QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) Leake a Fa They want to resign him, and he is from west coast as well.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 01:15 PM) About to start our reports over at the MLB Draft subreddit. Doing the top 100 players. If someone does not have a reddit, will you post your top 100 here, or DM me the list?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 01:16 PM) They will offer it to him. Some team will give him a longer term for $16 million a year, even if it is for 2 or 3 seasons. He might even be decent for a season if he goes to the correct team. I'm thinking Cardinals or Giants. I just mentioned on the last page, I think the Giants would be ideal for him. They're losing Hudson, Vogelsong, Lincecum, and Cain is a shell of himself. Bumgarner, Leake, Shark, Cain, and ? isn't that bad. They play really good defense out there and the park is huge.

Abreu drops it

I think Jeff would fit well with the Giants.

That was a BOMB

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 3, 2015 -> 12:28 PM) LaRoche is such a waste. And he got in the foot on the strikeout and still swung lol.
-
Gibson hung a sinker up to Eaton. Pretty good sinker to Abreu, Abreu is just better and goes down and hits a ground rule double.
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 2, 2015 -> 03:54 PM) That's ridiculous. How can you call someone an average to good MLB player when he either A. Hasn't played in MLB, or B. Has played one MLB season or less? By your logic, Erik Johnson and Frank Montas are decent MLB players. I'm saying Bogaerts, Betts, Reddick and Iglesias productive players. They have some success at the MLB level.
-
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 2, 2015 -> 01:27 PM) Come on... you can't call these guys "solid" and whatnot when they've barely played. I'll give you Iglesias, Holt, and probably Bogaerts. The rest are overrated. Yeah, none of those guys are overrated besides Middlebrooks. They are all average to good MLB players that I wouldn't mind having on the Sox.
-
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 2, 2015 -> 11:02 AM) I'm looking for Brantly and Leury to wear butt-shaped patterns into the bench. I want Brantly to play at least. Flowers and Soto aren't exactly great at their position.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 2, 2015 -> 11:24 AM) Nothing is going to happen now anyway. If any moves are made it will have to be during the off season. They have always said there are no sacred cows. It's always the return. Did I miss something or is it just Hahn speaking now instead of Williams? I don't think anything big (like trade Chris Sale) will happen either because the Sox are still in the mind set that they can compete next year. Trading Chris Sale does not let you do that.

Odd that Trey isn't in the line up. They have clinched a playoff berth, so probably just rest.

Johnson, Montas, Brantly, & Leury Garcia recalled.

The 40 man roster is still at 38, correct? -
Monte Ball might be getting cut as well and could be a pick up for the Bears. Forte, Ball, Langford, Carey would be siiiiiiick.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 04:08 PM) If that really is the case, taking to twitter for something like that is a piss poor way of handling it. Apparently showing up your not teammates and manager publicly isn't a part of those standards? My buddy just tweeted at me saying he heard people discussing this on the radio (didn't say what station) and that that tweet was meant to be for a fan...... I don't know if I buy that.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 02:31 PM) https://twitter.com/TheBuzzerOnFOX/status/638768211685601281 I really hope he gets an opportunity. Nothing could hurt from a tryout.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 04:00 PM) What is that in reference to? QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 04:02 PM) Castro? Internet is freaking out thinking it is Castro because Baez is playing today in his place.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 03:55 PM) Almonte is in his first year of full-season ball, and he's been starting - no value in stretching him out further. Wheeler and Alvarez are below AA, and they already seem to be pushing that boundary (though I agree that both could be good there). Hayes I totally agree, would be better there than Barnum. But I like Brennan there. His missed time is exavtly why you want him there, and people forget but this is a high talent but raw guy - perfect AFL candidate in many ways. Need him to get more innings so he can be geared up for a full season next year. I understand that, but has he had a season where he has been fully healthy? Just by looking at his numbers, he doesn't do anything special, a lot of walks, not many strikeouts, big whip. At least Wheeler strikes guys out. I don't know, I know it's just one guy but, in my mind, he's taking a spot that is someone else is more deserving and more valuable to the organization.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 02:27 PM) Alexi Ramirez should not play another game this month. Not saying he should not be brought back but he should not play this month. Nor should Melky or La Roche. Melky isn't really blocking anyone, and imo, you can definitely with him in the line up. Thompson needs to play in favor of LaRoche and the OFs could have a rotating DH.
