And he supposedly got an even bigger offer elsewhere that he turned down to be closer to home.

Official NHL COVID season thread

One day they're beating Toronto in their building, the next they're losing a home game to the f***ing Canucks -
I'm not sure "a bunch" of undrafted punters could beat out the 14th best NFL punter, but there may have been one or two. Finding that guy was the trick, and knowing that O'Donnell likely knows the wind/surface/stadium pretty well, Pace probably didn't want another Parkey situation.

He was a middle of the road punter last year and was extended at the price of a middle of the road punter.

Those two are instructing kids on how to hit a baseball?

But hey, in 2021 there are some good free agents. Baez, Bryant, etc. *fart*

It was me. The odds of me apologizing are about a billion to one. Next. -
Except Gomez is also wrong RT @Ken_Rosenthal: The report of the #WhiteSox and Eloy being close on 8-year, $100M deal is both inaccurate and unrealistic. Scott Kingery signed largest contract for a player who had yet to appear in majors - 6 yrs, $24M with 3 club options. Only other such deal: Jonathan Singleton (5 yrs, $10M).

Alonso is going to be a constant reminder of what could have been, isn't he?
-
Someone tweeted the police reports and it seems Hill isn't the one responsibls. One lists Hill and a few others but it's listed as "closed" and in the other he isn't even listed as a suspect. These were tweeted by @arothfield about 14 hours ago.

He allegedly broke his 3 year old's arm

Speaking of visits, I believe they have visited with A&M's RB Trayveon Williams twice now.

At the final second of a game they have complete player by player grades. No write ups, no commentary, just an imaginary grade based on nothing. For this to be possible they'd literally have to employ over 820 people to do this, and so I think it's more of a guess on how they played. Even if they do have that large of a staff, who are the people grading them? Are they professionals? For instance they didn't have Mack as a top 5 NFL defender through the first 6 weeks of the season last year. A few years ago that had Amos as a better SS than Kam Chancellor. It's a joke.
-
As I've said many times, whether it's HHCD or Amos, they were going to be one of the 2 or 3 worst players on the defense. It's about not being a complete fuck up out there and everything will be fine. As for PFF, that website is nonsense and anyone who trusts those "scouting reports" and "game recaps" are just as goofy.

Ok, and this makes your senseless stupidity in this thread more understandable? Go away

The Sox best prospect since Frank Thomas could be on the verge of an 8 year, $100M extension and a few asshats are in the thread trying to big dick one another discussing how cool they are. What a joke.

There's virtually no chance any team offered a 3rd for Howard. He's a slow RB with questionable hands who's gotten worse each year. I find that hard to believe.
-
He wouldn't, but you're talking about a 30 year old who hasn't played a full season since 2014 and was just cut by an organization with a horrendous defense. How good and how reliable is he at this stage?
-
But Pace has specialized in finding not only role players but really good players in those rounds: Howard 5, Amos 5, Cohen 4, Jackson 4, Nichols 5, so now he has to do it again. My bad on the Mack comment. I reread it and it makes sense
-
But how have the Patriots improved? Chargers? Rams? Chiefs? Seahawks? Eagles? Colts? Saints? You fit those miniscule holes in the draft, not by signing older guys to large deals. Mack isn't comparable. That's an All Pro, DPOY who's on his way to Canton in his prime.
-
The thing is, the Bears don't really have a lot of holes that they NEED to address. I know it's fun when teams spend money but those teams- Oakland, Jets, Bucs, Dolphins- are doing this every year for a reason- they draft bad each year and need to find guys from other teams, a la what the Bears had to do for years. But now, the Bears are finding 2-3 good players every spring no matter the round, so they don't really have big problems. They needed a runner, they needed receiver depth and the kick returning had to improve. Well they got better at back-up RB (Davis > Cunningham). They got better at WR (Patterson > Bellamy). They got better at KR (Patterson > Miller & Cunningham). People will argue that Skrine is terrible, but his ypt given up was a yard better than Callahan's in 2018 and his completion percentage against was 4% better than Callahan's in 2018. Does he take a lot of penalties? Sure, but now he won't have to defend for 5+ seconds on every snap. They probably still need another rush linebacker. A strong safety would be ideal, but like Amos was, this SS will be the 9th or 10th best player on their defense anyway; not every starter will be great. They definitely still need a kicker. However they can address these spots in the draft and with UDFA's (punter and kicker).

Rock bottom will be if the rebuild is a complete flop come 2023/2024, because then it'll be another TEN fucking years from today until another Sox rebuild's players are hitting the majors.

Ah, the Matthews taunt followed by the Kane reenactment -
Well it would make sense financially because at that point he'd be able to be cut with no cap penalty and consequently Trubisky, Jackson and Cohen would then all be UFA's
