospect with some actual quality tools instead of 1st rounders like Lance Broadway and Kyle McCullough. Shows that the Sox's draft and scouting process has come quite a way over the past 5 years.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) I dont know how this is possible. It wasnt anything but recycled WCW storylines, you said it yourself. At least WWE had something a little different moving with Orton, I liked R-Truth and Morrison popping off against ShowMiz. There really wasnt anything I liked about TNA last night, I couldnt watch it for more than a few minutes. Bubba holding Hogan back was so ridiculous I started laughing The Beautiful People winning some gold. Desmond Wolf is my new favourite wrestler also. I hope they don't ruin what they built up with him from the program with "Kurt Mangled", although it looks like he could become part of some 4 Horseman Faction with Styles, Flair and Sting possibly.

Charley Rosen had this to say on Rose FWIW;

He's still quite raw for a prospect though. Even if he does tear up AA, you can't take things for granted with prospects like him. Jeremy Reed for instance was a guy who tore up AA and did well in AAA, but failed to take the next step. Still, there are some promising signs nonetheless.

QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) Even though it was a one time minor infraction against the team´s wotk ethic, you gotta hustle for that kind of money. If this kid is a bust this year then there will be serious calls to cut him. And signing Boras after only one year if true is a terrible move on his part because he has proved nothing yet. I don't think there's much chance of that happening even if he does have a bad season for B-Ham or Charlotte. As it's been said, the Sox control his rights, so I can't see why they'd just release him. Would be bad management on their part.

Gilles is a pretty weak OG. The Eagles signed Stacey Andrews last off-season to be either a swing T or OG, can't remember for sure, but I think Gilles has been abused a few times by Jay Ratliff whenever we have played Philly. Don't know much about Sims though.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Mar 6, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) Yeah, the bolded part is why the Bears have been failing, not because of what they do in FA. I just brought up Jones because everybody knows he has a s***-ton of cash, not necessarily that he spends it. At the end of the day everybody has the same salary cap (in the past I mean, not in the uncapped year coming obviously) Well that means it's a talent evaluation and development issue, which means that's an issue with the coaching staff and the GM. You don't want the Bears to turn into the Redskins every off-season obviously.

Hmmm looks like the Bucks maybe getting the Bulls pick then if things keep going the way they have been recently. Nice little move there by John Hammond (who IIRC is the Bucks GM).

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Mar 7, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) Griping about Rose's rebounding is like complaining that The Big Hurt couldn't play shortstop. You pay your PG to drive, handle the ball and run the offense, not crash the boards. He's averaging a whopping 1.7 fewer boards than Jason Kidd (who leads all PG's) entering tonight. Even if you go by rebounds/48, he's only 2.3 behind Kidd. In other words, who gives a flying f***? Yep pretty much. You could make an argument that Rose is the best PG in the Eastern Conference right now. Criticising him for his lack of rebounding, is like saying Dwight Howard should be shooting more 3PT's. But the Bulls are in a little bit of bother right now. Looks like they could slip to 9th before they get Noah back. The Bucks are the 2nd hottest team in the NBA post ASB, while the Heat finally have Wade healthy.

The best way to get success in the NFL though is to build through the draft and not overspend in FA. This off-season the Bears can afford to do that because it's an uncapped year, so they can give out contracts with so much up front money and guarantees etc., but if you look at the successful teams over the past 10 years etc. the majority of their talent has come through the draft. Obviously you brought up Dan Snyder Lostfan, and the Redskins are a perfect example of why you shouldn't overspend in FA. Jerry Jones used to be like that also, but he finally figured out that developing your own talent to fit your systems is the best way to go about it.

Looks like Rodney Stuckey had a seizure and was taken away on a stretcher. Pretty scary stuff.

Who's slated to be the Bears RT ATM (I assume Williams is moving to LT after the release of Pace). IMO, the Bears need to bring in at least 2 new O-Lineman in order for Martz's system to have any chance at being successful. Doubt you'll get a starting RT in the 3rd round of the draft, but getting a C or G there is certainly possible.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 06:16 PM) Skip please. I'd rather give that money to Vincent Jackson. 1st and 3rd tender wasn't he?
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 5, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) His best days are behind him...ick. ^. But he's still a pretty damn good pass rusher, although I'm surprised he wants to play in a 4-3 system again. But the Bears have to overpay for FA's obviously because they don't have any early picks. I think the Bears would be targeting some offensive lineman, but there just aren't that many good ones in FA this off-season also.

So much for Dogen and Lennon eh.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 08:37 AM) I'd say that makes you wrong on the Thunder. Well I said they'd be a lot better this season and fight for a playoff spot. Most experts were predicting they'd only win about 30 games this season.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 3, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) No, just say, "Dudes, get the f*** out of here for a while." Any decent roommate can do that for you. ETA: $100 between 5 guys at a strip club. Wow, some girl is going to be totally happy she didn't skip a shift and miss these high rollers. Hell I got kicked out of my own bed by my room-mate in NY at 4 in the morning because he brought a girl home and wanted to "boink" her, as we used to say. But $20 for a guy at a strip club should at least get you a lap dance.

QUOTE (The Beast @ Mar 2, 2010 -> 03:19 PM) I live in a house with 5 other guys, so the kitchen is available and I have cooked Italian food before. I just know that they are always around so it wouldn't be the most romantic of sorts while the rest of those dudes parade around the house. Though we do have a basement...unfortunately it is unfinished. After reading Lewis Black's book tonight, I might as well try writing something important. Too bad I don't give a rats ass about literature or I may have been a good English major. I note your sarcasm and raise you a quarter. Give them $100 to send them to a strip club or something for the night.

Right now I hope the top 4 seedings in the East stay where they are. Would much rather face Atlanta instead of Boston in the 2nd round. And that's only because we matchup a lot better with Atlanta, even though I think Boston are a good candidate to be knocked out of the 1st round of the playoffs.
-
40-42 for the Bulls I predicted, which is still possible if Rose's knee injury he suffered tonight is serious. At least I was right on the Thunder, although I said they'd win 35 games, and they've already won 35 games.

QUOTE (juddling @ Feb 27, 2010 -> 07:51 AM) Best nightclub dress code policy ever Seeing that subject line reminded me of this video I saw a few years back; I wonder if any bars or nightclubs would have the balls to actually enforce that in Miami for the next season.
