He's really young for his class, like Malcolm Hill. I believe he's now just turning 17. Also, Cal & Wisconsin came late he said but that Illinois is the right fit for him. Late riser.

Harper hits #40. Amazing

Well, it's that time of year again....2015 edition

QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 04:32 PM) which one, #3 or #10... either way, it is wishful thinking. #3. The Marlins, Phillies, and Braves are BAD -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 09:07 AM) Alexei probably shook off Geo more than Buerhle has ever shaken off a catcher. That was entertaining. Leury looked pretty good as well. I think if Leury ever busted out as a position player, he might want to give pitching a try. While it was fun to watch them, to me, nothing beats Dunn on the mound. His mannerisms were hysterical. I agree, Dunn was fantastic to watch on the mound lol.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 09:24 AM) RT @DarrenDreger: Expect the Blackhawks to provide info on Patrick Kane's training camp status today. No reason to think Kane won't participate. If he participates, then we can expect Kane to be ready for the season I bet. No way Mcdonough would let Kane to training camp and risk negative publicity like Kane being charged or something.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 16, 2015 -> 08:45 AM) Well, they get good recruits all the time. Really just a matter of getting a pg. That I have little confidence in, though this kid's offer sheet isn't great either. Michigan was going after Lucas real hard until they managed to get Simpson.

That's 2 games in a row where Micah's hitch turning 2 cost the team a double day.

QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 15, 2015 -> 08:36 PM) What are the chances that MLB revises the method of determining qualifying offers? Requiring a QO of $15 Million for a pitcher of Samardjiza's quality is ridiculous. Stephen Drew got one a couple years ago and I believe he hit under 200 that year lol

Bryce Harper is amazing

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 15, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) Not sure how Soria gets anyone out these days. Stuff doesn't look good at all. This would be a terrible loss for the Pirates. And the Pirates over come Soria's implosion and win the game.

Classic ex-tiger bullpen arm meltdown.

PG Te'Jon Lucas announcing tomorrow. Down to Illinois, USC, and Old Dominion.

Jeff Passan @JeffPassan 12h12 hours ago Starling Marte would've been with the White Sox if not for a vengeful, gun-toting buscon. More from @BradyMcCollough: http://bit.ly/1gnFkOq Balta mentioned it in the minor league thread, but I thought this was worth its own thread on what would of been. This really upsets me because I love Starling Marte and would of loved to see him in a Sox uniform.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 10:41 PM) When your catcher starts messing up you start to throwing to the catcher instead of the hitter. He didn't block the first strikeout either that went for a drop 3rd strike.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 10:09 PM) That inning was all on Flowers. Not just the passed ball, the interference as well. And that CI was a game ending double play ball. Flowers is so bad.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 10:05 PM) Hahn's press conference with Melky, Samardzija and Robertson gets more depressing by the day Not one hard hit ball that inning.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 10:02 PM) Please be his last chance I better see Brantly starting tomorrow.

Tyler Flowers is so ****ing bad

Lmao at Flowers

Oh no Trayce

Not making excuses, but I wonder if Avi's back is still sore. I don't understand him being back in the line up after getting taken out yesterday.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 06:57 AM) For me personally, I want them to finish with a top ten pick so it gives them the option to sign a guy with a QO without giving up a first rounder. Of course, that doesn't mean they will but it at least gives them an option. I agree, if we get a top 10 pick and our 1st rounder is protected, I definitely go after Heyward. He fits everything that this team is not good at and is still young and can be part of the core of this team.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 09:30 AM) Sure Rodgers has a lot part to do with it, but Jones made some really nice catches yesterday. His first touchdown catch was all him. He had a another nice catch in the end zone that came back because of a penalty. False. That throw was insane with pretty good coverage from Ball. The throw hit Jones right in the chest, Jones just had to turn his body back into the field of play, amazing throw by Rodgers.

Ryan Easterling @RyanEasterling 8m8 minutes ago 2017 5-star center Jeremiah Tilmon tells me he and Jordan Goodwin plan to visit Illinois tomorrow for part of the football game. I'd love both of them.

Sox have tried to sign Samardzija to a long term deal
GGajewski18 replied to Sockin's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Sep 11, 2015 -> 12:25 PM) Absolutely agree DA and you make a great point about the money saved by Samardzija rejecting the Sox extension. Do you think this means the could extend the payroll some for next season? Imo, they should since, as you said, they had money allocated for the extension but since that money has not been spent and the Sox are in need of hitting, there should be some money available towards bringing in a positional player to help the offense. Not necessarily through FA but maybe acquire a player through trade. That's what I have been saying from the beginning, if the Sox were willing to go long term on a free agent pitcher (which they rarely do), then I think they will have money to go after a hitter this off season (Upton, Heyward, Cespedes)
