Pitching Projected Roster
If we miss out on on Benitez and Percival, another guy we could possibly look at is Dustin Hermanson. He went 17 for 20 in save oppurtunities and I think he had a really good September ERA wise when he was in the closer role. The Indians already have interest in him. Just a guy to look out for.

Pats taking it on the chin early
With the performance of Brees today, I think the Chargers may be regretting taking Rivers, period.

A Closer/ Set up man via trade
I thought he had a poor record against the Yankees as well, but I could be wrong, again I'm going off the top of my head. It's interesting though, Looper went to New York from Florida and had a good year, Benitez did the opposite and had a really good year as well. Relivers can be that unpredictable.

I guess the thing is with Benitez with his career with the Mets, is that he blew a lot of saves, especially in key situations. In his 1st season with the Mets, he blew 6, saved 22, and had an ERA of 1.85. He's also pitched in his career majorly in pitchers' parks, so there's no doubt his ERA will rise if he leaves Florida, no matter where he goes.

You can just tell he'll go Hawkins like if they do that. New York shipped him out because he couldn't handle the pressure. Take 2.

Vizquel to Sox-2 years, 8 mil?
Pretty sure there was an article in the Southtown a month or 2 ago saying when A-Row hit in the #6 or #7 hole, we had at least a 60% winning rate.

How about the guy who hit Pedro with a ball today? He seems to have a pretty good arm.

A Closer/ Set up man via trade
TB was the only team willing to take a chance on Baez last off-season, and it paid off for them. They'd want young starting pitching in return for him no doubt. Personally I don't think they'll trade him though, and we should look at Benitez or Percival instead if there's still enough money to sign either one of them (if we don't end up signing a starting pitcher). People say Percival is losing his fastball and is too old but he had a 1.69 ERA after the All Star Break I believe. $4 mill over 2 years wouldn't be that bad of an investment.

GoodBye Eddie Robinson....
Poor Eddie. He was an idol for all those lazy bums out there, living the dream.

Detroit Tigers Farm System
Thry have some great position player prospects but not many top notch pitching prospects. They added a lot more pitchers from this year's draft though.

Vizquel at $4 mil > Valentin $5 mil.

Terry Francona
I put out this question though. If we hired Francona instead of Ozzie, would we have tried to trade for Curt Schilling?

- Clement?
At least if you sign a guy like Clement, and it doesn't break the bank, we do have some possible replacements in Grilli and Diaz, but we shouldn't depend on them at all to be our 5th starter. Let's not put all of our eggs into one basket. - Terry Francona
