4/16- Red Sox @ White Sox 7:10 PM CT
GGajewski18 replied to Jose Abreu's topic in 2014 Season in Review
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 16, 2014 -> 08:57 AM) How? Davidson's in AAA. A 23 year old possible franchise third baseman for a closer on a 4-13 team right now. Real easy, even if he isn't a franchise third baseman, you do that trade 10 times out of 10 unless you have Mariano Rivera -
This ump crew is already getting on my last nerve.
-
I'm really starting to like the idea of Tyler Kolek in a Sox uniform...

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20140415 Surkamp going for Charlotte Beck and Jaye going for Birmingham Goldberg going for Winston Salem Dykstra and Danish going for Kanny
-
Would you guys be interested in Nick Burdi with our 2nd round pick? Local kid who's having a great year at Louisville, just doesn't start, he's their closer.
-
Can anyone else see Gillaspie be on the bench next year covering 1b/3b with Davidson and Abreu starting. I would love to keep him, but I wanna see Davidson start.
-
Still early, but the Peavy trade could benefit the Sox greatly.

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?s...mp;ymd=20140414 Birmingham and Kanny both postponed, but Rienzo starting for Charlotte and Wendelken starting for WS. Hawkins 1-2 with a K. Wendelken looking good as a starter....

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 04:43 PM) Another live body to add to the pile. Message sent to the veterans. Completely agree. Does Belisario have options too?
-
Love taking 3 out of 4 from Cleveland. Real nice to see. Now let's take the series against Boston.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 09:11 AM) That was a point of conversation on 670 this morning. I wonder what they could realistically get for him from the Yankees or Pirates... How much is Alexei owed on his current contract? I think it would be wise to sell on him high, but if this team is anywhere close to a playoff spot, no chance he gets traded.

Trevor Cahill might be a pitcher to trade for
GGajewski18 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Only pitcher I want from the DBacks is Reed if they begin to sell. I wouldn't touch any of their starters. -
I read from Buster Olney on Twitter the other day that if the DBacks keep falling back, they could a team that folds it in early. I wouldn't mind trading for Reed again if Sox are in the race...

Cleveland Indians @ Chicago White Sox

Man, it would be sweet to take 3 out 4 from Cleveland early. -
QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 11, 2014 -> 07:29 AM) Carrasco=Abreu HR #5 and #6!! Sox should win this one. Carrasco is garbage, but we've seen how garbage pitchers look like against the Sox. I just want to beat Cleveland again.

I see Sean Bierman is in Kanny. At 25 for low A, i guess he doesn't have much of a future. Where is Ben Kline? I don't see him on any roster.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 01:35 PM) De aza's trade value will be minimal, at best. 2 lower level prospects I think he can net.
-
QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 01:32 PM) Just saw that Sox big bats not only knocked Wil Lopez out of the game yesterday, but he was sent down to AAA today, inf Rutledge brought up. Would not be surprised to see him in the lineup today, especially if Tulo is hirting. I saw that too. Feel bad for the guy, it was real nice to be on the side of a good ole slaughtering.
-
I also like that Viciedo is in the line up. I still think he's part of the core and only 25. On the other hand, still have to play De Aza to get his trade value at its highest

QUOTE (Baron @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) Hopefully no 88MPH fastballs from Erik today. Hopefully the velocity is up. Warm day in Colorado, I hope his fast ball is 91-93 today.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 11:35 AM) Those trades are not remotely comparable to the Molina deal - both of the other ones were salary dumps. The White Sox removed Swisher's contract, got him off the roster, and got back a couple of wild cards in the Marquez deal - Betemit and Nunez came back as well. The most important thing was clearing Swisher off the roster. Zach Stewart came back to the Sox along with Jason Frasor when Jackson and Teahen were dumped. Again, that was a salary dump, but we got back Frasor who, although ineffective for us, was then dealt for the guy who threw the hardest fastball I've ever seen in person, Daniel Webb. So out of that one, we got rid of Teahen's salary, got rid of Jackson, and wound up with a future closer (and Myles Jaye as well). Those trades aren't remotely comparable to the the other ones. Sergio Santos was not a salary dump. There were no other spare parts, there were no other wild cards, there were no other guys who could potentially contribute to the MLB roster along with that trade, it was straight up, one guy for the other. Myles Jaye will be in this rotation sooner rather than later. Bank on it.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 11:26 AM) https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/45393...5470336/photo/1 Let's put up 15 more and call it a series win.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 10:24 AM) Josh Feldman @BigTexJosh 11m Not only has James Dykstra retired all 15 batters faced so far, Hickory has not hit a ball out of the infield. Pitch count: 46 (34 strikes). He's already 23. I hope to see him in high A or even AA by years end if he continues to do well.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 9, 2014 -> 08:12 AM) Nathaniel Stoltz on twitter was saying that Danish was touching 92 in his last start. He lost a lot of velocity towards end of season last year. If he can sit around 92-93 with that delivery, I think that he can be pretty effective. Yeah that 92-93 mph drops like 6 inches too.
