QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 08:39 AM) The Bears are gonna have a ton of cap space, right? I'm really excited for the offseason. Von Miller could be a target. He'll get tagged at the very least. Malik Jackson and Derek Wolfe are likely players I could see the Bears going after.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 08:33 AM) Yeah, he's apparently upset about his role in the red zone offense. He's dropped so many balls this year. Dwayne Allen is a FA next year, I think Bears would go after him.

Sounds like Martellus Bennett will be gone after this season.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 06:42 PM) That's actually a pretty interesting proposal. Would a Q for Sanchez, Bird, and Jagielo trade be fair for both teams? That is beyond awful for the Sox. -

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 06:28 PM) Now that I look at his stats, I really want Peter O'Brien. He has major power at the catcher position. He's not a catcher anymore. They had him in LF all year. -

Say we sign Navarro? How long and how much? My guess is 2 years/6-8 million -

Navarro had a 894 OPS against LH starters last year and batted 266 with a 715 OPS away from Toronto last season. Encouraging. -
Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 1m1 minute ago Dioner Navarro fits White Sox very well with Tyler Flowers non-tendered. They need offense, and he's best-hitting catcher left on FA market.

Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 1m1 minute ago One name to keep an eye on as White Sox seek a catcher: Dioner Navarro. Sense among competitors is something could come together quickly.

I am so happy that Flowers is gone. Quick question though, when you non tender someone, can you still resign him? -

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 05:52 PM) So Avila is starting? Naw. Can't be with his injuries last season. Something else is cooking I agree. Back on the Derek Norris train! -

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) Sign the sign in sheet then sneak out. It's a class of 15 and there isn't a sign in sheet. She knows everyone's face and name. Last class before finals too.... -
QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 01:40 PM) without sounding snarky, but the gm meeting hasn't even started.... lets wait for 2 weeks or so before spring training. GM Meetings were at the beginning of November. You're thinking of the Winter Meetings that are coming up next week.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 11:54 AM) What team would trade for Manziel? He is trouble off the field and pretty awful on the field. I think the Browns should just admit that they made a typical Browns move in drafting him and just cut him. Browns will most likely do the wrong thing. Dallas Cowboys

Back to Atlanta, Georgia to play for the Braves. 1 year/1.25 million. Let's start an appreciation thread!

Illinois vs Notre Dame tonight in the newly renovated State Farm Center. They are also honoring Lou Henson tonight. Big night for the Illini. Super pumped, but I got night class -
QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 02:26 AM) no offense but i agree with the idea that price is worth his contract. he help shows the fan base including the season ticket holder and the fans with premium seating that they are out for business. we help in more local adv coming in, to the stadium adv, players adv, team logo selling adv, local tv commercial adv, more new corp adv money.... and help with the tv games for out of st fans. plus many more i can't even think. the rtn on the invested money will be a whirl wind. this is why i said and mention signing a Heyward, plus getting an additional sp on the cheap, and 1 very smart and savvy trade to replenish the system, will do wonders for the sox, maybe not like bos. the sox needs a big influx of positive media to do what they can't afford like getting of a Price contract. They showed that last year too with the signings of Hanley and Pablo. It's Boston and Fenway park, they sellout every game. The Price move isn't a PR move to get people in the seats, it's to make their ball club better, but at what price (no pun intended)? David Price is not worth that contract. Luckily for Boston, there's an opt out clause after 3 years.
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 09:57 PM) Why would it effect a deal with the Rockies? They weren't in on Price. They need pitching. Q's value goes up because he now is even cheaper than what aces are going for now.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 06:49 PM) Wait, let's examine this. Their value is sky high........so we're not going to trade them? I hope Hahn is willing to examine any possibility, every scenario, for improving this ballclub. If someone wants to overpay you hand either over immediately. And before the inevitable, " we'll never receive fair value," you base every trade proposal independent of others. What will we receive? How many of our holes are filled? This is why us hardcore fans are the best and worst for trade scenarios. We understand our ballclub more than anyone else, but we're so blinded by fan loyalty and our own biases that we can't remove ourselves and make an impartial evaluation of this team. Unless there's a substantial and unexpected offensive upgrade across the entire team, we won't compete. Now, how can we improve that? Platooning Avila and Flowers is only a small step. Granted, there's time to upgrade and I'm not critizing Hahn (yet) but he's not going to build a playoff team based on FA. Someone needs to go, and more than likely, it's going to be Quintana. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 07:23 PM) the best case is to move a sp for those pieces to fix the team. esp in getting the rtn of some young pitchers as well. They won't trade them because what team is going to pay the required and deservedly so asking price of both? Sox would not get equal value in trade for either of them because it would cost a ton to get them.
-
Like others have said, this deal makes Sale & Quintana's trade value sky rocket. They are not trading either of them.
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 05:18 PM) the dodgers can let zach walk to the gaints. talk about the rivalry. the northside will sign shark if all else fail. or maybe cueto. Either one of these will happen for the Cubs I think.
