Honestly I find Alexei and Rios are only worth 4 million. I find that extremely hard to believe.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 02:18 PM) If the Red Sox are looking at both Peavy and Rios, if they want both, we are guaranteed 1 or 2 of Bogarts, Bradley Jr and Webster without a doubt.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 02:11 PM) Really want a big trade to happen. Lets shake this s*** up! Same. Ideal fits are Rios and Alexei to the Pirates. Peavy and Crain to the Red Sox or DBacks.

Peavy to Boston, Avisail Garcia + 3 low lv specs to Sox

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 11:51 AM) Bruce Levine mentioned this morning that once Garza goes, Peavy becomes best SP on the market. He said scouts from 10-12 will be in attendance tomorrow night to watch Peavy pitch. Figured that. That's what I like to see. Just time for Peavy to step up and pitch his butt off -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 11:28 AM) I'll be honest, I sort of selfishly wish we could keep Peavy...he's been one of the few bright spots on this lifeless team. I love Peavy. But hopefully he pitches well and if the right deal is there, you trade him. -
QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 09:27 AM) If the Sox are including money, it wont be for second tier guys. The Pirates will have enough money to take on those contracts without any money from the White Sox thanks to the new TV deal, but if they want payroll flexibility to add more, it will cost them some of their better prospects. Hopefully Hahn can convince them of that. I think we can get some very good players for Rios and Alexei.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 09:05 AM) The issue with the Pirates, if I had to guess, is they would be willing to move better prospects if the party they were trading with picked up salary. If the Sox were to move Rios/Ramirez, that's $22 million or so in salary just next year? And another $7-8 million this year still? Then they'd still be taking on at least $12 million in salary for '15 if you include the two buyouts. My guess is that is more than the Pirates will be willing to take on, but considering the lack of other options out there, it might be something they are willing to do if we take on, say half of that money in exchange for higher quality prospects. I think this might actually be one of the best fits out there. I agree that the money can be a very big issue with the Pirates. But doing this move, would not only help the team but the fans too by showing them they are committed to win this year. Their line up could be lethal with Rios and Alexei.

Rios and Alexei for Polonco, Hanson, Kingham and Herrera? Does that seem like a steep price?
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 11:38 PM) Would they trade Alvarez for Rios, Alexei and Crain? Throw in Mitchell if we have to? Young power hitting third baseman? I hope you're kidding.... The purpose of trading Rios and Alexei is to get prospects back and build up the system.

QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 11:30 PM) Who would Hahn be targeting? Well a couple days ago, Bucket said that from the pirates Hahn was targeting Polonco and Hanson I believe.
-
This is ideal. Polonco, Bell, Hanson, Taillon, Dickerson, Kingham, Sanchez, and Herrera is who I would target.

QUOTE (whitesox901 @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 10:25 PM) How good is LA's farm? OF Joc Pederson. All you need to know. Sox would want him and he would be the center piece

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 10:14 PM) Sounds like they are already getting more than he's worth So if that happens, Peavy pitches well, we could get the same or even more if we package Crain in a deal too. Could get very interesting. And mlbtraderumors says that Rangers are still looking for a right handed hitting bat and still are connect to Rios. Where's bucket? I want to know if there is any new information out there. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 10:03 PM) It'll probably be something like Olt and Edwards for Garza. I would have gladly taken that for Peavy. Cubs are waiting out because they want more. Gonna be interesting. I really think Garza is traded late tonight or tomorrow -

I'm hearing names in play are Olt, Jackson and Edwards for Garza -
QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 09:18 PM) Looks like Rangers not even looking at Peavy and looks like the trade for Garza is inevitable. Bring on the Red Sox, DBacks and Dodgers for him.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 06:07 PM) I'm not sure we're as eager to dump salary as you might think... Yes you're right, but these guys will bring the most back in trade. At the right price.

Rosenthal tweeted moments ago that he has one source that Garza to the Rangers is pretty close. What does this mean for Peavy, as when healthy is the next most valuable pitcher on the market. Teams get desperate? -
Pretty encouraging that Barnum is having a great day.
-
Jacobs with another K. Konerko RBI single. Thompson RBI triple
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 07:47 PM) I'd bet that one of Rios, Viciedo, and/or De Aza gets traded in the next two weeks. Ahh makes sense.
-
Jacobs K's lol. Fits right in.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 07:35 PM) There is a pretty good chance that a job in the WS OF is opening up here anyday now. Why you say that?
-
Good to see Barnum 2-2 with an RBI so far tonight.
-
OF Brandon Short also released.
