  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 05:44 PM) You know how managers are. When they see lefty-lefty, they can't resist. Especially Robin. Mauer has too much patience, not a good matchup for Duke. Although everyone is seemingly a good matchup against him lately
  2. Duke against mauer with runners on!? Please end this inning now albers
  3. Minnesota has out White Sox'd the White Sox so far this game
  4. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 05:24 PM) Lol Jacksons arm is so bad. What are you doing Mauer. Yeah no kidding, watching him set up and throw a dribbling ball into the pitcher, a good 70 ft away Mauer didn't know who was out there
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 05:18 PM) He took a strike right over the plate lol He had that David Ortiz, if I didn't swing how the hell is it a strike, look on him
  6. It's a shame his injury is so severe, nothing worse than watching your team from the sidelines What has to be troubling too is the DH isn't coming to the National League anytime soon, and he sure as hell won't be traded upon returning. He'll have to be thrown out into the OF again where he obviously is a liability to the team and himself
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 04:47 PM) Danks gonna give that run back? Yes, yes he will
  8. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 04:24 PM) Or swing.. Jesus It's to the point, if he throws three strikes in a sequence it's a surprise. They're really helping him out this game. This AB against Eaton may be his best yet considering his control
  9. Well atleast Danks made it through that inning unscatched. Need the offense to start chipping away now
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 04:01 PM) Ball took off cause of the wind...he had no chance at it. It does appear his arm is garbage, which is bad news considering Eaton throwing a bowling ball in RF. Ok so the official count is 2 runs directly attributed to Danks, and 3 because of poor defense and God's sense of humor stirring up the wind.
  11. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 03:55 PM) Also that was a bad route by Jackson Please stop with the excuses. Even if we lived in the world of "Danks should have ended the 1st with one run, he still gave up two this inning when he should have done hos job and settled down He's wetting the bed in front of a sellout crowd. Terrible performance.
  12. Uh oh another Danks run. Or are we going to gove Danks a pass there too and blame The wind and Jackson?
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) 3 batters, 3 full counts for Salazar. He couldn't locate worth a damn and still had 2 k's. Better off not even swinging the bat. Eaton and Rollins would have had walks
  14. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) Wind is blowing out Danks has to pitch in the same conditions unfortunately
  15. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) Why is everyone s***ting on Danks? He should be out of the inning with only 1 earned run, the defense screwed him there. Ok, let's play this game of taking blame off Danks. Outside influences played a part, yes. Let's see how he does from this point forward. Danks cannot give up ANY more runs. Have to keep it at 3 runs
  16. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 03:38 PM) People seriously were wondering why fans wanted to wait until tomorrow to go instead of Opening Day? Im not paying big money to see John Danks suck. You'd just see him suck another day
  17. Danks looks atrocious. Nice welcome to all the fans
  18. QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 10:45 AM) It is important to note that Oakland is likely to be the worst team in the AL. Gotta win the games you're supposed to win though. We've seen in years past how unexpected matchups can be. That can be true among all of MLB. Still, worst in the AL this season still means you're better than atleast 6-7 NL teams lol
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 08:56 AM) Isn't a sprain techinically a ligament tear? Obviously there are differences in the degree of the tear, but a bad sprain is still a pretty bad injury. It just doesn't sound so bad. That's exactly what a sprain is, and while the term itself doesn't suggest it's any more severe than a broken ankle (I think most would just assume it wasn't) there are differences that actually make it worse. I personally know because I sprained my ankle badly last year. The X Ray was clear of any breaks, however the MRI showed several tears to ligaments and tendons. My rehabilition was for over a month and it took awhile to do everyday activities without pain. This was with a Grade 2 sprain that I recovered quickly from. Now, as a professional athlete with top doctors at his disposal who knows how long any DL stinct would be, but even for a less severe Grade 1 sprain Schwarber should be resting for a week or two.
  20. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 04:28 PM) It's only 4 games, but a good start like this is really, really big. With a lot of characters on this team, things can snowball either way, both positive and negative. This inning right here is a GREAT way to head back to Chicago. Splitting two games I would have been satisfied. I just didnt want the narrative of "spring training distractions carrying over" starting before our home series. It's an easy and lazy talking point. Plus even though we're only four games in, April has always started traditionally slow for the Sox and this is a welcomed change.
  21. Nice insurance run. What are the chances we'll see a simple, 1-2-3 9th inning?
  22. As this has continued to gain momentum and more comes out that (I believe) further indicts Williams as have handled it poorly, I believe this should be his last season. We've always been arguing about how much he meddles in team construction, now he has moved beyond that with this incident and has created a huge distraction. I'm not even saying he was wrong to limit clubhouse access. We're just past the point of establishing who's right or wrong -- because it's the players and their feelings that matter. Between Williams and ANYONE (even Drake Laroche) id pick the player. I guess we'll see how this translates to the field. In some alternate universe it may not have changed anything if the whole nonsense never came up to begin with, but i know I've just about reached my KW limit. Laroche isn't without blame, but he's a problem we'll be without. The next problem KW remains
  23. http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/laroche...te-sox-ventura/ Wow here I thought it would be months before these types of articles would be written.
  24. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 10:14 PM) Doesn't this almost make LaRoche look worse? There was an agreement. Things can change. They had a discussion, apparently a week ago, and LaRoche continued to bring his son into the clubhouse every day. Another conversation is had, and LaRoche picks up his ball and goes home? Circumstances change in business every day. Among the fans/general public it probably does. Not many would sympathesize with his issue and the alleged non-written, gentleman's agreement to have his son around. However, I fear his teammates think differently and I believe Kaplan's tweet about players supporting him (notably Sale). It's an issue they have encountered for the last year and whether it was in his comtract or not probably means more to teammates who may have their own out-of-contract provisions. I don't disagree with Williams creating a new policy. However, I HATE its timing and moreso that is becomes yet another typical White Sox distraction. I can't wait for it to be referenced later if the team is struggling. "Cracks began to show within the team in preseason when VP Kenny Williams broke an agreement with first baseman Adam Laroche......"
