  1. That's an at-bat right there. Although it's not an official one.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ May 10, 2016 -> 12:23 PM) Was really hoping my gut feeling was wrong. I was one of the rare who didn't really care for DoFP. Loved First Class though. Agreed. First Class was just great. DoFP? Meh.
  3. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 10, 2016 -> 06:11 PM) You mean that clickbait trash tossed out out like viral chum into the shark-infested waters of the Blogging Industrial Complex? I couldn't even make it through the first 30 seconds of that cringe inducing schlock. DiCaro will hammer anyone who so much as gives a woman the side-eye, except for the overly influencial lead host of the afternoon show at her own station who's been put on blast gawking at CSN hosts tits numerous times (he's been on Deadspin twice! for it). Julie has nothing to say about that though, I'm sure if pressed she'd tell you Bernstein never meant what he said and that he's "on the right side of things." A level of forgiveness I've never seen her afford to any of her other targets, but hey she knows the path to her own show on that dying station is paved by clickbait Cubs tweets and kissing Bernstein's ass. Take it up with your therapist. Don't be part of the problem.
  4. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 10, 2016 -> 03:57 PM) You really should not. Go watch that more than mean video and come back here and tell me that again. Powerful stuff. I like Julie a lot. She is doing a lot more important things than talking about baseball.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ May 10, 2016 -> 04:37 PM) Yah, cause KW traded away so many future all stars. He also didn't add much, either.
  6. Can I change my display name to "Deadpool"?
  7. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 10, 2016 -> 10:36 AM) He's the play by play guy though.... Agreed. Steve Stone calls pitches before they happen and provides real analysis of the game. Jason does a great job of filling the gaps with PBP and injections of real, meaningful statistics. Occasionally he'll make a Wilson Alvarez type reference from his childhood, but he does a really good job of letting the color analyst do his job. It's a masterpiece compared to the norm.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) For 2 months of Reddick....no way do you trade Anderson or Fulmer Total Kenny deal. Thank God he doesn't run trades.
  9. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ May 10, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) If the Sox aren't willing to give up Anderson or Fulmer, they'll likely get out-bid. The Sox have the payroll flexibility, but not the trade pieces right now. Plus, if I were Hahn, I'd be more worried about a replacement for Danks. Latos is coming back to Earth and Miguel Gonzalez is going to take the Sox out of games every now and again. I'm not sure I would part with Anderson or Fulmer.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 10, 2016 -> 03:46 PM) C. Trent Rosecrans @ctrent Bryan Price said Mesoraco had surgery today, damage was worse than anticipated. Recovery now at 6 mos. That's saying something considering how well most surgeries go in the MLB these days. 6 months. Yikes.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 10, 2016 -> 12:43 PM) My twitter timeline is talking about Mike Trout to the Cubs because of a dumbass Julie DiCaro tweet. She said they'd be interested. The same way i'd be interested in having sex with Scarlett Johansson. I have the utmost respect for Julie DiCaro...but ouch. That makes 0 sense.
  12. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 10, 2016 -> 03:31 PM) MLB lightened Mondesi's suspesion after he showed that what he popped hot for was in cold medicine. I dont buy it either. Yeah, that doesn't make a lot of sense. If it were in cold medicine, Mondesi didn't do anything wrong.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) The whole 45 first half stolen bases for scotty pods was pretty crazy. Probably around this time when a similar game happened where we were trailing or came back to tie. Pods got on base. Stole second. Bunt to third. Driven home. Sox win. It was just automatic with him on the base paths. I had way higher confidence on that team. But, I do feel really good late when Eaton comes up and knowing what comes behind him. That's something I just can't imagine happening unless you have a guy like Hamilton. Stealing is such a gamble at this point. That was spectacular.
  14. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 10, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) 30% on the year. It's getting a bit weird. I can't complain about the overall production, but putting a guy who's striking out 30% of the time in the 2 hole sounds like a bad idea. Are we talking about Avi or Lawrie?
  15. Maybe it's just that I'm used to the White Sox teams that can't defend, but I'm hesitant to do anything at 23-10.
  16. Everything about Pens-Caps I like I feel like I hate about the DAL-STL series. Dallas plays a fun style of hockey, but they do not match up well with the Blues and the Blues play the worst brand of hockey.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:28 PM) Oh come on Abreu That would have been an excellent play. He missed. Whatever.
  18. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) With your #3 and 4 hitters coming up. Get real dude we would've gotten an extra run this inning if he could. Inability to sacrifice bunt costs us a run. The 90s are over. The value of an out is better understood than ever.
  19. QUOTE (Scoots @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:14 PM) What are you kidding me? It's called sacrifice. Ever hear of a runner on 2nd with no one out and hitting a ball to the right side to advance the runner? You should NEVER generate an out. If Rollins would have bunted there, the inning is already over.
  20. QUOTE (Scoots @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:12 PM) Well, bunting is not generally pretty dumb. It can actually be extremely effective, when executed well. It's just that generally most situations don't call for players to bunt. When you are talking about the White Sox, yes bunting is generally pretty dumb because most of them can't really bunt. Bunting is giving away outs. You should never give away outs.
  21. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 9, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) Unless you're a pitcher at the plate, you should pretty much never bunt. Agreed 900%. Maybe if you're trying to win in the bottom of the ninth and you have a runner on. I dunno, even then a single gets runners moving.
