  1. QUOTE (ronkark @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 11:37 PM) 72 ABs Zero walks. given that was one of the things he was told to work on, that's concerning. He's making Alexei Ramirez look patient. You can't do that unless you're overly aggressive. I mean, that doesn't even seem possible. He has to have come across some pitcher unabe to find the strike zone.
  2. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 10:31 PM) It really sucks but they just need to release him, it's not going to work. Time to move on and attempt to find an alternative, the guy is toast and I feel awful for him. I honestly don't feel bad for him. I understand what he was and possibly what he could have been, but as of now, he's a liability. This emotional attachment is just going to hurt us in the long run. Let's say he pitches two straight quality starts, does this earn him another month of wetting the bed? I hate to think this way with how the team is playing, but if having one or two more terrible starts in a row means he's gone I'll accept it. The old White Sox would let loyalty trump victories. I'd hope Hahn understands this team deserves better. Whomever that better is, we'll find out -- but its not Danks
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 08:12 PM) Hope that's the last we ever see of Danks It's for the greater good to have Danks pitch terribly from here on out if they're considering releasing him We don't need any 5IP, 3ER aberrations as an excuse to keep him around
  4. Just noticed the boxscore and jumped in. There haven't been any of these excuses for Danks tonight, right? he just had one bad inning it would have been (x runs) if the defense had done their job Can't win games scoring (x runs) Who else would we have as the 5th starter?
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 06:17 PM) Avi got on base today which led to a run. But by all means Sox 12-6 in first place find the negative and dwell on it. Spring Training went well, they are 12-6 and is there more than one or two players on the roster that already haven't been ragged about? White Sox fans live to moan. Please explain why Garcia should be on this team without bringing up their overall record or spring training results.
  6. Abreu needs to think smart here and not be swinging first pitch
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 04:29 PM) Abreu really needs to sit. Don't think I've ever said this about him, but he's hurting the team right now. That'll never happen, and I don't think it should. It's entirely mental. You just don't forget how to hit. And say all we want about the fastball in/slider away combo killing him, he had atleast two absolute meatball pitches to destroy and fouled them off. That's not the league figuring him out -- it's Abreu getting out Abreu
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 04:26 PM) It is past a slump Especially when someone is basically serving up pitches to be t'd off on
  9. You may as well just lose this game now. A lot of bad and bad luck (the HR that wasn't) these last few innings
  10. How many meatballs can a guy get away with in one f***ing inning!?
  11. He looks very defeated up there with no confidence
  12. Abreu looks just terrible up there. He fouled off a hanging breaking ball
  13. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 04:13 PM) Nothing we can do about all the stupid shut that just went down. Need the heart of the lineup to win this here. We can atleast make sure it doesn't happen again. Bad bunt from Jackson, slide from Garcia, coaching to allow Navarro to chug around 3B on a ball hit to shallow CF
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) Rollins has to do everything to knock that down and he didn't. I'm tired of his defense and lack of range Absolutely, it's his job at that point to prevent the ball from going into the outfied more than worrying about the runner. My issue is, you should expect your catcher to have more behind his throw
  15. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) The dreaded lead off walk And the dreaded inability to throw from the catcher or catch from the shortstop. At worst it would have been 3rd with 2 outs
  16. Absolutely terrible this last inning of White Sox baseball
  17. Robertson pitching scared. You have the damn shadow helping you.....all you have to do is throw strikes
  18. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) Hopefully that does not come back to bite Doesn't it almost feel like it should? Almost like punishment for baseball stupidity
  19. Two outs at the plate in one inning after scoring the go ahead run? Lol.
  20. If Garcia slides into the plate its a hell out a lot closer. The White Sox are just terrible with anything bunting related
  21. Good job not doing anything but sitting still Avi!
  22. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 22, 2016 -> 09:07 AM) His mechanics are relatively clean. He curls his lower half around that might give that illusion but lands straight and doesn't go across his body. Nice recovery phase. I dont know if his mechanics scream shoulder surgery to me. Granted I'm not an expert on sports physiology, I just recall an MLB network feature detailing his effectiveness with a delivery that some believed to be "illegal" because he appears to throw from the shortstop position (due to his windup) while releasing the pitch across his body; which gives added movement and deception to the pitches. I'd be more willing to believe he can continue producing injury free for many years if: one, there were more pitchers with a cross body delivery who aviided injury; and two, if he had not just refined his mechanics last season.
  23. Arrieta will have a significant shoulder injury within the next year or two, guaranteed. He throws completely across his body in a manner developed by moving further on the pitching rubber. I see Andrew Miller whenever I think of Arrieta. If he was coming out of college everyone would be screaming injury risk. Granted, he may have a World Series win by that time, but no way I'd sign him to a long term deal
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) Most predictable strikeout of the season. I miss first half 2014 Abreu. Abreu is not thinking enough at the plate. If the opposing pitchers are throwing inside pitchers and outside sliders to take advantage of his aggressiveness, just be more selective. He's getting himself out on swinging strikes because he's pressing to carry a struggling offense. A stat was mentioned how he's far more patient with runners on base.
