GT 7/3 White Sox @ Detroit Keuchel v. Skubal 3:10 PM CT
Cmon, you really think bitching at the ump will get use a better strike zone? Not a chance. The reason we have a "strike zone" issue is because Collins is horrendous at framing and pulls pitches off the plate.

7/3 Games
Elijah Tatis has pretty much been striking out every AB. @Y2Jimmy0 is Wilber Sanchez a guy to watch? I saw he put up a .391 OBP in DSL at 17. Not sure that means too much in that league.

That doesn't sound bad. That means he should be back within a couple days. If you mean it's not good that we have 1 catcher, I agree.

You can make it up, because you are right now. When did I ever say Jose Abreu sucks? I should report you for lying and putting words in my mouth. Slander.

Gavin Sheets - STUD
Gavin Sheets recent minor league stats actually look pretty damn comparable to his dad's stats in AA and AAA, at similar ages.
-
The Andrew Vaughn LF Thread
The team would be better long-term if Sheets played some 1st base so Jose could heal up. His tough guy routine has grown old. It's a long season. No reason to play in the field every single chance you can, especially while banged up.

The Bryan Reynolds thread
There is zero chance this happens. Think of the Adam Eaton trade, except more expensive. He's on track for 6+ fWAR this year and has 4.5 years of control. It would take Crochet, Burger ++.

The Andrew Vaughn LF Thread
Abreu has said before that he will not DH. To his credit, he improved his 1st base defense big time. However, it may simply become a detriment to the team at some point. Vaughn is probably a better defensive 1st baseman at this point. He definitely has more range. I'd imagine Sheets is better to. At some point, they'll just have to tell Abreu to suck it up and be the DH.

Gavin Sheets - STUD
Can anybody think of a comparable player - one that was just decent in the minors, but really turned it up once they got the the majors? Maybe AAA was truly his turning point, who knows. He made adjustments to his swing to get more loft on it.

Internal Hitting Options (Split from Escobar thread)
Brian Goodwin up to a 148 OPS+. Where's the love for him?

I predict that Vaughn will rip this LHP's heart out and eat his soul

Eaton: why is he needed anymore?
We don't know that though. He had a good April, sure. He was awful aside from that. Was he just unhealthy the entire time? Can he even stay healthy at this point? The stats show that he his horrendous. I guess we'll have to wait and see how good he is now that he is technically "healthy".

GT 7/2 White Sox @ Detroit Tigers 6:10 PM CDT
Eloy will never learn anything from Vaughn about playing the OF - because he will never play it again.
-
Eaton: why is he needed anymore?
Eaton has been garbage this year. He had one average month then fell off. The Sox have found good OF production from Vaughn, Goodwin, Sheets and Hamilton. Robert is obviously penciled in as the CFer, and Engel as the 4th OF. Eloy will DH I would guess. Where does that leave Eaton? I see no reason to keep him on the roster as our OFers return to the lineup. Do you think they will DFA him despite his "veteran presence" and 7 mil salary? Does he have any use in your opinion?
