  1. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 10:36 AM) Q for Frazier would be awful. I'm not opposed to trading for Frazier, but Q being involved doesn't make any sense. I agree. We can definitely create a package that doesn't include Q. It'll be interesting what the Reds do because they literally have 0 pitching and 0 bullpen outside of Chapman. Their offense is still solid but aging.
  2. Shuck definitely earned a spot on this team next year as a 4th OFer.
  3. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 09:34 PM) It'd be wise for the Bears to sell the farm. Young wants out? Great. I'd deal any and everybody, especially Martellus, Forte and Alshon. Wasn't a huge fan of Kevin White or trading Brandon Marshall in the first place from a football perspective, but I'd trade White if he had some value. Everyone must go. They're rebuilding but you don't trade Alshon or White. They're at least building blocks to the offense. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 10:37 PM) Could the Art Briles Baylor 5 wide offense work in the NFL? I always figured the pro rosters were too talented top to bottom, so it was much harder to find a weakness. Teams have adopted the spread, but nowhere near that agressively. No way. That offense is so easy that NFL teams would pick it apart. You really don't see many NFL players come from Baylor on offense because they can't read a defense or run routes properly. Someone asked draft scout Matt Miller last night if Bryce Petty is 1 to 2 years away to maybe play. Matt Miller said he's that far away from reading an NFL defense. Not all players are like that, but Baylor's system is so easy that you really don't need to think at all.
  4. Willie Young has requested a trade. I think we can get a 5th for him.
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 06:08 PM) They have CarGo and Blackmon in the OF. Avi would have a spot there. Micah isn't necessarily a 2B, he has the tools to be converted to something else. I know Beck was injured, so what? Doesn't mean he can't be traded. He's just a throw-in. Montas does need more time- when did I say he would be thrown right into their rotation? Fulmer has all-star potential as a SP. They also have Dickerson and David Dahl coming up soon.
  6. And I edited my Cincinnati proposal.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 06:01 PM) Do you know how bad Jason Castro has been offensively the past two years? No way he'd bat over Alexei and Sanchez. And 8/180 for Heyward? I think he'd want something like 8/260. 8/180 is 22.5 million a year. 8/260 is 32.5 million a year. That isn't happening lol.
  8. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) Yes, he has. I think his hitting is a fluke, but his defense is worthy of him being the 2016 center fielder I agree, but if he can play an elite CF with hitting 250-260 with 15+ HRs, I'll take it. QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 05:59 PM) Shuck mightve replaced him as 4th OF I think so too. I think Avi is trade bait.
  9. Extend Qualifying Offer to SP Jeff Samardzija- he declines, Sox get a comp pick Pick up 10 option for SS Alexei Ramirez Resign: RP Matt Albers 1 year/3 million C Tyler Flowers 1 year/2 million Sign via Free Agency: RF Jason Heyward 8 years/180 million (opt out clause after 4 years/100 million) Trades: White Sox trade RP Zach Putnam to the Houston Astros for C Jason Castro White Sox trade 3B Trey Michalczewski, 2B Micah Johnson, SP Frankie Montas, OF Avi Garcia, and SP Tyler Danish for 3B Todd Frazier and SP Jonathan Crawford Rotation/Bullpen: SP Chris Sale (L) SP Jose Quintana (L) SP Carlos Rodon (L) SP Erik Johnson SP John Danks (L) (Until Fulmer is ready) RP Scott Carroll (Long Man) RP Dan Jennings (L) RP Jake Petricka RP Zach Duke (L) RP Matt Albers RP Nate Jones CP David Robertson Lineup: LF Adam Eaton (L) 1B Jose Abreu RF Jason Heyward (L) 3B Todd Frazier DH Melky Cabrera (S) CF Trayce Thompson C Jason Castro (L) SS Alexei Ramirez 2B Carlos Sanchez (S) Bench: OF J.B Shuck 1B Adam LaRoche C Tyler Flowers UTIL Tyler Saladino After this year the Sox would free up 38 million by letting Ramirez, LaRoche, and Danks go.
  10. Let's go protected pick!
  11. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 04:53 PM) Ugh. Don't want sox season to end, regardless of how bad it was. I agree.
  12. Impressive play by Saladino at SS.
  13. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) No it isn't. you do that when you are ready to win. This is a good year to have 2 nice draft choices, for a team that desperately needs them. If you get a top 10 pick and Jeff says no to the QO, then Sox would still have 2 nice draft choices along with a chance of signing Heyward. That's an easy decision for me, you go and sign him.
  14. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 04:08 PM) With a top 10 first round pick and a comp pick for Shark this is a good year to go after a Heyward type player. I completely agree. Having 2 picks likely in the top 30 and getting Jason Heyward for a 2nd round pick? Sign me up. Of course, we have to lose today, and the Mariners have to win. If not, this all goes out the window.
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 10:30 PM) nice game... according the stats sheet .... no one had any meaningful hit. bickell 4 shots on goal and 0 hits. no pts. I watched the whole game. I don't know how someone missed Bickell's hits. He had 2 on his first shift of the game. Flattening one player against the boards as well. He actually had a pretty good game, was noticeable.
  16. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 4, 2015 -> 08:08 AM) For the love of God, please tell me we haven't been eliminated from protected pick status!? We haven't. We need to lose today, and Seattle needs to win.
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 11:10 PM) And now an HBP. Lol A's are gonna win
  18. Seattle winning 5-4 in the top of the 8th
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 10:48 PM) I would like them to at least put fliers out for the "hot" candidates, but yeah, I'd have no issues with Cubit in that situation. Given all the drama, it's not easy to get college kids focused and ready to play every week. I agree to an extent because all those "hot" coaches are from the MAC and we've seen that before. I'm comfortable with Cubit and Golesh (recruiting coordinator) because they are starting to bring in some good talent.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) Hell yeah! Illinois football is just so much more enjoyable without Beckman on the sidelines. I feel like they are more disciplined without Beckman. If Cubit somehow gets to 7-5 or 8-4 before a bowl game, I think you have to take the interim tag off him and make him the permanent head coach.
  21. Damn it Shuck. Such a good 4th OFer.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 09:02 PM) Get this run in. We need an L. And they do off Dan Jennings who has been really good lately.
  23. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 07:53 PM) Hoping the Sox lose this and the next game. Need that top 10 pick! Sox lose and Seattle wins and I think Sox clinch a top 10 pick.
