  1. This would be a pleasant change of pace. He usually plays like garbage at the beginning of the season.
  2. He actually said 75m more JUST to get their attention. It would take 100-125m more to actually sign them apparently lmao
  3. The Sox will have to outbid other teams by $100-125 million dollars for them to sign? That is a fricken joke dude. We have a top 3 farm system and play in Chicago. Regardless, these guys would probably play for a little league team if they bid 100m higher than the next bidder. I'm glad you aren't the GM.
  4. He will definitely cost more than that. The dude has very solid stats. The Sox could always deal him during the trade deadline or after this season, but he won't come cheap
  5. Luis Robert is fucking legit
  6. Let me know if you have any extra of those rose colored glasses you put on when evaluating Abreu. It must be nice to envision Jose as this perennial MVP type player the way you and others do.
  7. I think you mean what an OF trio he, Eloy, and Bryce will be
  8. Wow I didn't realize how bad 1B was in the AL this year. Jose lucked out. Congrats though
  9. How about Bryce Harper? Conveniently left him out.
  10. Lots of people have been saying that it might be a ruse. They give this presentation, low ball Harper and Machado at 250m, then tell the fan base "oh well, we tried"
  11. Completely different league with different salary rules. There is no max contract in the MLB. Sox can go balls to the wall and outbid everybody
  12. I'm talking about the amount he got. Michael got 30m+ for multiple years back in the fricken 90'. Reinseorf forked up unprecedented dollars to the best player in the league for multiple years. I don't think it's unbelievable that he will do the same with these generational talent type FAs. He has shown he can go balls to the wall.
  13. I apologize, my post was overly condescending. I think these guys know of the top prospects in the game, such as Eloy and Vlad Jr. If not, their agent will quickly make them aware of the top prospects on the team offering big-time dollars.
  14. Yeah, sure. And Jon Lester didn't know who Kris Bryant was when he signed with the Cubs. Are you serious?
  15. When has that ever happened? That is an absurd notion.
  16. Which offseasons are you referring to?
  17. He could become part of the White Sox familia
  18. I'm going to boo Rick Hahn if this happens
  19. In what world are their financial resources limited? They have cap space galore.
  20. LeBron James this past offseason.
  21. They are all fine examples. Our owner has proven he will spend if need be. The Machado and Harper free agencies are almost unprecendented, given their age and ability. Arod is comparable. You will find it difficult to find a comparable historical signing for ANY other team in the MLB. The past has little to do with this IMO. Simply put, the White Sox are in as good of a position as any other team. To write them off with 100% certainty due to the past is ridiculous.
  22. How many teams have given out a 300m dollar contract in the mlb? That line of thought could be used for almost every other team in the mlb. The freaking Marlin's did it. If they would sign a 300m+ contract, any team has the potential to do it.
