Why are people so convinced teams will be offering buyous at year 2-3?

Something else to consider is that the White Sox can afford to frontload a contract more than any other teams. Money is always better now rather than later. This may be appealing enough to push an opt out to later in the contract.

Out of 30 teams. That isn't bad. Just a reminder to all doom and gloomers that it ain't easy to win a world series, and most cities don't get to experience it. It could be much much worse.

I think it is time to end the Dylan Covey Experiment this offseason. Aside from some early starts this year, the dude has been hot garbage. Im not sure he is even good enough to be a reliever. Does he get a shot next year or is it ova?

Nope. You need to hit 172 service days for a full year of service. They can bring him up for 10 games, then keep him down 10 games longer than they would have next year. You should bone up on your free agency knowledge before you slander my idea.

Who would be opposed? You get the fans excited and you show free agents like Machado what the future holds. You stash Eloy and Hamilton in AAA however many games next year then call them up. It would be awesome to see Eloy this year.
