Sox vs. A's 9/16 | 3:05, FOX

Why can't Dye have the success against Oakland that Thomas has had against us? In the backdrop of the comments our organization has made towards Frank, it's only fitting he'd kill us. Another embarrassment this team has provided us. -

Anyone else believe a good relay nails Anderson easily at homeplate? Cora is lucky. And how about Uribe not reading a ball that Anderson appeared to have known off the bat it was a double. -

Ha, terrible read from Swisher allows a golden opportunity for more runs to cross homeplate. -

Well, Comcast saved me the agony of watching one hour of White Sox baseball. According to the TV listings, the game began at 4pm. Vazquez needs to continue pitching well. We need this win. Garland soiled himself yesterday -- as well as the ofense and defense -- can't have that again. -
QUOTE(BamaDoc @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 09:52 AM) With the exception of Garland, none of our pitchers has had a great year thus it will be hard to get full value for any of them. Of course. We're never in a good position concerning the value of our players. I want to know where the general manager is out there who is willing to overpay for Garcia because he's a "proven veteran?" Every damn offseason there's a literal steal -- why can't it be us? This is what aggrivates me. You just know we'll trade him for scraps.

This team is unfolding into a collosal embarrasment. Watch, knowing the 2006 White they'll crawl back into the wildcard race, only to be throughly assraped the final weekend in Minnesota. Everygame will be 13-0, and Boof Bonser/Carlos Silva will shut us out. If they fail to reach the postseason -- which appears more likely everyday -- no one can state the opportunity never presented itself. The faults lie within our own club. Not because Minnesota or Detroit were fair superior teams down the stretch, because that hasn't been the case. Their teams overall are better than ours, yes; but not to the extent that neither divison or wildcard leads were unsurmountable. Minnesota didn't have Liriano available, whereas Detroit continues to maintain their division lead admist a mini-collapse. And we failed to capitalize in both circumstances. It's f***ing pathetic.

QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) Except for the last start, where he crapped his pants, Esteban has been on a roll for like 9 games. Isn't it possible that he is just pitching well... and the white sox aren't terrible pieces of crap? 1 hit through five innings against Loaiza? I'm not giving him that much credit. First two innings reeked of an offense completely unprepared. Since then, it's just been the typical, post ASB White Sox offense who can be dominated by any pitcher regardless of previous success.
-
Garland, atleast for this evening, retains his early season status of a walking tampon after this outting. Leadoff man now aboard 4 of 5 innings. This is embarrassing.
-
Joe Crede perfecting his pop-up stroke. End of inning.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) Lets get some f***ing runs. If our offense sees less than 9 pitches this inning I'm turning off the TV and calling it a night. It'll be too much for me to bare.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 15, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) Ugh. We are going to need some losses by the Twins and Tigers this weekend. We just need to survive these three games. Just gotta win 1 out at this stupid place. Frankly, this entire team is playing like a collection of pussies and it's becoming disgusting to watch. There's only 16 games remaining. You can't hold out for anything, or hope the teams your chasing lose. Tonight is a PERFECT opportunity to gain ground on Minnesota. We need to win tonight. Garland pitching without a fresh tampon, Mackowiak/Dye's poor fielding isn't helping.
-
Bad decision from Dye. His MVP chances are diminishing by the day.

THAT DIVE WAS TERRIBLE! LOL

Jesus Christ, Thome. Step up once every week.
-
Alright, Garland needs to begin pitching like an ace from this point forward. We absolutely need this win.

If I were Gooch I would have been tempted to let the ball drop. Kendal didn't appear to hustle out of the box.

Several hours ago, about half a block away from my house, there was a crash involving Eisenhow football players -- as I gathered -- driving to post-practice/pre-homecoming festivities. Cook County Police taped off Harlem Ave. between 135th and 131st to recreate the scene. Never a good sign. Neither were the departing ambulances without sirens. Neither were the several Eisenhower football players crying on the side of the street. I'm not certain if it'll reach tomorrows presses, but if there were fatalities, I feel terrible for all parties involved. Even if the accident was the result of alcohol/drug consumption, whenever a student dies tragically it literally tears apart a community. From personal experience I can say this.

SOX VS ANGELS.... Garcia 1 hit gem

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) Is that really Freddy pitching? Since I can't see it with my own two eyes I'm questioning it somewhat. Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm following through gameday and can't believe what I'm viewing. It's pratically the best case scenario. Everything is clicking; starting pitcher dominating, offense dominating. Haven't seen many of these games since the All-Star break. Although I'm not going to say this game will turn it all around, as people seemed inclined to say following every victory. What I like most about this game (so far..) is it happened following a Minnesota loss. Players had to realize what happened. There may be absolutely not correlation between a Minnesota loss and this game, but it's easier to speculate now, rather than a reversal -- down 7 runs, held scoreless. -
SOX VS ANGELS.... Garcia 1 hit gem

Now, with this lead our offense still should concern itself with scoring. Fairly early in the game. Just last week we witnessed a similar situation unfold where a large lead was taken, only to be squandered by the pitching. No time to experience a let down. -

Guess it's not just Americas problem anymore. -
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) Well Liriano is hurt again, so we could win 2 of 3 up there now. Still think it's Tigers or bust though. Doesn't help much when Garza is pitching well out of the bullpen. Haren has to continue dominating.

QUOTE(Balance @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) They're all pretty much "must win" games from here on out. Now's time for our team to begin playing like it. I don't give a f*** about Saunders' home stats, or the mere fact he's a lefty. They need to hike up their panties and defeat him. I'm not tipping my hat anymore. -

QUOTE(S720 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) All of us know the team is going through such a TOUGH time right now. I don't believe the constant whining, complaining and crying will do any good for the team. What good is it to be constantly negative of the team? If we win the next two games, things will look much better, and I FEEL the wins in my bones. I tell you one thing. It was one hell of a ride FOR ME last year, and it has been a good ride for me this year. The majority of the teams in the league do not have what we have right now - the race to the finish line! Don't even begin this bulls*** of "oh, atleast we have a pennat race," or "atleast we won last year." I'm honestly sick of hearing people say this. I'm not having the mere excitment of this playoff push, or fact we won it last year, cloud reality. There's what, 17/18 games left? I've seen what this baseball team is capable of for over 140 games. They're terrible inconsistent -- especially after the second half -- and no more than two divisions of the team seem to be clicking together at any given time. Now, how am I supposed to believe they're going to overcome Minnesota/Detroit? They'll suddenly begin playing more cohesively during a tough stretch of baseball against good opponents? MY ASS. Everygame matters. Losses such as last night shouldn't occur. Sox realistically need to win roughly 80% of their remaining games. The last series against Minnesota in Minnesota worries me. If we're entering with less than a 2 1/2 game lead on either Min or Det, there's going to be trouble. Can't expect to win 2/3 there. I shouldn't even be upset. They had their opportunity. Give it to Minnesota for actually playing better without Liriano. Could we be expected to do that if Garland suddenly were unavailable?
