  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 22, 2016 -> 08:40 PM) Your positivity is not welcome in winner threads. Sox fans have forgotten how to win. Imagine if this were a Blackhawks thread in the NHL thread. The optimism after one of those wins was enormous for a team with major issues.
  2. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ May 22, 2016 -> 09:42 PM) Cub fans from the the South side lack brain cells so it is hard to imagine that they employ much logic when they decide to attend a Sox game and wear their ridiculous looking Cub attire. Some of the brightest people I know are Cubs fans. They're the Blackhawks fans of baseball. They show up to the wrong games in the wrong apparel. Albeit, Cubs fans are generally more intelligent than Blackhawks fans.
  3. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ May 22, 2016 -> 06:34 PM) That's deceptive, as the Astros Cubs Mets and blue jays making the playoffs last year made that list much smaller. And let's not forget that Kansas City and Pittsburgh were on that list together as late as 2012. That's not deceptive. It's factual. In today's MLB, the White Sox inability to make the playoffs combined with the inability to build a real minor league system is simply unacceptable.
  4. Dallas Keuchel is terrible. 7 earned through 6
  5. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 22, 2016 -> 02:46 PM) No greg, Melky has power as he displayed it on his double earlier. He is probably not going to hit a lot of HR but he has XBH type power. He had 2 strikes and made an adjustment to just make contact. He is the best hitter on the team right now. Arguing about something good is refreshing.
  6. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 22, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) Hahn is probably the biggest part of the problem. How do you figure? He has inked some of the best contracts in baseball. Maybe by not firing Robin earlier and hiring a real manager.
  7. Trevor Daley out for the season. That totally sucks. Seems like a good dude.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 22, 2016 -> 09:23 AM) Agreed. I think Crede was/is overrated (thankful for contributions in 05 however). Right. And he had a great 06 season. I like the guy a lot, but he was a defensive force who could hit in the clutch, but was a negative offensive player.
  9. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 22, 2016 -> 09:40 AM) Changing the zone to make lower part above knee? Next step: hitters hitting off a tee. It's a smart move. We're in the middle of a huge offensive downturn and pitchers are heavily favored. People forget how hard it is to hit a baseball.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ May 20, 2016 -> 01:07 PM) I feel like Tom Hiddleston is basically auditioning for it now with his recent roles. And after "The Night Manager", I'm convinced he fits the bill. He's also almost a decade younger than Idris Elba.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 22, 2016 -> 06:50 AM) I read he got himself into trouble recently with some things he said on stage, and also he had tweeted some pro gun comments that he had to walk back. It's hard to really take in what he says at face value, he was in the middle of an extremely traumatic event that no doubt affected him That was my thought as well. I doubt he ever gets to a place where he can even talk about it clearly.
  12. Saw Eagles of Death Metal! Highly recommended. They're just ridiculous. I also don't find myself agreeing with their singer, Jesse Hughes. You just kind of deal.
  13. QUOTE (SpankyEaton @ May 21, 2016 -> 11:52 PM) And, I saw this article today - some cool history here and it's nice to see both parties get something done for a change. Do you see the Sox ever having an issue like this come up again with new ownership and having to move? I don't foresee it for a while, but considering where the growth is in the United States, anything could be possible in 20 years. Not to mention Illinois is the worst run state in the union.
  14. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 21, 2016 -> 06:42 PM) Agree with the Crede. After 06 I identified Thome as the entire problem with the White Sox. He was brutal to watch IMO. I know he somehow got on base, but he made me want to create a whole new statistic to send into fangraphs: POBP- Pointless On Base Percentage. Or OBP that doesn't help a team. 2007 Thome would have been the second best WAR player on the 2005 White Sox. You're completely wrong about him.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 21, 2016 -> 06:23 PM) Amazing how Crede is thought of as an all-time great and thome is brushed aside Which is crazy because everyone here values locker room guys. Jim Thome may be the classiest guy in MLB history. And Joe Crede had 1 year with a better WAR than Jim Thome in 2007.
  16. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ May 21, 2016 -> 06:09 PM) At least the corpses of the late 2000's hit homers sometimes. Outside of 2006, Thome was one of the worst things to ever happen to the white sox. Konerko, Thome & Dye had zero wheels. Needed three hits to score Thome. This is a different version of suckball. You can't be serious. He was almost as good in 2007 as he was in 2006.
  17. I still can't get used to Frank doing national games. Looking forward to watching Stros/Rangers, but seeing him makes me think the Sox will be on.
  18. QUOTE (ron883 @ May 21, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) Anybody change there opinions? Remember when I was ridiculed, but it turns out was totally right This attitude gets you nowhere.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ May 21, 2016 -> 04:56 PM) Way to ruin a 23-10 record in a hurry. 2-8 better be a blip. I'm concerned it's an adjustment. I just don't know how bad the team is.
  20. Saladino Name Meaning Italian: from the personal name Saladino, from Arabic (see Saladin), or nickname from this word denoting a bully or tyrant.
  21. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ May 21, 2016 -> 02:41 PM) We need to win this game It would certainly be nice
