He's arbitration elgible. The A's hav until Dec. 20 to negotiate a deal with him. That scared a lot of teams off and his poor numbers this year. Expos had to move a contract so they could sign Jurassic Carl.

Here's what John Sickels thought of him, Chicago White Sox: Jason Grilli, RHP, from the Marlins: A one-time top prospect until his career was derailed by injuries. Originally drafted by the Giants in the first round in 1997 out of Seton Hall, he was traded to Florida in '99 for Livan Hernandez. Grilli, 27, posted a 3.38 ERA in 12 starts for Triple-A Albuquerque this year, though with a poor 38/30 K/BB in 67 innings. He once drew comparisons to Matt Morris but hasn't been able to stay healthy long enough to develop his command. Grilli could be an intriguing reclamation project.
  9. Well at least WE know what to do this offseason, hopefully KW will as well. He ain't gonna get a betta deal than this for a long time.
  10. We'll miss ya Carl. Actually the deal can be for 3 years as well. The Expos pursued him heavily because his former hitting coach with the Mets and Astros is now the hitting coach of the Expos. From ESPN, Everett's complex contract will pay him either $3 million for one year, $7.5 million for two seasons or $12 million for three years. He receives a $3 million salary in 2004 and a $4 million player option for 2005. If he exercises it, Montreal would get a $5 million team option for 2006 with a $500,000 buyout.
  11. Game on, BE GOOD was beatin me all of last week until the final day so I got lucky.
  12. Suprised da Cavs gave up Mihm, but yeah I think Cavs win on this 1 as well. I think Miles will be dealt soon as well.
  13. They're not very original in soccer are they.
  14. At least most of da pitchers on that list hav made it in the big leagues though. Hamilton really killed TB though.
  15. I wonder who he was calling. A - Anquan Boldin "No rookie is goin to take my Pro Bowl spot!" B - Jim Fassel "I heard the Arizona job is lookin good buddy!" C - His Momma "Momma I'm on National TV!" D - Michael Vick "How do you like this celebration, or do you still think my one in Atlanta shootin my teammates was betta?" And at least Jessie Palmer found it funny!
  16. Well at least he ain't GM and coach like his brother Daryl.
  17. But that was 10 years ago. There are so many more scouts, and technology available to make a betta read on players and their potential to make it in the big leagues. And they also know how to manage players betta in the lower levels which helps them make the transition to the big leagues. Only teams that hav high budgets can invest in free agency, small budget teams hav to put all their eggs in their farm club pretty much.
  18. U r neva gonna catch my lead in the trivia Yahtzee.
  19. The most painful story I heard was about 5 yeasr ago when I was on the bus to school and on the radio the newsreader said a man had died afta his dick had been sucked off by a vacuum cleaner. Every1 just cringed afta they heard that.
  20. Yeah I always thought there was an o in there sumwhere.
  21. Play the kids, fire Sutter, hire Yawney, get the no. 1 pick, trade DUI Zhamnov. These should be the goals of this franchise for the rest of the season.
  22. Can't wait to see who the nominees are. Should be a blast.
  23. In an LA Times article, it also says that KW wants Mota as a centerpiece of a package that must include a starter and 2 top prospects.
  24. Well here's my take on the deal. KW wantin Gonzalez or Sanders to replace Maggs shows that Jeremy Reed IS NOT goin to play with the White Sox in 2004. Give him a full year at Triple AAA like Bobby Crosby did this year, and plug him in to the lineup in 2005. If KW gets offered Mota, Odalis Perez and two of the top prospects just for Maggs, HE HAS to take this deal. For a guy who is most likely to walk at the end of 2004 to Free Agency to get 4 excellent players for him is an oppurtunity KW just can't pass up. I think he'll ask for one of Miller or Jackson, most likely Miller, and prob James Loney. The deal could be made much more interestin if we can throw in Jose or Paulie into the deal as well. This would allow us to go afta another startin pitcher and imagine a rotation of Buerhle, Loaiza, Perez, (Maddux, Ponson, Hernandez or Garcia) and Jon Garland. I think we should only add 1 more reliever instead of gettin 2 and miss out on a startin pitcher. The Dodgers and Mariners are rumored to be close on a deal, but I don't think it'll be for Freddy Garcia but mayb Randy Winn which could hurt our chances of tradin Maggs. If Shawn Green still wants to move to 1st though, they need another outfielder. Ozzie's talkin bout the trade bein Maggs for Mota, Jackson and Perez, and if that is indeed what the Dodgers are offerin, they should take it. However, if they can throw in Konerko or Valentin and get another of their stud prospects, they should try to do this as well.
