  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 12:45 PM) Ready for Perez, Guthrie, Cy, and Butler to kill us for another season? Only if they're ready for Eaton, Abreu and Semein to kill them.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 09:33 AM) Wind blowing left to right 10-20 mph. De Aza 2 more? I'll go out on a limb and say Abreu gets his first career HR today to right center.
  3. Good first test for Johnson against a good Royals line up. Let's win another series.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 09:14 AM) People have disagreed and said that there is a mechanical change he may need to make to exploit his power - that he drives the ball too much into the ground, and thus hits too many ground balls/bloops. I can see that because I think he's trying to get inside on the ball on inside pitches and try to take them the other way when he needs to pull those for doubles and home runs, so I can see your point right there too.
  5. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20140404 Rienzo starting for Charlotte. Jaye starting for Birmingham. Goldberg starting for Winston Salem. Danish starting for Kannapolis.
  6. Encouraging to see Davidson and Micah start off the season well. I still can see Micah play a quality second base, he played pretty well at second in spring training. Also nice to see Barnum draw 3 walks last night. Disappointed in Thompson going 0-5
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 09:07 AM) I dont think its things like Mechanics or balance like Beckham has struggled with, I think his pitch recognition needs work and it will come with playing every day at the MLB level. This is rebuilding folks, young players WILL struggle and learn. I hope everyone hasnt forgotten that. I agree. It's not mechanics, its definitely pitch recognition.
  8. Holy crap. 4 errors for WS, this time Wendelken. Dykstra has given up 2 runs.
  9. Sucks that Lindstrom couldn't close out the game this afternoon but I'm excited that this team fought back on two occasions to regain the lead. Winning 2 out of 3 isn't bad at all. Let's keep doing that.
  10. This is why you need good starting pitching that can go deep into games. That's why I see Sox drafting a pitcher come draft day.
  11. If you're going to critique him. At least spell defense right. He's 22 years old. This team is young and inexperienced. This season will be full of emotion just like Hawk said during the game today. Exciting and heartbreaking all year. This team will grow and the young players (hopefully) will grow as the season goes along. It was game 3 of 162 today...
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:44 PM) You guys think I'm a moron for saying this all the time, but Nate Jones' arm delivery is awful. I only saw one other guy throw like that, Keith Foulke. I don't know how any pitching coach can allow him to pitch that way. Some of you guys who were pitchers ... do u agree with me?? His arm delivery is not conducive to anything positive. No. Some guys are unique. Look at Paco Rodriguez from the Dodgers as an example and had a great year last year.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 03:13 PM) Ok, let's get Q that no decision. Or the win....
  14. CB Buckner is awful. Was he the ump last year with the Phillies pitcher fake tag the runner going to first?
  15. I hope this one gets in. Just because I want to see us the twinkies
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 1, 2014 -> 09:10 AM) Ryan Kussmaul 3A Charlotte Knights!!! Who would of thunked it!? Not this guy! Super stoked for the season and this new stadium!!! What about Ryan Kussmaul?
  17. Great win today. Watched the game with my dog lol. Sale, Abreu, Eaton, Gillaspie, and De Aza were great today. Nitpicking negatives: Avi and Semein pitch selection. Alexei did look slow at SS today. First game of the year though
  18. QUOTE (CyAcosta41 @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 01:16 PM) Such angst, my White Sox fan brothers. I know some of you are youngsters. But, for me at age 55 -- in no way thinking I'm speaking for anyone else but me -- I try to spend AT LEAST the first month of every new baseball season enjoying the game, focusing on the positives I can spot (instead of the negatives which any seasoned fan can invariably spot), and basically just renewing a life-long love affair with the great sport of baseball. Why deprive yourself of a period of pure joy? There's plenty of time to strategize, and analyze, and criticize. In my opinion, there's a positive mental health benefit in giving yourself the gift of just enjoying the sport you love. At least for a little while. Especially after this winter of the endless Polar Vortices! Go White Sox 2014. Enjoy the season, everyone! Thank you. Great post
  19. Daryl Van Schouwen ‏@CST_soxvan 3m Team in crosschecking phase on scouting the No . 3 pick. Sox will take best player available, but that will lIkely be a pitcher, Hahn said.
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 11:14 AM) Anyone who boos Dunn during intros are before his first AB is an idiot, and a bad fan. This x100000
  21. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 11:12 AM) Holy s*** they put Dunn in the opening day lineup. That's f***ing stupid. He's gonna be booed so mercilessly, and since he's proven to be a mental midget type of player, I can't see this boofest of epic proportions stimulating a productive season. Couldn't we have just waited a day? Spare him the shame of 30k+ boos in unison, without a single cheer to be heard? I guess they know what they're doing. RV asked PK if he wanted to be in the Opening Day line up. He said no because that goes against the teams plans this year.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 31, 2014 -> 11:06 AM) Why on Earth is Conor Gillaspie batting 3rd. I really don't mind it. I'm glad Dunn isn't hitting 3 anymore. If anything, like others have said, put De Aza in that 3 hole.
