  1. How many teams outbid Reinsdorf? So he's cheaper than the Padres.
  2. He offered it. If Machado accepted, he would have paid it. Not sure what he can do. "Cheap" teams aren't offering $250 million for one free agent.
  3. Sox were a serious contender for the best free agent in baseball. They were second. They got outbid by a fairly insane offer. Sorry, I don't buy your bs on this.
  4. So basically you're telling me he's cheap because he wouldn't do ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING to get one player. Get real. lol. Change your username
  5. Soxtalk is just special... ...the owner who offered to break every club record in spending by a huge margin is cheap. That's just dumb.
  6. This draft is perceived as weak. Don't get me wrong, I think Ayo could stand to stay another year in Champaign, but experts seem to have him in the top 25.
  7. ESPN fires Adnan Virk following his leaking negotiation information between MLB and ESPN
  8. I understand the concern about tanking ruining sports, but if the alternative is the ridiculous European Soccer model where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, I'll take some teams tanking. There are about ten football clubs worth anything anymore and almost every league is a two horse race.
  9. Underwood gets two more seasons to figure this out. I'm not going to worry about losses in his second season with how good the underclassmen look
  10. I'm hoping this is true as it would likely be the first domino of many
  11. I might miss 1995 Hawk a little bit but Benetti is just leagues above 2017 Hawk. By the end you had to mute White Sox road games because Hawk was that bad. And Jason and Steve are already improving.
  12. Good. The Bulls need to be horrible. That way they can get Zion or Barrett.
  13. What? You low ball without offending and start there.
  14. I would give Lyle Mouton a 10 year, $20 million contract to play for the current White Sox if I knew we netted Machado by doing so.
  15. Or that Clark the Cub debacle from a few years back
  16. Yeah, but he just started. His sources are pre-ESPN. Olney is institutionalized at the booyah network. I wouldn't trust anything from him
  17. Until the next inevitable strike, I'm not sure what Trout would even get on the free agent market.
  18. Yup. Recent developments have created a de facto salary cap. No one wants to pay into any competitive balance tax. This will undoubtedly hurt salaries.
  19. Yankees didn't sign Alex Rodriguez to that contract. They signed him to a worse one. And based on the reluctance in the market, you think somehow a team would drop $370 million adjusted for inflation for A-Rod? Okay Skip Bayless.
  20. Who is they? The White Sox? They're clearly setting the basement and will negotiate.
