This might be a meatheaded question but I wonder how much effort Machado will put forth if he signs with a team for $100M less then he likely anticipated receiving? I think between Harper and Machado we can agree that Machado is the one who might get money-happy and quit giving a fuck. Maybe it happens even earlier if he doesn't get the deal he wanted all along.

See, I'll say MM signs before 700. This thread was flying but it's somewhat slowed. It feels like it got to 350 quickly but it's been slower to get to 600. I say Machado signs between today and 2/20.

I've interacted with AJ twice in the city and was a nice guy both times. He also would sign a ton of autographs before road games. He may have been hated by teammates and other MLB players but from my personal experiences he wasn't an asshole off of the field.

I think it's like 70% where the winning team in the MLB scores more runs in one inning than the losing team scores in the entire game, which backs up your point even more. It's rare that a single run will be the difference in a win unless of course it leads to a big inning, but only having two outs to do so is also rare.

He's face timing his brother in law. No matter the team he signs with, he wouldn't begin to hate his brother in law over it. I wouldn't think who he face times makes any difference.

Pages and pages ago, the same question was asked about LA compared to Chicago. I believe the tax consequences in CA were somewhere between 1.5-2M/season, but I could be wrong. I'm a financial advisor but I'm not licensed in CA so I'm not entirely sure.
