  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) Why? Red Sox and DBacks have deeper systems and have more position prospects that are soon to be ready. Giants is very meh, and Rockies are decent but idk if we can get Dahl or Parker from them.
  2. Hopefully Peavy, Rios, Alexei have strong performances again today with many scouts in attendance.
  3. I trust Red Sox and DBacks systems. I would stay away from the Rockies and giants systems.
  4. Heyman just tweeted that Rios was mad at himself for grounding into DP and sulkke. Not a big deal. Case closed. I like hearing that.

  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 11:05 PM) It certainly didn't help his value, and I don't mean the benching, I mean the loafing, but he is one guy where the reports are the offers are weak, so for them to improve, he is going to have to be really good the next 10 days. Maybe he realizes he let his teammates down tonight with his lack of effort and comes out tomorrow on fire. I really hope so. And a Peavy domination.
  7. So with the stunt Rios pulled tonight? How much does this affect his trade value? Optimistic, he's still a very good player. And honestly, we know a lot of hitters dog it to first. Pessimistic, Hahn will get low ball offers still, we'll be with him for another season.
  8. If he was indeed benched. Just our luck that at the same time he gets pulled, Hanson gets pulled. Unbelievable.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 08:37 PM) Danks just can't afford to make mistakes with this type of stuff. Gotta give McCann credit though. An 11 pitch at bat. Danks has made 2 mistakes in this game and unfortunately they left the ball park. Other than that, I thought he's pitched well
  10. Seriously? I don't understand how you can't sprint for 90 feet out of the box.
  11. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 05:37 PM) Sox have been VERY active, but are playing the market patiently. I like to hear that that Hahn is in full trading mode. Do you know by chance what teams are interested in our players and what names have been discussed. Sorry for bombarding you with questions. But thank you
  12. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) This package is not gonna happen. Polanco is likely not going anywhere. Rios + Alexei + $$ is gonna get you something like: Josh Bell, Tyler Glasnow & (maybe) Clay Holmes but (more likely) Adrian Sampson. Anything new you're hearing Bucket? Thank you in advance. Love hearing what you have to say.
  13. Gonzalez tweeted that Crain hopes to come back in 1 week.
  14. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 05:05 PM) Any contender can use a healthy Jesse. He was placed on the 15 day DL retro to 6-30. He's eligible to come off. Any word when? I just read a tweet, forgot from who, that RV said that Crain will go on a rehab assignment before coming back to the big club.
  15. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 05:00 PM) Just beat me. Things could definitely be interesting with them.
  16. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 04:44 PM) Agreed if the sox kick in serious money and Ramirez and Rios head over to the pirates this is the type of return I would love to see: Gregory Polanco - If the sox are kicking in serious $$ he better be coming back. He looks the part of a potential 5 tool talent that can handle CF, He just transitioned to AA so if the sox aquire him i wouldn't expect to see him at earliest june/july of next year more probably a sept. call up and starting in '15 Tyler Glasnow - This kid is on some major helium, one of those high school arms with the tag projectability written all over their scouting report that is actually taking his raw tools and turing them into skills, far enough away in a deep pirate system that they could move him. Jin-De Jhang - Gives us a good looking catching prospect a bit away, while we find out what we have in Phegley and Flowers. Andrew Lambo - Could very well a potent OF bat, He was once the top prospect in the dodgers system and lost a lot of his shine; he isn't going to get his shot on the pirates and he is still age appropriate for AAA. He would come up immediately and take over for Rios. So far at AAA he is putting up this line .279/.356/.574 with 9HR(23 on the year). Victor Black - former 1st round pick had some injury issues and got pushed into the bullpen but has taken well to the role, looks to be a future set up man sitting in AAA again a piece a contending team doesn't have time to develop at the major league level. I'd be happy with that package of players for Ramirez Rios and Cash. Very happy.
  17. Andrew Bailey is out for the season for the BoSox with a torn labrum. Crain & Lindstrom's price just went up for the Red Sox. They desperately need some bullpen help.
  18. Honestly I find Alexei and Rios are only worth 4 million. I find that extremely hard to believe.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 02:18 PM) If the Red Sox are looking at both Peavy and Rios, if they want both, we are guaranteed 1 or 2 of Bogarts, Bradley Jr and Webster without a doubt.
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 02:11 PM) Really want a big trade to happen. Lets shake this s*** up! Same. Ideal fits are Rios and Alexei to the Pirates. Peavy and Crain to the Red Sox or DBacks.
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 11:51 AM) Bruce Levine mentioned this morning that once Garza goes, Peavy becomes best SP on the market. He said scouts from 10-12 will be in attendance tomorrow night to watch Peavy pitch. Figured that. That's what I like to see. Just time for Peavy to step up and pitch his butt off
  22. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 11:28 AM) I'll be honest, I sort of selfishly wish we could keep Peavy...he's been one of the few bright spots on this lifeless team. I love Peavy. But hopefully he pitches well and if the right deal is there, you trade him.
  23. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 09:27 AM) If the Sox are including money, it wont be for second tier guys. The Pirates will have enough money to take on those contracts without any money from the White Sox thanks to the new TV deal, but if they want payroll flexibility to add more, it will cost them some of their better prospects. Hopefully Hahn can convince them of that. I think we can get some very good players for Rios and Alexei.
  24. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 19, 2013 -> 09:05 AM) The issue with the Pirates, if I had to guess, is they would be willing to move better prospects if the party they were trading with picked up salary. If the Sox were to move Rios/Ramirez, that's $22 million or so in salary just next year? And another $7-8 million this year still? Then they'd still be taking on at least $12 million in salary for '15 if you include the two buyouts. My guess is that is more than the Pirates will be willing to take on, but considering the lack of other options out there, it might be something they are willing to do if we take on, say half of that money in exchange for higher quality prospects. I think this might actually be one of the best fits out there. I agree that the money can be a very big issue with the Pirates. But doing this move, would not only help the team but the fans too by showing them they are committed to win this year. Their line up could be lethal with Rios and Alexei.
  25. Rios and Alexei for Polonco, Hanson, Kingham and Herrera? Does that seem like a steep price?
