My ideal rotation for next season. Buerhle Garcia Odalis Perez Contreras Garland Diaz or Grilli as the long man / 6th starter
-
Back to back homers in the 1st, a Tiggy scores on a wild pitch. We still saw the best and worst of Contreras tonight.
-
Another 2 hits for Ross in the #5 spot tonight, looking more at home in the starting lineup every game.
-
What are his home and away splits FWIW Cheat, home run wise?
-
Jones will be traded, to make room for the resigning of Santana and Radke. They want to get Jason Kubel in the lineup as well.
-
Now with Konerko making $8.5 million next season, if Delgado does sign for $7 million a season, which would be pretty crazy in my mind, it would probably be harder to deal Paulie money wise, but with one less free agent first baseman on the market, some team like Seattle could get desperate and try to make a deal for him. FWIW, Ricciardi has said the report is false though.
-
Deuce McAllister and Charles Rogers going down injured has killed me early. Peerless Price hardly gets any catches either. My drafting of Thomas Jones in the 2nd round was a STEAL though.
-
Do you want this team to become the second coming of the Chicago Blackhawks though. I certainly don't. Chicago is a great sporting city, and it would be a shame to see the White Sox not being able to compete in the playoffs consistently.
-
If we moved to the AL East, I guarantee you our chances at making the playoffs every year would plummet. The AL Central is the BEST chance for this team to make the playoffs out of ANY division.
-
Benitez's numbers last season compared to this season. Also his numbers would inflate SIGNIFICANTLY from pitchin at the Cell compared to Pro Player. 2003 - 2.96 ERA, 21 SV, 8 BLSV, 75 K's, 41 BB's. 2004 - 1.22 ERA, 44 SV, 4 BLSV, 61 K's, 20 BB's.

If someone does copy the player profiles, make sure you just copy the Sox players and NOT the whole article as well. There's a chat at 2PM eastern as well, let's get some White Sox related questions on there.

This would be the ideal version of selling out to many Sox fans I feel, a chance JR probably can't take in my mind. He's hated enough by us fans already as it is.
-
All in all, the negatives far outweigh the positives of moving divisions in my mind. Sox fans have shown they will come out to the Cell and support a winner, when the team is playing well. We have the best chance of doing that in the AL Central. Even if we moved divisions and bumped up our payroll to about $80 to $85 million, which is probably what Baltimore will end up spending in the next few years, it's going to be incredibly hard to make the playoffs against the Yankees and Red Sox. We have some great rivals in our division already in the Twinkies and the Tribe.

This is what I can find on Williams so far. I'll post more if I can find more info; From July 22, 2004.
-
Best case scenario trade - wise is we try to ship him off to a team like the Giants if they don't sign Maggs, or an AL team like the Blue Jays which could use him as a DH.
-
You're only basing that because I'm from down under.
-
Looks like the Sox are trying to make sure Carl comes back in condition;
-
If Cotts is worth 10c....... I'm not even going to finish that question.
-
Happy B-Day!!!
-
Now this wouldn't be the infamous Otis at it again would it? :rolly
-
Jon Garland and Joe Crede traded in a package deal for a veteran starter, and they put up great numbers for the next few years.
-
I saw this little piece last night. Benitez still worries me though, everyone knows what he was like last season with the Mets and Mariners, I'm not convinced under Coop, he could have the same type of success as he has enjoyed this year. I still think Pavano will stay with the Marlins or go to the Yankees.
-
Buffalo's pick is looking like a top 5 pick for next season. We should be able to draft an impact DT, DE or CB. I think we'e almost set offensively, although another good young receiver would be nice, when Glenn and Me-Shawn retire.
-
Yeah I heard Madden go on about that, but I didn't actually see it because ESPN is blacked out for me, yet I can still hear it, hmmm weird. Wasn't the best night for Terence Newman I'd say.
