  1. You can't take a chance here. Remove him. If his hamstring tightened up, why can't it occur again an inning from now? Or grow progressively worse? What Hawk just mentioned right now is the key. Jose may compensate for his injury by altering his delivery. This is ALL on Guillen -- have to remove him immediately after this inning and not risk an injury.
  2. That's definitely not good. Contreras down, appears to have issues with his hamstring.
  3. LOL. Of course, Pierzynski defies my post and hits a HR. Now you can question the move to send Gload. Only appropriate.
  4. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) Great decision by Cora there..... This game is going to be painful, isn't it..... Those decisions often are the baserunners.
  5. I don't blame Gload. You have to do everything within your power to scratch across a run, especially considering our position. Anyone honesetly believe Pierzysnki would have had a basehit?
  6. Thank God Konerko isn't up here. He'd just love to end a rally with a delicious DP.
  7. QUOTE(juddling @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 05:10 PM) Ashley Simpson in Chicago I know women can change their look sometimes by simply changing hair styles and dropping(or adding) a few pounds but i swear this is a whole different person. She had rhinoplasty performed. It changed her appearance for the better. Haven't heard about the other changes the title seems to suggest. Also, in those pictures she's practically drenched in makeup. See her look like that on stage dancing her little SNL jig.
  8. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) Boone Logan is not Pat Neshek.... Of course he isn't. Neshek has immediately contributed to his team. Logan, as could be expected, has struggled. I have a feeling we're going to continue making these comparisons with the prospects of divisional rivals and ours. And few, if any, will be in our favor.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) Sox are in an odd spot. Kenny could go balls out, try to win this thing again next year and maybe in 08, then things could get really ugly in 09. Or, you could kinda downgrade next season, but trade a few guys that have alot of value(Contreras, maybe Mark, maybe Thome) and get some great young talent back, see what you have for 08. I dont see Kenny doing the latter, but who knows. I could appreciate the long-term value of trading several key components this offseason. How I figure it, Minnesota and Detroit are superior teams with the possibility of sustaining success with young players and contributing minor league systems. If accepting mediocrity next season means we'll be in a better position to compete 08' and beyond, I'm in favor of it.
  10. I've been skeptical of our playoff chances for several weeks. It's been apparent to anyone closing monitoring this team they're too inconsistent as a unit to sustain a winning streak. When the days began winding down, our problems were still obvious on the field (and Guillens head), it became obvious this team wasn't going anywhere in October. Of the suggestions you noted, the one I'd object to -- because it's unlikely -- is trading Thome. Who can we expect to replace his production?
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:48 PM) So this year will be another year where we will pick a pitcher who can barely break a plane of glass with his fastball, and they will pick up some stud who will be throwing 97 and destroying us for the next 4 years. Either that, or they'll trade an expendable player to another ballclub for an absolute pillage of quality minor league pitchers. Where's our Justin Duscherer?
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) The Twins have Nathan, Rincon, Neshek, Reyes, and Crain. We have Thornton, and half of MacDougal and Jenks. HEY, as several members would say, you can't compare us to Minnesota. They're too good at producing minor league pitching! 29 OTHER TEAMS WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEIR BULLPEN!!111 Ignore the fact they're within our division, will have a far superior team over the unforseeable future, and still have a minor league system far and beyond ours.
  13. Ha, every move Guillen made today has backfired.
  14. About the entire message board saw that coming AND NOW HERMANSON IS COMING IN? Eh, doesn't matter. Our best bullpen arms have already been used. Doesn't matter who pitchers hereafter, the baseball is going to be hit hard somewhere.
  15. JESUS f***ING CHRIST. I can't watch this anymore. Fox announcers ripping into Alomar's pitch selection. This team can't help but choke in Oakland. It's all over if they fail to win this afternoon. You have to imagine, probability suggests either Minnesota or Detroit win. Our inconsistency can't magically reemerge with 14 games left.
  16. Why is nothing ever easy in Oakland? Seemingly can't retire their team 1-2-3 in order past the 6th inning.
  17. Thank God Scuttaro swung or else it may have been called ball four. And the pitch was practically right down the plate.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:19 PM) The ump today has been inconsistent enough that Fox was showing questionable calls in the 4th inning. Yet the didn't show perhaps the worst missed call all day. OR THAT PITCH!
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:12 PM) Uribe should really be trying to take the walk here. He shouldnt' even be swinging, as many pitches as Zito has thrown and as wild as he's been. And as soon as I click post... Atleast our impatient hitters have given Zito an opportunity to win!
  20. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) Miss the 1st few innings? Meant Thome. Don't know why I typed Dye. Was in reference to the comparisons between the two that was discussed earlier in the game.
