  1. QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 10:27 AM) The sox definitely should hold out for the best deal. There's no rush to dump Peavy, even if he gets re-injured before the 31st. Then the Sox keep him for next year, worst case. Then they might have to trade a SP like Santiago instead in the offseason to help the offense. But I could see a decent offer come even before his next start. Other teams know they're getting a guy who won't wilt under pressure, as long as the medical reports look good. I agree. With Peavy, Hahn has to get a great offer that can help this team next year or in 2 years offensively. If that can't be the case, then our rotation next year when healthy again is top 5 in the AL.
  2. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 09:58 AM) Matt Davidson + please. Or Chris Owings. Can't wrong with either. Preferably both but let's not get greedy
  3. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 09:31 AM) Couldn't even get a number of players he expects to go out of him. He's usually pretty straight forward too. Does that mean he has no clue, or expects major change?
  4. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 09:06 AM) I talked to a Sox executive yesterday who told me it's not Kenny's job anymore. This is a Hahn operation. Did you ask the executive what the Sox are looking at with trades?
  5. QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 08:45 AM) Supposedly the deal for Garza with Texas was Olt, Ramirez, Sardinas, and Edwards. That is a ton for a 2 month rental. I would make that deal for Peavy. Of course the medical records need to be clean on those players. I read that and that is just nuts. Makes you think what we can actually get for Peavy, in a good way if that deal is just for a 2 month rental.
  6. Pirates have lost 3 in a row now, Pirates now only 2 games up on the Reds for 2nd in that division. Texas have lost 2 straight. And the Red Sox are only 1.5 on Rays and 4 up on O's. Things are going to get interesting and one of these teams is going to get desperate.

  8. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 07:47 PM) Ken Rosenthal ‏@Ken_Rosenthal 1m One more note on Peavy: Scout from #STLCards also attended his start today. Like all scouts there, could have been looking at others too. Now that's juicy. Love their system
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 07:32 PM) I'd love to be taking calls from other teams as a Hahn assitant. "I'm under orders from Rick to say put an offer on the table and he will prioritize it based on if he thinks it's workable. We're getting a lot of calls now from other teams about (insert players name). " That would be perfect
  10. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 06:24 PM) I want Eaton and Davidson, sox have some interesting MI prospects half a season to a season away.(sanchez, semien and johnson) If we can somehow get 2 of those guys in any deal. I'll be ecstatic
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 06:13 PM) •It'll be interesting to see what the White Sox get for Alex Rios if they decide to deal him. Position players are usually easier to move in the winter and clubs view his deal differently. He earns $12.5MM per season through 2014 with a $13.5MM club option for 2015. On one hand, that's a reasonable price tag for someone who hits 20 homers, gets 20 steals, and can play outstanding defense. On the other, as recently as 2011, he had a .613 OPS. For the White Sox to make a worthwhile deal, they may have to throw in prospects and cash. per ken rosenthal Prospects and cash? Not a chance. I can see just cash
  12. Ravelo hurt? Hasn't played last couple games.
  13. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 05:29 PM) All in all it was a good outing for Peavy, Rios and Lindstrom. Do your thing Ricky. And De Aza and Alexei for what its worth.
  14. Another good inning for Lindstrom.
  15. You can't fault De Aza really, I would of done the same thing. It was a good read, Uggla made a hell of a grab. He spun his body. And Olney just tweeted that scouts will be walking away impressed with Peavy.
  16. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 05:08 PM) Agreeed good early life on the FB , command iffy, last 2 innings scoreless, FB losing its life. He was still hitting 91-92 in the 6th. Just changing speeds. I think he was throwing the cutter.
  17. 6 strong innings with 2 ER from Peavy. Solid outing considering coming back from injury.
  18. Peavy done after 87 pitches?
  19. You guys think Yankees there scouting for Keppinger?
  20. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 04:38 PM) Red Sox are in 1st already and picked up Contreras to replace Andrew Bailey . Don't know if that will work out but clearly Red Sox will be play hardball in trades. They could be. They also could get desperate. No way Contreras holds up. Their just trying to strike gold like Texas with Manny v
  21. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) I'm not so sure. Teams seem to be hording their good minor leaguers and Red Sox especially. They need to go on a 5 game losing streak. Then those teams clearly don't want to win honestly. If a player is out there that will make your team better. You go after him as a GM, whether it was a good or bad move. If Sox were in contention, KW would not hesitate to make that deal.
  22. Great piece of hitting by Phegley.
  23. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 04:26 PM) Nice inning Jake. Keep it up and you will soon be pitching for a team with a competent defense. Lol true. You guys are cracking me up today. Real Stat line of Peavy is 3 hits and 2 runs through 4. 2 hits should of been made by the defense. And one didn't make it to the pitchers mound.
  24. Way to come back and get Uggla.
